✨ Beyond Belief ✨Faith isn’t a finish line. It’s not a trophy you polish and place on a shelf. It’s not a box you tick on a Sunday morning and forget by Monday.Faith is movement. It’s the road under your feet. The wrestle in your chest. The questions that wake you up at 2 a.m. and refuse to be silenced. It’s the doubt that sharpens you.The wonder that pulls you deeper. The holy tension between what you’ve been told… and what you’re discovering for yourself. Here, we wander the wild corners of Christianity. We tear into the ancient stories — not to tame them, but to let them speak. We wrestle with mystery. We confront comfortable clichés.We look again at a God who refuses to stay small.Because maybe faith was never meant to be safe.Maybe it was meant to be alive. This is not about arriving. It’s about becoming.Welcome to Beyond Belief.

    The Voice

What if the most important question isn't “What path should I take?” but “Whose voice am I following?” In this episode of Beyond Belief, we explore one of Jesus' most powerful and personal teachings: the Good Shepherd in John chapter 10. Jesus describes Himself as the gate, the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep, calls them by name, and leads them into a life of freedom, belonging, and abundance. But there's a problem. We live surrounded by voices. The voice of social media.  The voice of our past.  The voice of fear.  The voice of ambition.  The voice of comparison.  The voice telling us we're not enough, that we're falling behind, or that we have to earn our worth. And sometimes, beneath all those voices, we struggle to recognize the voice of the Shepherd. In “The Voice,” we explore what it means to learn to recognize God's voice in the middle of the noise. Through personal storytelling, the imagery of a Middle Eastern shepherd, and Jesus' teaching in John 10, this episode asks what happens when we stop trying to control every step of the journey and instead learn to trust the One who knows us. Jesus says: “I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me.” This isn't presented as distant religion or simply another set of rules. It is an invitation into relationship, recognition, belonging, and trust. We also explore Jesus' promise of abundant life — not merely a safe or comfortable existence, and not something reserved for some distant future, but a fullness of life that begins now.  In this episode: What Jesus means when He calls Himself the Good ShepherdWhy recognizing God's voice may matter more than knowing every step of the pathHow to identify the competing voices shaping our identity and decisionsThe difference between the voice of a shepherd and the voice of a “hired hand”What Jesus means by “life to the full”Why belonging comes before performanceHow to practice listening, pausing, and discerning God's voiceA practical challenge for creating space to listenThe powerful reminder that you don't have to know every turn in the road when you know who you're followingThe central message of this episode is simple: “You're not trying to find the right path. You're learning to recognize the right voice.” If you've ever felt overwhelmed by competing voices, struggled with doubt or comparison, wondered whether you truly belong, or simply longed to hear God more clearly, this episode is for you. The Shepherd is calling. The question is: Will you recognize His voice?  Listen to Beyond Belief Podcast Website Listen on Spotify Listen on Apple Podcasts Follow Beyond Belief on Facebook Watch on YouTube  Get Involved Send us Fan Mail Support the Show If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone who may be listening to too many voices right now. The Lazarus Problem

What happens when someone's life becomes evidence that the story we've been telling ourselves isn't true? In this episode of Beyond Belief, we turn to John 12 and the remarkable aftermath of Lazarus being raised from the dead. Lazarus is alive—but his very existence has become a problem. Crowds come to see him, many begin believing in Jesus, and the religious authorities decide that Lazarus must die. But this episode isn't simply about the miracle of resurrection. It's about what happens when transformation challenges the assumptions of the people around us. We explore the uncomfortable reality that change doesn't always make life easier. Sometimes a changed life attracts resistance. Sometimes people are more comfortable with who we used to be. And sometimes our lives can challenge someone else's story without us ever intending to. The story of Lazarus also raises deeper questions about Christian faith, transformation, hope and resurrection. What does it mean to live differently without having all the answers? Can a changed life become a testimony in itself? And where have we decided that something—or someone—is beyond resurrection? This episode explores: The aftermath of Lazarus being raised from the deadWhy the chief priests wanted Lazarus killedHow a changed life can become powerful evidenceWhy transformation can make other people uncomfortableThe danger of defining people by their pastResurrection versus perfectionFaith, hope, grief, scars and the process of becomingWhat it means to believe that God can bring life where we expect deathThree questions for personal reflectionAt the heart of the episode is one challenging question: What would I have to change if I really believed that God could bring life where I had already decided there was only death? Lazarus was once in a tomb. Then Jesus called his name—and he walked out. Perhaps there are still places in our lives where we need to hear that same invitation: Come out. Live again. Take the next step. Beyond Belief explores the difficult questions surrounding faith, doubt, belief, Scripture and the Christian life—without pretending that every question has an easy answer.  Listen to Beyond Belief Podcast Website: Buzzsprout Spotify: Listen on Spotify Apple Podcasts: Listen on Apple Podcasts Facebook: Follow Beyond Belief on Facebook YouTube: Watch Beyond Belief on YouTube  Get Involved Send us Fan Mail: Send Fan Mail Support the show: Support Beyond Belief  Music Fluidscape by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. The Elephant in the Universe

What happens when the God we believe in becomes too small? In this episode of Beyond Belief, we take a journey into one of the biggest questions of faith: How big is the God you believe in? Sometimes, without realising it, we reduce God to something manageable — a God who fits neatly into our explanations, our expectations, our politics, our problems and even our prayer lists. But what if we've forgotten the sheer scale, mystery and majesty of the God we claim to worship? In “The Elephant in the Universe,” we explore what it means to encounter a God who cannot be contained by our understanding. From a deeply personal moment on Table Mountain overlooking Cape Town, to the overwhelming encounter between Job and God in Job 38, this episode explores faith, doubt, suffering, awe, humility and the mystery of an infinite God who is somehow still intimately involved in our lives. We talk about: Why we so often try to make God smaller and more manageableWhat Job's encounter with God can teach us about suffering and unanswered questionsThe difference between having answers and knowing Someone big enough to hold the questionsWhy awe and wonder matter to our spiritual livesHow our modern access to information can sometimes diminish our sense of mysteryWhat it means to practice “cosmic humility”How to expand the way we prayWhy surrendering control doesn't mean giving up hopeHow remembering that “God is bigger than this” can change the way we face anxiety, uncertainty and difficult circumstancesAnd perhaps the most important question of all: Have we made God too small? The God who holds the universe is also the God who knows your name. You may be small in the scale of the cosmos — but you are not insignificant. You are seen, known and loved. A small God makes us anxious. A big God makes us brave. If you've ever struggled with doubt, grief, unanswered prayer, suffering, anxiety, or simply wondered whether there is more to faith than easy answers, this episode is for you. Who Told You You Weren't Enough?

Rediscovering the Beauty God Sees in You Have you ever wondered if you're good enough, worthy enough, spiritual enough, or simply enough? In this powerful episode of Beyond Belief, we explore one of the deepest struggles many of us carry: the feeling that we have to earn love, prove our worth, and measure up before we can truly be accepted. But what if the voice telling you that you're not enough isn't God's voice? Drawing from Zephaniah 3:17, Psalm 139:13–18, Isaiah 43:1–4, Luke 7:36–50, John 4:1–30, and Ephesians 2:10, this episode takes us on a journey of rediscovering how God sees us—not through the lens of our failures, wounds, appearance, achievements, or past, but through the eyes of His love and grace. We look at the woman at the well, the prodigal son, and ultimately the cross of Christ to discover a God who sees us completely and still invites us closer. God doesn't merely tolerate you. He delights in you. Your identity isn't something you have to earn.  Your worth isn't determined by other people's opinions.  Your worst chapter doesn't define your story.  And the cross has already answered the question: "Am I enough?" "The world teaches you to earn love. God invites you to receive it."This episode is for anyone who has ever felt unseen, rejected, forgotten, broken, ashamed, overlooked, or not enough. If you've spent years trying to prove yourself, perhaps it's time to stop asking whether you're enough—and start believing what God has already said about you. In This Episode • Why we so easily believe the lie that we're "not enough"  • How comparison, rejection, shame, and failure can shape our identity  • What Zephaniah 3:17 reveals about God's delight in us  • Why Psalm 139 changes the way we see ourselves  • The story of Jesus and the woman at the well  • Why Jesus reveals our wounds to restore us—not shame us  • What the cross says about our worth  • Why God's love isn't based on our performance  • How to begin seeing yourself through God's eyes  • A practical challenge for rediscovering your identity in Christ Remember You don't fight for God's love—you fight from it. The cross settled your value forever. Your identity is a gift to receive, not a prize to earn. God's opinion of you is more powerful than your opinion of yourself. What Happened to Your Heart?

Why So Many Christians Are Living Half Alive Have you ever wondered what happened to the passion, courage, and sense of adventure you once had? In this powerful episode of Beyond Belief, we ask a deeply challenging question: What happened to your heart? Many Christians love God, believe in Jesus, and faithfully go through the motions of life—yet somewhere along the way, they find themselves spiritually tired, comfortable, distracted, or simply going through the motions. But Jesus didn't call us merely to survive. He called us to life—and life abundantly. Drawing from Proverbs 4:23, Psalm 18:29, Matthew 4:19, John 10:10, and Ephesians 2:10, this episode explores what it means to wake up spiritually, rediscover courage, embrace God's calling, and step beyond a comfortable faith into a life of purpose and adventure. We look at the difference between comfort and courage, why following Jesus has always involved taking steps of faith, and how God may be inviting you to rediscover something you thought was lost. You are not an accident. You are God's workmanship. Your story isn't finished. And your next step of obedience could be the beginning of an entirely new chapter.  In This Episode • Why so many Christians end up living spiritually half alive  • What happens when comfort replaces courage  • Why Jesus calls us to follow rather than simply manage our lives  • What John 10:10 really says about abundant life  • Why your identity comes before your mission  • How fear can keep us from God's calling  • What David, Peter, and other biblical figures teach us about courage  • Why it's never too late to say yes to God  • How one act of obedience can change the direction of your life  • How to rediscover purpose, passion, faith, and spiritual adventure  Key Scriptures Proverbs 4:23 — Guard your heart. Psalm 18:29 — With God, you can run against a troop and overcome obstacles. Matthew 4:19 — Jesus calls us to follow Him. John 10:10 — Jesus came so that we may have life abundantly. Ephesians 2:10 — We are God's workmanship, created for good works.  The Challenge This week, do one thing that requires faith. Have the conversation. Forgive. Start serving. Pray boldly. Share your story. Take the next step. Don't let fear make the decision for you. Your heart was created for more than simply surviving.  Listen to Beyond Belief 🎧 Podcast Website: Listen to Beyond Belief 🎵 Spotify: Listen on Spotify 🍎 Apple Podcasts: Listen on Apple Podcasts ▶️ YouTube: Watch Beyond Belief on YouTube 📱 Facebook: Follow Beyond Belief on Facebook  Connect With the Show 💌 Send us Fan Mail: Send Fan Mail ❤️ Support the Show: Support Beyond Belief If this episode encouraged you, share it with someone who needs to wake up to the life God has called them to live.
