Season 2, Ep 37: From Ultramarathons to Ultimate Surrender and everything in between with Robbie (Beast) Manoogian

Hey y’all! Welcome back to Beyond the Struggle! This week, we’re joined by our dear friend Beast!! (Robbie Manoogian) What happens when an ultramarathon runner, caregiver, and man discerning the priesthood sits down to talk about faith, suffering, and God’s unexpected plans? In this episode, Beast shares his powerful testimony—from chasing seemingly impossible endurance races to caring for his mom through difficult seasons—and how God has met him in both the mountains and the valleys. We dive into a life-changing encounter he had in Taiwan, the supernatural provision of God through the story of manna in the Old Testament, and how a novena prayer unexpectedly led him to discern a different path than seminary—including meeting Hannah. Beast also opens up about attending a 10-day silent retreat in the Utah wilderness, what that experience was actually like, and how learning to embrace silence transformed his relationship with God. Along the way, we have candid conversations about temptation, addiction, gambling, endurance, surrender, and what it really means to trust God’s plan when it looks nothing like your own. Whether you’re wrestling with a big life decision, searching for deeper faith, or simply need encouragement to keep going, this episode is a reminder that God often does His greatest work in the wilderness. We hope this conversation encourages you as much as it encouraged us.
