And honestly, by the time this little audio gem reaches your ears, the cinematic behemoth that is Avengers: Endgame should have well and truly graced your eyeballs. I mean, it's taken a good fortnight for us to wrestle our thoughts into some semblance of order and get this recorded for you, hasn't it? And let's be real, the buzz around this thing is insane; it's practically a foregone conclusion that it's going to snatch the crown for the biggest movie. EVER. So, settle yourselves in, maybe grab a cuppa, and prepare to have your eardrums massaged by the dulcet tones of yours truly, Christian Cawley, and the ever-insightful James McLean. We're going to be diving headfirst into some of the real standout moments, those breathtaking sequences that had us on the edge of our seats (and maybe shedding a tear or two, no judgment here). We'll also be picking apart some of the major themes that resonated with us long after the credits rolled. But, being the inquisitive minds that we are, we couldn't just let it all slide without a bit of scrutiny, could we? So, brace yourselves for a healthy dose of discussion, perhaps even a little debate, about the rather… flexible approach the film takes to the whole time travel conundrum. Directed by Kit Monkman and starring Mark Rowley as Macbeth, Akiya Henry as Lady Macbeth and Al Weaver as Banquo, this is a stunning movie that mixes the traditional approach with a rich visual language, a tapestry of of vividly imagined locations presented as CGI set dressing for the story to unfold against. The movie summary is as follows: "Brilliant young general Macbeth pulls off a glorious victory in battle before returning to an indolent court where honours are dispensed by whim. Spurred on by prophesying drifters and an ambitious wife, Macbeth sets his sights on the throne. In Kit Monkman's adventurous new adaptation, this compelling tale of unchecked ambition, soured friendship, lost intimacy and the descent into nihilism is encountered in a strange and claustrophobic territory partly conjured by the mind."
