Hua Tuo Warned Dun Zixian（华佗为顿子献诊病）

From the History of the Tgree Kingdoms 《三国志》. This excerpt is an example of why patients should avoid sexual intercourse if they have not yet recovered. Otherwise some serious consequences may occur. Dun Zixian 顿子献 ignored the advice of Hua Tuo 华佗 and died of the recurrent disease.

Mashed Garlic for Obstruction in the Throat（蒜剂治咽塞）

From the History of the Three Kingdoms《三国志》. Hua Tuo 华佗 successfully treated throat obstruction more than once and purged abdominal parasites by mashed garlic. Parasites hung on his wall were powerful evidence.

From Records of the Grand Historian 《史记》. This excerpt is a classic case of diagnosis in the medical history. Chunyu Yi 淳于意 (aka Cang Gong 仓公）correctly diagnosed Song Jian’s 宋建 renal obstruction and cured him with “Routang” 柔汤, a type of TCM formula.

This story was recorded in the Records of the Grand Historian 《史记》. Dafu 大夫 was a senior official rank in ancient China. This story told of Bian Que who was not only good at pulse-taking and making diagnosis, he was also knowledgeable on the history.

This story was recorded in the Records of the Grand Historian《史记》. Bian Que 扁鹊 adapted to the demand of the society by conforming to the local customs and serving local needs, and thus was deeply trusted and loved by people. This excerpt also reflects his supreme and comprehensive medical skills.

Bian Que Met with King Wu of Qin（扁鹊见秦武王）

This story is recorded in the Strategies of the Warring States 《战国策》. This excerpt recorded that Bian Que treated the disease of King Wu of Qin, which serves as a warning to rulers and governors that they should only talk about important matters with those who truly understand them. (Bian Que 扁鹊 , ca.700BCE, was the earliest known Chinese physician. His real name was said to be Qin Yueren 秦越人. King Wu of Qin 秦武王 310-307 BCE, was the ruler of the Qin State from the Warring States Period of Chinese history.)
