The 2023 Bible reading plan is much different than any we have ever done. We will follow the Bible’s record of how God has worked throughout history to bring us salvation in Jesus Christ. Most of the week’s readings will come from both the Old and New Testaments, revealing how Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. This plan is called the “Redemptive-Historical Bible Reading Plan” and was developed by Greg Lanier (glanier.wordpress.com). Lanier’s original plan can be found here: nhc.click/laniersplan. We have remained true to his plan, dividing it for reading over 52 weeks.

You can space out each week’s reading however you like, reading some each day or all at once. As you read, think about the following questions. You may want to keep a journal of your thoughts:

• What stood out to me?
• What questions were raised?
• What was revealed about Jesus?
• What was revealed about me?
• Is there an action or way to apply what I’ve read?

As we read this year, our prayer is that God would fill us with awe at the connections within His word that all point to Jesus. Jesus is the beginning and the end. May God deepen our understanding and faith in His incredible plan.
