    The Job Was Still Miserable. I Didn't Have to Be.

    One brutally cold construction day, I was exhausted, angry, and already wondering how I was going to make it through the rest of the shift. The weather never improved. The work didn’t get easier. But somewhere on a walk back to the van for my chop saw, something in my head changed. Sometimes we wait to feel motivated before we act, but it can work the other way around. The energy sometimes comes after the action, not before.     Am I Asking Too Many Questions as a Construction Apprentice?

    Asking questions is part of learning construction. But at some point, an apprentice also has to learn how to think through problems without immediately depending on someone else for the answer.
