Here’s what we cover in this episode:
Creating a true identity shift – from binge eater to “normal” or natural, peaceful eater.
The limitations and challenges of conventional approaches and programs
Why shifting from a restrictive mindset to an abundance mindset with food is key to ending disordered eating
How tiny daily actions add up to create massive changes
Breaking free from secrecy and sharing the journey with a supportive partner
Overcoming the fear of failing and believing in the possibility of transformation
Tune in for this raw and inspiring episode. -
Top Lessons from Ending a Multi-Decade Eating Disorder
Listen in as Rona, a smart, warm, and spiritually-inclined person, shares how she hit her rock bottom after trying to manage her binge eating for multiple decades.
After hitting rock bottom and deciding, "This is not the hill I die on," she finally freed herself from this cycle of suffering, and shares stories of her experience, and the most important insights that she gathered along the way.
This is one of my favorite conversations that I shared a few seasons ago, and I'm bringing it back today, because it's filled with gold!

Eating Disorder Therapist Who Struggled With Binges Tells All
Me and Eating Disorder Therapist Sarah Speers developed our eating disorders working at the same place.
Our paths went in different directions after that, and she first went the clinical route, where there is still widespread belief that binge eating and eating disorders are unfixable. (We discuss why this notion is 100% false, BTW.)
In this episode, Sarah and I cover:
👉 Why many of us start binge eating in the first place
👉 Why the majority of eating disorder treatment fails
👉 The hidden advantage that emotional eaters have
👉 Healing food issues on the physical, emotional, and soul levels
👉 How to ensure that you have a full, successful recovery from binge eating and emotional eating

How Laura Ended 20+ Years of Yo-Yo Dieting and Binging
Yo-yo dieting and the binge cycle are a rollercoaster – and not the fun kind.
If you have a long history of dieting, losing weight, binge eating, and gaining back the weight, this episode is a must-listen.
I bring on my special guest Laura, to share the details of how she not only broke the binge cycle, but learned how to eat naturally, without a single diet or food rule whatsoever.
Tune in.

Constantly Judging Yourself?
If criticizing ourselves helped us reach our goals, wouldn’t it have worked by now?
I’m sitting down with Suzi Lever, age 70 years old, as she shares her wisdom from her first-hand experience navigating the force of self-judgment, in her relationship with food.
We’re sharing how to navigate self-judgment along the recovery and healing journey.

So helpful but…
I’m about five episodes in and I really like this podcast. I’m trying to overcome BED and everything Katie says feels really true to me. Katie’s info is clear and concise but Shahar needs to stop interrupting her and trying to have the last word by simply repeating what Katie has already said. She seems slightly irritated with him—or I’m projecting my feelings. Since I’m only just beginning listening, I’m hoping this will simmer down a little bit because, looking ahead, many of the episodes look really interesting to me. I just don’t know if I can handle his interruptions.
Feels Scammy 😔
I resonate with the message in this postcast that you can become a normal eater and that you are not your disease forever. At least I hope that’s true.
But people get stuck in groups like OA because it’s accessible and free.
This podcast targets people who are suffering and then drags on about a solution that you can actually only get to past a $1,000 paywall.
That’s excessive, and not realistic for hardly anyone I’d imagine.
Love the early episodes
I found the first episodes really helpful and full of good advice, but since she added the co-host/ “mindset coach”, I just can’t listen anymore. He interrupts and just basically repeats what Katie says.
