They Rejected Jesus, But Still Confirmed He Existed!

Has anyone ever told you that Jesus never existed or that there is no evidence for Jesus outside the Bible? Historical evidence for Jesus appears in early Roman, Jewish, Greek, and Syrian writings—many written by people who were hostile to Christianity. In this episode of the Binmin Pops-cast, Dr. Bob Martin examines non-Christian sources that mention Jesus, His crucifixion, His followers, and the rapid spread of Christianity. Ancient writers such as Tacitus, Suetonius, Pliny the Younger, Josephus, Lucian, and writers connected with the Talmud provide important outside testimony about Jesus and the early church. These sources do not replace the New Testament, which remains our primary historical and theological witness. However, this historical evidence for Jesus supports many details found in Scripture. Hostile witnesses mention Jesus’ execution under Pontius Pilate, early Christian worship, persecution under Rome, moral conduct, belief in the resurrection, and the growth of Christianity across the Roman Empire. You will also discover why hostile testimony can be especially significant. When opponents of Christianity still acknowledge central facts about Jesus and His followers, their testimony strengthens confidence in the historical foundations of the New Testament. You do not need to have every answer before talking with someone about Jesus. Begin with a humble, thoughtful faith firmly rooted in Scripture. Learn the evidence, share it sensitively, and trust God with the conversation. The Archaeological Finds That Put Bible Doubts to the Test!

Is the Bible only a collection of legends, or is it grounded in real history? Biblical archaeology has uncovered places, inscriptions, buildings, and burial sites connected with people, places, and events described in Scripture. You will learn about a few of the discoveries connected with Nazareth, Bethlehem, Capernaum, the Pool of Bethesda, Peter, Caiaphas, Pontius Pilate, and Roman crucifixion. These discoveries do not save us or prove Christian faith in a laboratory only Jesus can save. But archaeology can demonstrate that the Bible speaks about real people, real locations, real political leaders, and real historical settings. Scripture names cities, rulers, religious leaders, political tensions, and physical landmarks that could be investigated. From the five colonnades described in John 5 to the inscription bearing Pontius Pilate’s name, biblical archaeology helps illuminate the historical world in which Jesus lived, suffered, died, and rose again. The Christian gospel is not merely an inspiring idea. It is good news about what God has done in history through Jesus Christ. The Real Reason You Stopped Growing Spiritually!

Most people don't stop growing spiritually because they stopped caring they stop because they're trying to grow closer to God completely alone. In this video we walk through how to build a simple 30-day spiritual growth plan and, more importantly, who to invite into it. Because here's the truth buried in Scripture: you can't do the "one anothers" by yourself. The New Testament uses the phrase "one another" over 50 times bear one another's burdens, love one another, be kind to one another. Spiritual accountability isn't a bonus. It's the design. If you've ever felt stuck spiritually, the people around you are how you both diagnose your next step and actually take it. We'll cover three places to start right where you live (a roommate or friend), one step up (a mentor or pastor), and going deeper (a church and small group) plus the seven areas of the spiritual life that help you find your real next step. 🧭 Take the free Spiritual Life Assessment → https://binmin.org 📩 Join the newsletter → https://binmin.org/newsletter/ SUBSCRIBE to our channel / @binmin_org JOIN the NEWSLETTER at https://binmin.org/newsletter/ SUPPORT Binmin with a tax-deductible gift HERE - https://binmin.org/donate 00:00 Why We Stop Growing Spiritually 00:58 We Don’t Grow Alone 01:51 Start With People Already Near You 02:37 Ask a Mentor or Pastor for Help 03:34 Connect in a Church and Small Group 04:13 Build Your 30-Day Growth Plan 04:31 Choose Your Next Spiritual Growth Area 05:22 Take the Spiritual Life Assessment 05:47 The S-T-E-P Plan Explained 05:59 S: Get Specific 06:30 T: Recruit Your Team 06:51 E: Execute With Grace 07:11 P: Pray Through the Process 07:56 Like, Share, Comment, and Newsletter JOIN the NEWSLETTER. Don't Let Shame Destroy These 3 Christian Relationship Pillars

Shame in Christian relationships can quietly make you hide from the very people you want to love and be loved by. In this Binmin episode, we talk honestly about why shame builds emotional walls, why vulnerability feels dangerous, and how fear of rejection can keep you distant from friends, dating relationships, small groups, roommates, pastors, counselors, and even God. When you secretly believe something is wrong with you, it becomes easier to avoid being fully known. You may want deep connection but still pull away when someone gets close. You may want real friendship but keep conversations surface-level. You may want to date with courage but feel trapped by the fear of rejection. This episode looks at shame through the story of Adam and Eve hiding in Genesis 3 and connects that biblical picture to the way we still hide today. We also talk about practical steps toward wise vulnerability: sharing honestly, asking better questions, following up with people, and learning how to open up without being reckless. Vulnerability is not pretending every relationship is safe. It means taking wise, prayerful steps toward deeper connection while rooting your identity in Christ. If you feel lonely, guarded, rejected, embarrassed, or afraid to let people see the real you, this conversation is for you. God sees you, knows you, loves you, and gives you courage to move toward healthier Christian relationships. Why You Feel Like You’re Not Enough

Not enough is a phrase many of us hear in our own heads long before anyone says it out loud. Maybe you feel not enough because of how you look, how well you perform, what you post, what you regret, or how many times you have failed in the same area again, or what you heard repeatedly as a child. In this Binmin conversation, we talk honestly about shame, guilt, sin, worth, and what God says is true about you. Shame often says, “I am bad.” Guilt says, “I did something wrong.” That difference matters, because if shame becomes your identity, it can make you hide from God, push away people who love you, and believe your sin gets the final word over your life. But the Bible gives a deeper answer. You are created by God in his image. You are also a sinner who cannot fix your own sin problem. And if you are trusting Jesus, you are in Christ, made new, loved, forgiven, and given a new identity that shame cannot erase. This episode is for Christians who feel tired, guilty, ashamed, spiritually stuck, or quietly convinced they will never be enough. We look at Ephesians 2, Isaiah 59, and 2 Corinthians 5:17 to see how the gospel speaks to the deepest parts of our identity. If you are wrestling with the thought, “I’m not enough,” this conversation will help you see yourself through God’s eyes and take one practical next step: recite your new identity in Christ. Why You React the Way You Do Under Pressure

Did you know that past trauma can make you react in ways you do not fully understand? Humans have four typical reactions to frightening situations. They are: fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. But God’s Word can heal you! In this episode, we talk honestly about trauma responses through a Christian lens without making the conversation mystical, trendy, or anti-biblical. Trauma is not rare, and many people carry the effects of painful experiences into later relationships, conflicts, and fears. Whether your response looks like anger, avoidance, freezing, or fawning, this conversation helps you begin to name what is happening with clarity and compassion. As we examine the four common trauma responses: fight, flight, freeze, and fawn. We also look at biblical examples of each. Specifically, Peter, Jonah, Job, and Abraham to see how real people respond to fear, threat, grief, and pressure. Most importantly, this episode points toward hope: healing from trauma happens in the ultimate safe relationship with Jesus. We never need to protect ourselves from Him. And God also uses the body of Christ, trusted pastors, counselors, and safe Christian friends to help us relearn that not everyone is unsafe. If you feel stuck in fear, withdrawal, anger, shutdown, or people-pleasing, this episode is not here to shame you. It is here to help you take one honest next step toward healing, freedom, and deeper trust in God. Bitterness or Healing? Choose Your Path

When your parents hurt you, it can be hard to know what to do with the pain. Do you stuff it down, blast them, stay bitter, or try to pretend it did not matter? In this Binmin conversation, Bob and Aaron talk honestly about the pain of being raised by imperfect parents and how Christians can begin to heal without ignoring what happened. Whether your family pain came from mild wounds, painful words, emotional neglect, or deeper hurt, the Bible gives us a better path than denial, bitterness, or public parent-shaming. This episode walks through three biblical steps toward healing from parent wounds: identify the hurt, seek wise communication, and choose forgiveness. We talk about lament in the Psalms, why God can handle your honesty, how curiosity can change hard conversations, and why forgiveness does not mean pretending the hurt never happened. Psalm 147:3 reminds us that God “heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Romans 3:23 reminds us that all people, including moms and dads, are sinners in need of grace. And Hebrews 8:12 gives us a picture of how God chooses to remember our sins no more. If you are still hurt by your parents, struggling with bitterness, afraid to talk about family pain, or unsure how to forgive while still having healthy boundaries, this episode is for you. God does not ask you to stuff your pain. He invites you to bring it honestly to Him and take your next step toward healing. Did the New Testament Authors Lie? The Evidence Says No!

When it comes to the New Testament, we look at 6 reasons to trust the New Testament authors as reliable witnesses to Jesus miraculous life, teaching, death, resurrection, and ascension. Christians can confidently build their lives on the New Testament today. Imagine you were on a jury for a murder trial. What would make you trust the witnesses? You would want several trustworthy eyewitnesses. You would look for testimony that was serious, consistent, not exaggerated, and not self-serving. When we apply those same standards to the New Testament authors, their testimony is overwhelming. The New Testament was written close to the events it describes, while eyewitnesses were still alive. The writers include embarrassing details about Jesus, his family and the apostles. They lived with integrity, taught holiness and honesty, and had no obvious earthly gain from making up their message. In fact, many of them suffered, lost safety and status, and were martyred for proclaiming Jesus’ resurrection. People may die for a lie, but not for what they know is a lie. So, can you trust the New Testament? The evidence gives us strong reasons to say yes. And if the New Testament authors are trustworthy, their message is not merely interesting history. It is a call to trust Jesus as Savior and Lord.
