Ed Gein: Serial Murderer? Butcher? Or......Seamstress?

It was unusual that Bernice Warden was not behind the cash register as customers took turns entering the general store. Then they remembered it was the first day of deer hunting season, so maybe she was out in the field trying her luck. However, when Deputy Frank Warden showed up to say hello to his mother, Bernice, he noticed something the others had not. The cash register was missing. A rifle was not in it's place on the shelf. There was blood on the floor. A receipt showed the previous day's last sale - a purchase of antifreeze. It told the Deputy who he needed to talk to for answers. but it could never have told him what he'd find when that conversation came to fruition. As officers made their way to the outbuilding, they were met with twilight. Armed with flashlights and apprehension, they found Bernice. She was hanging nude, beheaded, from the rafters on Ed Gein's property. She had been slaughtered as one would slaughter an animal. Unfortunately for the officers, they were unaware that they would only find worse things as they made their way through the house. This bizarre and terrifying saga is one that starts with isolation, abuse, and fanatical prudence - but ends with grave robbing, murder, and the need for one man to not only idolize his mother, but BECOME her. Join Andrea Up Late and Brian Sanders as they explore the complexities of a man who had reality twisted in such a way, the hair on your neck will stand up. The entertainment industry has used this real life horror show as inspiration for movies such as Psycho, Silence of the Lambs, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and much more. Black Dahlia Part 2- Interview with Steve Hodel

PART 2 - Interview With Steve Hodel: Andrea and Brian sit down with a retired LAPD detective who has investigated this case for over two decades - and finds his father to be guilty of the heinous murder. Watch this week as we sit down with Steve Hodel to discuss his childhood, father, and the results of this wild investigation. Season 4 Episode 2:When Betty Bersinger took a morning stroll with her daughter, she thought it odd that a disassembled mannequin would be lying by the sidewalk near her home. But the horrific reality was that it was the corpse of Elizabeth Short. Elizabeth's porcelain skin, raven black hair, ice blue eyes, and crimson lips were striking. But no more so than the condition of her corpse, mutilated, when found lying in two parts. The Glasgow smile, missing skin, and bisected body would fuel the nightmares of journalists and first responders for years. In 1940's Hollywood, Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart, and Bette Davis were headliners. But one young woman from Massachusetts was making her way. Elizabeth "Beth" Short was a young woman with family on each side of country. A lung condition forced her to seek warm air and to remove herself from the harsh climate of the northeast winters. After a prolonged estrangement from her father, Elizabeth set out to once again experience the west coast and establish her identity. But a string of failed relationships and one hardship after another left her often seeking a warm meal and shelter where it could be found. Unfortunately, her life was cut short when she fell into the company of a still unknown suspect. Her blood was drained, empty concrete bags were littered, and multiple taunting letters sent to the LAPD - yet this case remains officially unsolved. But- has new evidence changed that?Join Andrea Up Late and Brian Sanders as they dive into part 1 of the story of the Black Dahlia. Holly Bobo: Murdered: Will the Past Conviction Stand?

The spring of 2011 was starting to warm up the rural west Tennessee community of Decatur County. 20 year old Holly Bobo was in a serious relationship, lived at home with her loving family, and was studying to become a nurse. On the morning of April 13, Holly woke before dawn to get some last minute studying done. She said goodbye to both her mother and father as they each left for work. She then eventually gathered her backpack and lunch and headed out the door, never to be seen again. Her sleeping brother, Clint, was woken by Holly's dog barking relentlessly. Stumbling through the home and peeking out windows, Clint heard Holly crying, and saw two figures in the carport. He then saw Holly with a man heading into the woods. But miscommunication and misunderstanding prevailed that morning. Clint had no idea that he was witnessing his sister's abduction in real time. Years later, a series of charges were brought about. Convictions were made. Charges were dropped. Stories were changed. Counsel was admittedly ineffective. And the one man not convicted? A documented stalker, and more importantly, a sexual deviant, that lived not far away. His alibi doesn't hold up. DNA, cadaver dogs, and cell phone tracking - oh my.Join Andrea Up Late and Brian Sanders as they dissect this case from start to finish. Maybe bring a pencil to keep track of the madness. Feeney Family Murders: Revisited

Season 3 Episode 33: It was February of 1995. Jon Feeney was a high school chemistry teacher, and his wife Cheryl was a respected nurse in the gynecological surgery team at the local Cox Hospital. Together they had two children: 6 year old Tyler, and 18 month old Jennifer. Jon set out for a teacher's conference retreat in nearby Lake of the Ozarks, and nothing was ever the same. After family phone calls went unanswered, a well meaning call was made to law enforcement to check on Cheryl and the children. What was found inside the home chilled first responders to the core. All three were savagely slain. Jon had not been home, and no suspect seemed immediately obvious. But time went on, and Jon's alibi seemingly unraveled. The scene was that out of a movie, staged to an extreme degree. Painted messages on the wall. Cheryl's waterbed temperature on the highest setting. And so, so much more. As rumors spread about Jon's reputation around other women, and more importantly- students in his school, a new motive was formed. 30 years later, there has been no conviction. But what do you think? Lilly and Jack Sullivan: Where Are Those Babies?

Season 3 Episode 30: Update in the ongoing investigation:It has been one month since Jack and Lilly Sullivan, ages 4 and 6, disappeared from their rural Nova Scotia home. The children's mother and stepfather claim the two must have "wandered outside to play." They state that immediately upon realizing the children were not just outside their home, they called 911. And they quickly speculated abduction. However, the lead investigators on the case stated from the very beginning they aren't led to believe the children had been taken, and most recently, scaled back search efforts in a massive way. They did this with the language that they are focusing on "more specific areas" and state they wouldn't be doing this if they believe the children to be alive. We have missing school days, electronics searches, and dogs, drones, divers, oh my. Social media profile changes and the decision their mother made to leave the family home, leave some with suspicions. The step father's constant on air presence leaves others uneasy. Or was this a tragic accident? Join Andrea and Brian as they comb trough this ever-developing story of two children that simply need to be found. We will continue to bring updates as they come.
