In this episode of "Transforming Prisons," we delve into the groundbreaking concept of The Prison Monastery, where the penitentiary is reimagined as a place for contemplation, self-discovery, and contribution. Hosted by Cierra , we explore how this innovative approach aims to turn shame into meaningful societal contribution.
At the heart of The Prison Monastery is "The Art of Soulmaking" workbook, often referred to as a "monastery in a book." Currently operating in 408 facilities across the country, The Prison Monastery boasts an impressive 35,000 participants actively engaged in the program. Bobby Bostic

    Bobby Bostic

In this episode, we delve into the inspiring journey of Bobby Bostic, a man who experienced the harsh realities of the American justice system at a young age but emerged as a beacon of hope and resilience. Bobby's story is one of transformation, redemption, and unwavering determination.
As a juvenile, Bobby found himself caught in the web of the legal system, sentenced to a staggering 241 years in prison for a series of crimes he committed at the age of 16. Despite the enormity of his sentence, Bobby refused to be defined by his past. Behind bars, he immersed himself in education and self-improvement, determined to make the most of his time despite the seemingly insurmountable odds stacked against him.
However, Bobby's story took a dramatic turn when changes in legislation regarding juvenile sentencing offered him a glimmer of hope. After serving over two decades in prison, Bobby's sentence was commuted, granting him a second chance at life outside the confines of a cell.
Since his release, Bobby has wasted no time in giving back to his community and advocating for criminal justice reform. He has become a powerful voice for change, sharing his story to raise awareness about the flaws in the system and to offer hope to those who have been similarly affected by incarceration.
Bobby seeks to break down barriers and dismantle the stereotypes associated with formerly incarcerated individuals through his work. He is living proof that rehabilitation is possible and everyone deserves a second chance.
Join us as we explore Bobby Bostic's remarkable journey from incarceration to inspiration, and discover how he is making a difference in the lives of others through his resilience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to justice.
