The Holy Spirit is often one of the most talked about, and at the same time, least understood, parts of the Christian faith. For many believers, the concept can feel distant or unclear. Questions come up naturally: How does He work? Where does He show up in my life? How do I actually relate to Him? In this episode, we take a step back to explore a simple but important question: Why do we need the Holy Spirit? There’s a thought that has been sitting with us: necessity begets creation, but when the purpose of something is not understood, misuse is inevitable. It’s like a car that was designed to carry people from one place to another. If someone sees it only as an art piece, they may admire it, keep it safe, and never use it — but over time, it loses its function. Not because it was broken, but because it was misunderstood. In many ways, that’s how the Holy Spirit can be treated. We acknowledge Him, we speak about Him, but sometimes we don’t fully understand His role in our everyday lives. Scripture describes the Holy Spirit as our Helper, Comforter, Guide, Teacher, and Reminder (John 14:26). He is not distant or abstract — He is present, active, and deeply involved in the life of the believer. But beyond these roles, what is His central purpose? Why did Jesus say it was better for Him to go so the Holy Spirit could come? In this conversation, we explore what it means to truly engage with the Holy Spirit, not just as a concept, but as a person. We talk about how we relate to Him, how we become more aware of His presence, and how we avoid taking Him for granted in our daily lives.
