The Next Trip - An Aviation and Travel Podcast

I discovered your podcast two years ago, subsequently binged every episode, and am finally with the rest of the avgeeks that patiently await the Monday morning drop. Your podcast—and aviation in general—has proven to be a welcome distraction from the stress I experience as a nurse. (It was honestly a little surreal to listen to pre- and during-COVID episodes.) From your creation of the word “avsplain” to the way you give us a glimpse into the professional aviation world, I appreciate your balance of humor and expertise. I also enjoy the nostalgia you toss in, such as the occasional and recent mention of my hometown’s (former) airline, Midwest Express. My first flight ever was from MKE to MCO on a Midwest DC-9 in the early 90’s and yes, those fresh, baked-on-board cookies were the absolute best. On the way home from that particular flight, we had to divert to Kansas City due to weather. Where some might have been annoyed at the extra stop and delay, my 7-year-old-self couldn’t be more excited for a bonus takeoff and landing. I could go on for hours, but I’ll leave with one suggestion: You both should come to AirVenture at Oshkosh one of these years and do a podcast there. Until then, thanks for a phenomenal podcast. You guys present the latest updates in the industry, along with operations explainers that feed the curiosity of lifetime avgeeks like me! My family know Doug and Drew, because I talk about the podcast when we’re traveling (ie “maybe Doug is flying us out of SFO?” Or “we might finally run into Drew at DCA!”). You guys are professional, conversational and lighthearted, and this podcast is my escape from my daily grind. Cheers to your 300th episode and to many more!!
