125 - How to Answer Tough Bible Questions with Daniel Buttafuoco

Has someone asked you a tough question about Christianity, and you wished you had a clear, confident answer? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, Missy talks with trial lawyer and Christian apologist Daniel P. Buttafuoco about his book, Unapologetic: Clear Answers to Tough Bible Questions, A Trial Lawyer's Guide to Winning People, Not Just Arguments. Drawing from decades of courtroom experience, Daniel explains why the Christian faith is reasonable, historically grounded, and supported by evidence. In this episode, Missy and Daniel discuss: Why Christians need to understand the reasons behind their faith How eyewitness testimony supports the reliability of the New Testament Why young believers need apologetics before entering college How to answer tough questions without losing sight of the person asking them Christianity is not a blind faith. We have sound reasons for what we believe, and we do not need to fear hard questions. Our goal is not to win an argument. It is to point people toward the truth and hope of Jesus Christ with clarity, humility, and grace. Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him! 124 - Christ Is Greater Than the Chaos with Mike Tatlock

Have you wondered how Christians can remain rooted in Christ and faithfully engage a culture filled with chaos, confusion, and compromise? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, Missy talks with pastor, author, and Portland Trail Blazers chaplain Mike Tatlock about his book, A Compelling Faith in a Compromising Culture. Mike explains why today's cultural climate feels like a storm and how believers can stand firm without retreating from the people and places God has called them to serve. He also shares how compromise begins when we agree with the wrong promises, how hidden altars can compete for our devotion, and the miraculous story of surviving a fall of nearly 600 feet while climbing Mount Hood. In this episode, Missy and Mike discuss: How believers can remain deeply rooted in Christ during cultural storms Why compromise begins when we agree with promises that contradict God's truth How success, comfort, money, and even our phones can become hidden altars Practical ways to engage others through prayer, relationships, thoughtful questions, and genuine follow-up This conversation is a powerful reminder that Christians should not run from the darkness. Christ in us is greater than the surrounding chaos, and God has placed each of us in a mission field where we live, work, and play. Have you wondered how Christians can recognize woke ideology without losing sight of truth, compassion, and the gospel? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, Missy talks with author and apologist Dr. Neil Shenvi about the new book he co-authored with Dr. Patrick Sawyer, Post-Woke: Asserting a Biblical Vision of Race, Gender, and Sexuality. He also shares practical guidance for navigating smartphones and social media, and reaching people with both courage and compassion. Christians must offer a better vision, one grounded in the truth, goodness, and beauty of God's Word. Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him! 122 - Preparing Your Student for the Lion's Den with Dr. Gary Lovejoy

Are we preparing our children for college, or simply sending them into the lion's den? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, Missy talks with Dr. Gary Lovejoy about his book, Students in the Lion's Den, and the growing concern many Christian parents have as their sons and daughters head off to college. Drawing from more than 30 years as a professor on a secular college campus and more than 40 years as a therapist, Dr. Lovejoy shares what he has seen firsthand as students wrestle with faith, loneliness, ideology, and the pressure to conform. He also offers practical wisdom for parents, churches, and students who want to stand firm in biblical truth without fear, anger, or panic. In this episode, Missy and Dr. Lovejoy discuss: Why many Christian students feel unprepared when their faith is challenged on campus How parents can respond when a child begins questioning or walking away from faith Why honest conversations before college matter more than lectures after the fact How churches and campus ministries can help students find biblical community and support This conversation is a powerful reminder that preparing students for college is about more than academics, scholarships, and dorm room supplies. It is about helping them build spiritual muscle, learn to ask good questions, and know why they believe what they believe before they enter the lion's den. 121 - Rooted in Truth and Ready to Stand with Sarah Rollandini

Are you prepared to stand for truth when it costs you something? In this episode of the Bold Faith Now podcast, Missy talks with Sarah Rollandini, author of Gird Your Loins: A 30-day Devotional for Courageous Faith, about what it means to be rooted in biblical truth and ready to live boldly for Jesus in today's culture. Sarah shares how her years as a public school teacher opened her eyes to the need for deeper discipleship, stronger biblical foundations, and believers who are prepared to give a reason for the hope they have in Christ.  In this episode, Missy and Sarah discuss: Why "gird your loins" is a call for believers to prepare their minds and stand firm How shallow discipleship leaves Christians unprepared for hard cultural questions Why speaking truth with grace may still offend, and why that should not stop us How weary believers can rely on Scripture, the Holy Spirit, prayer, and biblical community This conversation is a timely reminder that bold faith is not about being loud, harsh, or argumentative. It is about being prepared, standing firm in God's Word, and loving people enough to speak truth with courage and grace. Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him! 119 - When Church Becomes Family with Rich Griffith and JJ Jones

Have you ever wondered what it really means for the church to live like family? In this episode of Bold Faith Now, Missy talks with Dr. Rich Griffith and Dr. JJ Jones, co-writers of Reimagining Church as Family. Together, they discuss what it means for the church to move beyond programs, age groups, and traditional family structures, and truly live as the family of God. Rich and JJ remind us that discipleship doesn't need to become overly complicated or professionalized. Sometimes it looks like conversations in the car, sitting around a table, serving together, or helping younger generations discover their gifts. In this episode, Missy, Rich, and JJ discuss: Why the church must think biblically about family, not just culturally or biologically How systemic abandonment can leave young people, single parents, grandparents, seniors, and others feeling unseen Why intergenerational discipleship matters for the health of the church How every person in the body of Christ has something to offer, no matter their age, stage, or season of life Church family can be messy because people are messy. But when the church lives as the body of Christ, every generation has a seat at the table. Remember to live boldly for Jesus and let your light shine bright for Him!
