102 - How to Walk in Victory Over Sin with Karl Clauson

What is the one struggle you keep asking God to remove, but haven't yet surrendered fully to Him? In this episode of Bold Faith Now, Missy sits down with pastor, radio host, and author of Killing Sin: Conquer the One Thing That is Defeating You, Karl Clauson, to talk about an often-avoided topic: confronting the sin patterns that quietly shape our lives. Karl shares his powerful testimony of addiction, repentance, and transformation, explaining why so many believers remain stuck in a cycle of striving and failure. This episode is a call to rediscover the life-changing power of grace, not just for salvation, but for daily victory, and to embrace practical, biblical steps toward freedom. In this conversation, they discuss: Grace is not only what saves us, but it's what trains us. We cannot sanctify ourselves through effort; transformation comes by staying in a posture of dependence on Christ (Titus 2:11–12). Sin thrives in secrecy but loses power in the light. Honest confession to God and trusted believers is a biblical pathway to healing and freedom (1 John 1:9; James 5). Victory requires spiritual action. Karl's framework—Confess it. Attack it with Scripture. Block it with boundaries — believers actively cooperate with God's work in their lives. We don't defeat sin by willpower. We overcome by daily relying on the grace, truth, and authority we already have in Jesus. 101 - When God Feels Silent and You Still Choose Faith with Jeff Leonard

Why does God sometimes feel hardest to find when we need Him most? In this episode of Bold Faith Now, Missy Eversole sits down with Bible professor and author Dr. Jeff Leonard to explore the tension many believers experience: a sincere faith alongside seasons when God feels distant. Drawing from Scripture, personal experience, and the themes of his book Seekers in the Hands of an Elusive God, Jeff explains why God's seeming hiddenness is not a flaw in our faith journey; it may actually be an invitation to seek Him more deeply.  In this conversation, they discuss: God's elusiveness is not abandonment. It can protect us from reducing Him to something small or controllable. Seeking strengthens faith. The most enduring faith is often formed in the desert, not in comfort. Scripture remains our surest guide. When feelings fluctuate, God's Word steadies our understanding of who He is. God reveals Himself in unexpected places. Nature, solitude, suffering, joy, and even mortality can draw us toward Him. If you've ever wondered where God is in the darkness, this conversation offers both perspective and hope.
