No Longer Condemned – Living at Your New Address Romans 7:15–8:2 Have you ever found yourself saying, "I should have done better... I should be further ahead... I should be more patient..."? Many of us live with an inner voice that constantly reminds us where we've fallen short. In Romans 7, the apostle Paul describes that same struggle. He wanted to do what was right, yet found himself battling the pull of sin. It's a tension every Christian knows. The good news is that Romans doesn't end in chapter 7. Paul's cry, "Who will rescue me?" is answered with one glorious truth: Jesus Christ. Through His death and resurrection, we are no longer condemned, and through the Holy Spirit we are given the power to live a new life. In this message we explore the difference between living under law and living under grace, and why the Christian life isn't about trying harder—it's about living from a new identity in Christ. If you've ever felt trapped by guilt, failure or the endless cycle of "I should...", this message is a reminder that Christ has already changed your address. You don't live under condemnation anymore. You belong to Him. In this episode Why Christians still struggle with sinThe difference between living under law and living under graceWhat Paul means by "There is now no condemnation"How the Holy Spirit transforms us from the inside outLearning to recognise the voice of grace instead of the voice of condemnationKey Scriptures Romans 7:15–8:2Romans 5Romans 6:1–11Matthew 11:28–30Memorable Quote "The Christian life isn't about trying harder to become acceptable to God. It's about walking with the God who has already accepted us through Christ." If this episode encouraged you, we'd love you to subscribe, share it with a friend, and join us as we continue exploring the practical outworking of the book of Romans. Living at the New Address Romans 6:1-11 When we give our lives to Christ, something profound happens. We are set free from the power of sin and death and brought into new life in Him. Yet many Christians still wrestle with an uncomfortable question: If I've been given new life in Christ, why do I still struggle with old habits, old temptations, and old ways of thinking? In this message, Paul Mulroney explores Romans 6:1-11 and the Apostle Paul's teaching on our new identity in Christ. Through personal testimony, practical examples, and biblical insight, we discover that the Christian life is not about trying harder to become someone new—it is about learning to live as the person Christ has already made us to be. The moment we give our lives to Christ, we are set free from the power of sin and death. But it takes time for our thinking and habits to catch up. Romans 6 reminds us that we are no longer defined by our old life. We have been given a new address, a new identity, and a new future in Christ. In this message: What it means to be united with Christ in His death and resurrectionWhy grace is not a licence to continue sinningThe difference between sin's presence and sin's powerHow our identity in Christ shapes the way we liveWhy mindset matters in the Christian lifeLearning to live at the new address instead of continually visiting the old oneKey Scripture Romans 6:1-11 Key Quote "The challenge of the Christian life is learning to live at the new address instead of continually visiting the old one." Reflection Questions What old habits or patterns am I tempted to revisit?Do I see myself primarily through my failures, or through my identity in Christ? What would it look like to live today from my new address rather than my old one?How might God be inviting me to renew my thinking so that my habits catch up with the new life He has already given me?About Bold Light Podcast Bold Light Podcast is a ministry of Paul and Caroline Mulroney, itinerant pastors with C3 Stand in Perth, Western Australia. The Waiting Isn't Wasted Have you ever wondered why following Jesus doesn't automatically make life easier? Many people come to faith hoping their problems will disappear, only to discover that Christians still face trials, setbacks, uncertainty, and seasons of waiting. In Romans 5:1-8, the Apostle Paul gives us a different perspective. Rather than promising a trouble-free life, he shows us how God uses the challenges we face to transform us from the inside out. In this message, Paul Mulroney explores the progression found in Romans 5: Peace with God → Grace → Trials → Endurance → Character → Hope Far from being wasted, the difficulties we face can become the very means by which God shapes us into the likeness of Christ. Drawing on personal stories, the experience of Abraham and Sarah, and Jesus' teaching about following Him in a difficult world, this message encourages us to trust God's timing, embrace His refining work, and discover that hope in Christ never disappoints. Key Scriptures Romans 5:1-8Genesis 18:1-15; 21:1-7Psalm 116:1-2, 12-19Matthew 9:35-10:8, 9-23Key Thought Pressure produces perseverance. Perseverance produces character. Character produces hope. Questions for Reflection What trial or challenge am I facing right now?How might God be using this season to build endurance, character, or hope in me?Am I focused on what I am doing, or on who God is calling me to become?Where is God asking me to trust His timing rather than rushing ahead?About Bold Light Bold Light is a ministry of Paul and Caroline Mulroney, itinerant pastors with C3 Stand, sharing biblical teaching, encouragement, and practical discipleship with churches and communities across regional Western Australia.

Build the World, Build Community In this Trinity Sunday message from Cuballing Uniting Church, Paul explores how the readings from Genesis 1, Psalm 8 and Matthew 28 reveal God's purpose for humanity. From the beginning, God created people in His image and entrusted them with the care of creation. Jesus later commissions His followers to make disciples and build Christian community. Together, these passages reveal a simple but profound calling: build the world and build community. Drawing on stories from engineering, gardening, hospitality, volunteer emergency services, and rural ministry, Paul reflects on how every person carries a spark of God's creativity and how that creativity can be used to bring shalom—God's peace, flourishing and wholeness—into the world around us. Whether through practical acts of service, caring for creation, encouraging others, or investing in Christian community, we are invited to participate in God's ongoing work of restoration and renewal. Don’t Drift. Stay Dependent. 1 Peter 4:12-14, 5:6-11 What does it mean to live faithfully as Christians in a culture that increasingly does not understand Christian hope, values, or priorities? In this message, Paul Mulroney explores Peter’s encouragement to believers living as “strangers in a strange land” — citizens of heaven navigating a world that often pulls us away from dependence on God. While many Australian Christians may not experience persecution in the biblical sense, we do face other pressures: distraction,self-reliance,anxiety,spiritual drift, cultural compromise, and the temptation to live as though God is optional.Drawing from 1 Peter 4–5, Paul unpacks two key themes: dependence on God,and the danger of spiritual drift. This message explores how trials can refine our faith, why humility is really about dependence on God, and how modern life slowly draws our attention away from Christ. Through personal stories, practical application, and pastoral encouragement, this sermon reminds us that: The same God who calls us also strengthens us. The same God who refines us also restores us. If you remember one thing from this message, remember this: Don’t drift. Stay dependent. Stay close to Jesus.
