85 episodes

Boring Books for Bedtime is a weekly bedtime story podcast for the sleepless, the stressed, the anxious, the insomniacs--anyone who struggles with the endless brain chatter that keeps us up at night.

In each episode, we calmly, quietly read something that's rather boring. Think Galileo, Aristotle, Emerson, and whoever wrote the 1897 Sears Catalog. If you're on Team Sleepless, lie back, take a deep breath, and let us read you to rest.

Last night... I fell asleep in less than an hour!! This podcast is just amazing! Why am I getting so excited about this? Maybe because I usually fall asleep near 1:00AM? Probably. Amazing. Brilliant. Wonderful. Perfect. Terrific. How do I even explain how this podcast is?

Finally getting sleep

I’ve suffered chronic insomnia for the last 5 years. I’ve tried everything from natural remedies to dozens of rx drugs that didn’t work and had horrible side effects. My doctors are stumped. But this podcast has helped me drift off peacefully and naturally! It doesn’t work every night, but when you routinely go for 5 days without a wink this seems like a miracle worker. (And on nights I don’t sleep I still learn something interesting. I’m actually really interested in most of the “boring” books haha.)

Shoutout to the Sears Catalog and Mrs. Beeton’s guide to household management.
