Supplies needed: Netflix login and password Transcript: Heather (00:01.134) Hello and welcome to Borrow Some Besties. I am playing the part of one of your besties today. I'm Heather. Erica Spring (00:11.584) I'm Erica. I see that it has my whole name on it. That's fantastic. She's just Heather. Like Cher. I'm Erica Spring. Heather (00:16.59) Nice. Heather (00:23.598) Madonna, but not Erica Spring (00:25.943) For now. Heather (00:28.918) Okay, so Erica Spring (00:29.838) I can only hope to get to that status. Heather (00:32.936) You could take it to that status. I'm serious. Okay, so this is Borrow Some Besties, and this is a podcast that is designed to help reduce loneliness by giving you a couple of people to do things with. It's not meant to be education, therapeutic advice, anything having to do with our job. this is for entertainment purposes only. Erica Spring (00:37.784) Okay. Heather (01:01.132) Have I covered all the disclosures? Erica Spring (01:05.025) Yeah, I mean I just just enjoy. Enjoy. Heather (01:05.527) I think so. Heather (01:10.336) Enjoy. We are watching Sean Combs The Reckoning Episode One. And we are hitting play in three, two, one, go. Erica Spring (01:11.263) No bird. Heather (01:24.418) Netflix just came up. Perfect. I heard yours. Erica Spring (01:31.722) No, you did not. Mine's on silent. Heather (01:36.886) I heard that Erica Spring (01:37.504) That was all you Yeah, that was all you. Erica Spring (01:44.544) I don't have my volume on. Erica Spring (01:49.205) Fun fact, I never have the volume on for anything. Heather (01:52.894) Weird. Uh-huh. Erica Spring (01:56.17) I just I read the subtitles. I read T V. Heather (02:00.757) I do that too. Like same. And I have tried to figure it out because I'll like to watch videos and it's like, am I looking at the other stuff in the video? But no, I'm just reading it. Erica Spring (02:16.98) I love it. Like I have never understood when people are like I have to have to see to listen and I'm like, tell me more and apparently I'm the that has wires crossed. Like Heather (02:29.142) Hmm. Heather (02:33.133) Hm. Erica Spring (02:34.281) I didn't know that this was connected here, but that's cute. Heather (02:39.605) Mm-hmm. you think you have the response to them? Erica Spring (02:41.611) It's how I I guess the humans know that you're listening. Heather (02:48.139) Mm-hmm. Erica Spring (02:50.802) Nobody's listening to Diddy. Heather (02:52.019) I like mm hmm. I like being able to see people's lips so I can read their lips. But closed captioning is my number one. Erica Spring (03:07.43) Absolutely. My grandpa was very hearing impaired, like totally, totally deaf. But he never ever learned any sign. But he he would read lips like perfectly and like you didn't have to say shit 'cause you would just be like thinking about it and he'd be like Erica Spring (03:31.687) He always knew, but he didn't hear shot. Erica Spring (03:36.829) He never heard Daddy. There you go. Heather (03:37.056) Same with my grandpa. Heather (03:41.601) But my grandpa was completely deaf and spent time in the Japanese theater in World War Two. Is that no, Pacific Theater. Pacific Theater, yeah. Erica Spring (03:51.923) Dang. Erica Spring (03:55.753) Let's see if he was out there. Heather (03:59.102) Mm-hmm. So okay, so I heard something funny, and I don't know if it's accurate, but Kitty had the idea to do this. Here's what I think I heard. Okay. He had the idea to do this. So he had people like following him and taping for like a year. And then he got arrested and was like, Y'all, I can't pay you. Erica Spring (04:09.288) Mm-hmm. Heather (04:28.743) My bad. And so I don't remember I think it was like maybe 50 cents or Kanye or another person in that realm was just kind of like, he ain't paying you because I got some money and bought all of the footage. Erica Spring (04:47.313) The Yeah, that's it's fif it's fifty cent. He's like the biggest troll ever. And he's had beef with him for a long time and so he created this right here. He did this whole project that we're watching. And he literally just did it to to f**k with him because he could. Heather (05:05.405) Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Heather (05:11.597) I think that's awesome. Erica Spring (05:13.391) I like that. Like I I think I mean I'm sure that like there's some kind of psychopathy there, but like I love it. Like I love a plan. I love a planner. You know? I like somebody who plays the longest game. I love it. Like it's not the person that you just see right in front of you. It's the person that was right there the whole time. I love it. Heather (05:28.396) Mm-hmm. Heather (05:38.945) Yeah. Yeah. Erica Spring (05:40.91) He just waited a good twenty years to be like, I got you and he did. Heather (05:47.742) And he did. Yep. Erica Spring (05:49.038) And see, and Diddy took one of his baby mamas, Daphne Joy, who's in here, that's fifty cents baby mama. And she was one of the first victims that came out and was like, I'm not a victim, like I'm in love with this man. And he's like he's like, My ex is a sex worker. Shit. Like he's just blowing her up. Like so it it's it is personal for him. Like he he did this for fun. Heather (06:18.429) Mm-hmm. That's funny. It reminds me of like it's different and I know it is, but like the pranks that they talk about on set that some actors will do to each other just makes me laugh. Erica Spring (06:36.623) I'm not actually a prankster, are you? Heather (06:39.927) Yeah. Yeah, but mine yeah. Well mine is not so much like I'm gonna set up a whole lot of stuff, but I do enjoy like seeing people get theirs, right? So maybe that's not pranking per se, but like I don't know. Erica Spring (06:41.903) Like it never it never occurs to me. Erica Spring (07:09.72) I mean I've been around pranksters and I d yeah, I don't particularly like that 'cause it's not predictable. And it's always open interpretation what you think is funny. Like I have a feeling that fifty cent literally thinks that this shit's funny. I have a feeling that Deddy does not think that it's funny. Heather (07:17.717) Mm. Heather (07:24.149) Mm-hmm. Yeah. Is he out or is he still in? He's still in, yeah. Erica Spring (07:33.576) He's in but they moved up his they moved up his discharge state again. Heather (07:42.441) Okay. Okay. Erica Spring (07:46.091) So it does suck because like okay, like you know I'm a music fan, okay, like I grew up with this. I that album that they just had, me and my sister all day long, all day long, know every word, know all of his proteges. Heather (07:55.404) Mm, mm, mhm, mhm. Mm. Erica Spring (08:04.854) And I mean I think as white women it's important to just acknowledge this. He is somebody who made it in the black community in a very, very commercialized white space. Heather (08:23.884) Yes. Erica Spring (08:24.022) Like the concept of like the safe black person. Heather (08:29.803) Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Erica Spring (08:31.518) somehow he managed in this career to to move away from just being a rapper to being in everybody's living room. Heather (08:42.285) Mm-hmm. Heather (08:46.283) Mm-hmm. Erica Spring (08:48.661) Kinda like what you see with like Snoop Dogg right now. Like Snoop Dogg used to be like a a r real gangster rapper and he was up for murder one charges. And now he's commentating on the Olympics. Heather (08:59.585) Know that. Heather (09:03.533) I didn't know that either. that's funny. Erica Spring (09:10.785) I mean, I just remember when rappers just did crimes. Heather (09:15.091) Mm-hmm. And didn't tell anyone about them outside of the people they were with. Erica Spring (09:16.797) And no. No. And they certainly were not trying to get in every white person's radio or every white person's living room. So it's an interesting concept because he really, really did become something that people were very comfortable with. So when people are like, I'm shocked, it's like, do you not know anything about him? Like he's been involved in multiple shootings. Heather (09:28.567) So Heather (09:34.636) Mm-hmm. Heather (09:45.709) Hmm. I didn't know that. Erica Spring (09:51.006) With with Jennifer Locust, yeah. Like they had a sh a nightclub shootout. He definitely shot somebody. He let somebody else take the rap. No, shot at somebody else and killed somebody and they they escaped. And he Yeah He gave the gun to somebody else and that guy did I don't know, twenty Heather (09:57.89) He shot at her? Heather (10:05.505) Him and Jennifer Lopez? Heather (10:15.615) shit. Erica Spring (10:15.849) But he was taken care of. And then, you know, there's all always been the implication that he had something to do with Tupac and Biggie, both of them being murdered. And the guy finally, in Big or in Tupac's case, they finally have somebody who they have said is guilty. And their DA said that they are
