Bengals-Bears Joint Practice Had EVERYTHING! Biggest Takeaways + Bengals vs. Bears Preview, Matchups

The Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears got plenty of valuable work in during Thursday’s joint practice, and now the focus turns toward Saturday night’s preseason matchup at Paycor Stadium. The joint practice gave both teams an opportunity to see their starters and young players compete against a different opponent, and for Cincinnati, the defense was one of the biggest stories of the day. The Bengals generated consistent pressure, with Dexter Lawrence making a major impact, while Myles Murphy and rookie Cashius Howell also flashed as pass rushers. The secondary created some big plays as well, including interceptions from Josh Newton and Barrett Carter. Today's podcast is presented by Sharefax Credit Union! Joe Burrow connected with Tee Higgins on a deep completion and Ja’Marr Chase made a terrific sideline catch, while Chase Brown continued to show why he is such an important piece of this Bengals offense. At the same time, the Bears' defense created some pressure and made plays of its own, making the practice a valuable test for Cincinnati heading into the weekend. Now, the Bengals turn the page to Saturday’s preseason game against the Bears. Zac Taylor has announced that Cincinnati’s starters will not play in the remaining preseason games, meaning this matchup becomes even more important for rookies, young players and those fighting for roster spots. Players like Cashius Howell, Tacario Davis, Colbie Young, Landon Robinson and Jack Endries will have opportunities to make their cases. With the regular season getting closer, Saturday night will be another important evaluation period for the Bengals as they continue figuring out their 53-man roster and building depth across the team. #Bengals #BengalsTrainingCamp #BengalsBears

NFL Top 100 DISRESPECTS Cincinnati Bengals Stars Joe Burrow & Ja'Marr Chase | Reaction, Analysis

The NFL Top 100 rankings are out, and two of the Cincinnati Bengals’ biggest stars landed much lower on the list than their resumes would suggest. Reid Maus discusses the latest example of the NFL disrespecting the Cincinnati Bengals and its players. ------------------------------------ Check out our partners    Braxton is the Official Craft Beer Partner of the Cincinnati Reds. The rankings put two of Cincinnati’s most important players — and two of the NFL’s most recognizable stars — outside the spots many Bengals fans expected to see them. Chase’s No. 16 ranking comes after establishing himself as one of the premier wide receivers in football. Since entering the NFL, Chase has been the centerpiece of the Cincinnati Bengals passing attack and one of the league’s most dangerous offensive weapons. His combination of explosive plays, production and chemistry with Burrow has made the Burrow-to-Chase connection one of the defining quarterback-wide receiver duos in the NFL. But the biggest surprise may be Burrow falling to No. 44. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback has already led the franchise to a Super Bowl appearance and back-to-back AFC Championship Games while developing into one of the NFL’s most prominent quarterbacks. Burrow’s accuracy, processing, toughness and ability to perform in high-pressure situations have helped transform Cincinnati into a team with championship expectations. Despite that track record, the NFL Top 100 placed 43 players ahead of Joe Burrow. The rankings are particularly notable because the NFL Top 100 is based on voting by NFL players, making the placement of Burrow and Chase an interesting look at how their peers view Cincinnati’s two biggest stars. For the Bengals, everything continues to revolve around No. 9 and No. 1. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase have been together since their college days at LSU and reunited in Cincinnati when the Bengals selected Chase with the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Together, they helped change the trajectory of the franchise almost immediately.

Cincinnati Bengals Joint Practice With Bears: Key Matchups, Storylines & Players To Watch

The Cincinnati Bengals are set for a highly anticipated joint practice with the Chicago Bears tomorrow, and this could be the most important day of preseason preparation yet. With the Bengals and Bears scheduled to play an official preseason game Saturday night, the results of Thursday’s practice could help determine which starters see action in that game. Today's podcast is presented by Richter & Phillips! Head to https://richterphillips.com/pages/chatterbox-sports Today's podcast is presented by 78 Cigars! Get your box today: https://www.anthonymunoz.com/anthony-munoz-78-cigar Joint practices have become increasingly important around the NFL, with coaches treating them almost like preseason games. The Bengals should get plenty of “good on good” work against Chicago, giving Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and the rest of Cincinnati’s starters an opportunity to test themselves against another roster. In this podcast, we break down six key Bengals-Bears matchups to watch, including DJ Turner vs. Rome Odunze, Ja’Marr Chase vs. Jaylon Johnson, Boye Mafe vs. Braxton Jones, Mike Gesicki vs. rookie safety Dillon Thieneman, Dexter Lawrence vs. Garrett Bradbury and Orlando Brown Jr. vs. Austin Booker. DJ Turner is having an impressive Bengals training camp and could have a major opportunity to strengthen his case for a contract extension. Chase, meanwhile, should be highly motivated after his controversial ranking in the NFL Top 100 and could be looking to make a statement against one of the league’s better corners in Jaylon Johnson. We’ll also examine Cincinnati’s offensive line, the impact Dexter Lawrence could make against Chicago’s interior, and whether Orlando Brown Jr. can bounce back after a rough preseason opener. Is Chicago being overrated heading into 2026? Can the Bengals expose weaknesses on the Bears roster? And will Cincinnati’s performance tomorrow determine whether Joe Burrow and the starters play Saturday night? We break it all down from the Bengals perspective, including what to watch during the joint practice and what it could mean for Cincinnati’s preseason finale. #Bengals #BengalsRumors #BengalsJointPractice

Bengals Might Have a BIG Problem… And It’s Not Where We Thought

The Cincinnati Bengals entered training camp with three major positional concerns heading into the 2026 NFL season: linebacker, cornerback and offensive line. Now, on August 18, it's time to reevaluate where those position groups stand after weeks of training camp and the first preseason game. Today's podcast is presented by Richter & Phillips! Get your box today: https://www.anthonymunoz.com/anthony-munoz-78-cigars The linebacker position was arguably the Bengals' biggest concern coming into camp. Can second-year players Barrett Carter and Demetrius Knight take the major leap Cincinnati needs? Early training camp reports have been encouraging, particularly when it comes to their confidence, communication and understanding of Al Golden's defensive system. The emergence of Seesay Boseman could also provide the Bengals with valuable depth. Cornerback is another position that appears to be trending in the right direction. DJ Turner and Dax Hill remain important pieces, but DJ Ivey has arguably been one of the biggest surprises of Bengals training camp. His performance against Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in practice has provided Cincinnati with much-needed confidence in its cornerback depth. Unfortunately, the offensive line may be moving in the opposite direction. Cincinnati brought back all five starters and re-signed Dalton Risner, but the depth was always a concern. With Amarius Mims dealing with an injury and Orlando Brown Jr. struggling at times during training camp, questions are beginning to surface about whether the Bengals have enough depth to protect Joe Burrow. We'll break down all three position groups, what's changed since the start of camp, and which concerns Bengals fans should still have heading into the 2026 season. Topics covered: Cincinnati Bengals, Bengals 2026, Bengals training camp, Joe Burrow, Orlando Brown Jr., Amarius Mims, Barrett Carter, Demetrius Knight, Al Golden, DJ Ivey, DJ Turner, Bengals offensive line, Bengals linebacker, Bengals cornerback, NFL 2026. #Bengals #BengalsRumors #BengalsNews

Hill after he passed his physical. Hill's return gives Cincinnati even more depth alongside Dexter Lawrence, Jonathan Allen and the rest of a defensive line that looks dramatically different from last season. We also discuss Bengals quarterback Ceyair Wright stepping away from the team to pursue a lead role in a movie, plus Cincinnati signing former University of Cincinnati Bearcats defensive back Matthew McDoom. On the field, Joe Burrow continues to show why his cadence could become another weapon for the Bengals offense. Burrow drew the defense offsides twice during 11-on-11 work, showcasing the veteran quarterback's ability to manipulate opposing defenses before the snap. Other Bengals training camp takeaways include Tanner Hudson seeing more opportunities in the passing game and rookie wide receiver Colbie Young continuing to make big plays. Young has consistently flashed his size, athleticism and ability to make contested catches, making him one of the most intriguing rookies on Cincinnati's roster. Finally, we take a closer look at Dexter Lawrence, his impact on the Bengals defensive line and why Cincinnati's revamped defensive front could be one of the biggest differences between the 2025 and 2026 teams. #Bengals #BengalsRumors #BengalsNews

Tahj Brooks had two drops, and Andrew Coker struggled in the swing tackle competition.
