Branch Church

Branch Church exists to connect people to Jesus and each other through the Truth of God’s Word. Each week we come together for authentic worship rooted in biblical teaching. Our name comes from John 15:5 when Jesus said, “I am the vine, YOU are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” We are excited you’ve discovered our weekly messages and hope you’ll join us for regular in-person worship gatherings and events. Acts 6:1–7: All Hands on Deck

In Acts 6:1–7, we see the early church growing—but with growth comes tension. A conflict arises between Hellenistic and Hebraic Jews when widows are being overlooked in the daily distribution of food. What could have divided the church instead becomes a moment of clarity and formation. The apostles respond not by doing more, but by focusing on what God has uniquely called them to—prayer and the ministry of the word—while empowering others to step in and serve. Seven men, full of the Spirit, wisdom, and good reputation, are appointed to meet the need. This moment reminds us that ministry is not reserved for a few, but is the calling of the whole church. As Branch Church continues to grow, this passage invites us to consider our role. When everyone steps in to serve, the church is strengthened, the Word of God spreads, and more people come to know Jesus. Key Takeaways Growth often reveals gaps—but those gaps are opportunities for the church to grow in maturity and unity.Every role in the church matters. Serving is not secondary—it is one of the primary ways we participate in God’s work.God calls leaders to stay focused on their calling while empowering others to step into theirs.A healthy church is marked by shared responsibility, Spirit-filled service, and a commitment to one another. When the church is aligned in mission and service, the Word of God spreads and lives are transformed. 2. Acts 5:17-42 - What Story Are You Choosing To Live In?

    APR 12

Acts 5:17-42 - What Story Are You Choosing To Live In?

In Acts 5:17–42, we see a powerful contrast between two competing stories. The religious leaders, driven by jealousy and fear, are protecting their power and reputation. Meanwhile, the apostles are living boldly in the story of Jesus—proclaiming His name, even in the face of opposition, suffering, and public shame. What changes everything is not just what the apostles believe, but the story they’ve chosen to live in. They have been so deeply formed by the resurrection and the work of the Holy Spirit that obedience becomes natural, and even suffering cannot shake their joy. This passage invites us to ask a deeper question beneath our everyday lives: what story are we living in? The story of self-protection, reputation, and control—or the story of the risen Jesus? Because when we step fully into God’s story, even opposition loses its power, and our lives become a testimony that draws others in. KEY TAKEAWAYS Living in the wrong story blinds us to what God is doing right in front of us Following Jesus leads to boldness that flows from formation, not personality Our worth is secured in Christ, not in reputation, approval, or circumstances Even suffering and opposition cannot take away the joy found in Jesus We are called not just to receive the gospel, but to carry and share it CONTACT INFO Branch ChurchWebsite: https://branchchurchmn.org If you’re ready to take a next step—whether that’s stepping into community, getting baptized, or simply asking for prayer—we would love to walk with you. Resurrection Sunday 2026

On Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate the most defining truth of the Christian faith: Jesus is alive. What once looked like defeat on the cross was actually the pathway to ultimate victory—over sin, over death, and over every power that stands against us. In Matthew 28, the women approach the tomb carrying grief and loss, only to be met with an unexpected reality: the tomb is empty, and Jesus has risen. Their sorrow turns to joy when they encounter Him personally. This moment reminds us that the resurrection is not just something to understand, but someone to encounter. This message invites us to ask a simple but important question: do we live in that victory? Because the resurrection of Jesus is not just a historical event—it is a present reality. Wherever we feel defeat, Jesus offers a different story. Through Him, we are invited to live not striving for victory, but from it. KEY TAKEAWAYS Jesus’ resurrection is a complete and final victory over sin, death, and the enemy We are invited to live from victory in Christ, not strive to earn it The resurrection meets us personally in our places of defeat God’s love is the reason behind the cross and the empty tomb True life begins when we open our hearts and surrender to Jesus CONTACT INFO Branch ChurchWebsite: https://branchchurchmn.org If you’re ready to take a next step—whether that’s beginning a relationship with Jesus, getting baptized, or asking for prayer—we would love to walk with you. Palm Sunday: The Anticipated Crown

OVERVIEW On Palm Sunday, we remember the moment Jesus entered Jerusalem to celebration, anticipation, and hope. The crowds had been waiting for generations for a promised King, one who would bring victory, freedom, and restoration. As Jesus rode in on a donkey, it seemed like everything was finally coming together. But their hope was shaped by their expectations. They longed for a king who would overthrow Rome and restore their comfort. Instead, Jesus came as a humble and obedient King, moving not toward a throne, but toward a cross. This passage reminds us that we can know the right things about Jesus and still miss who He truly is. Palm Sunday invites us to examine our expectations and ask whether we are following the King we want, or the King who is. True hope is found not in a crown of power, but in a crown formed through suffering, obedience, and resurrection. KEY TAKEAWAYS God fulfills His promises, but often in ways we do not expect We can know the facts about Jesus and still miss the right response to Him True hope becomes distorted when it is shaped by our expectations Jesus is a humble King who calls us to surrender, not just celebrate Following Jesus means trusting Him through suffering, not just in victory CONTACT INFO Branch ChurchWebsite: https://branchchurchmn.org If you’re asking, “What do I do with this?”—you’re not alone. 5. Acts: Signs and Wonders

    MAR 22

    Acts: Signs and Wonders

The early church was marked by power that no one could manufacture on their own. In Acts 5:12–16, we see the apostles performing signs and wonders among the people, crowds gathering daily, and men and women coming to faith in Jesus — more than ever. This wasn't coincidence. It was the fruit of a community that prayed boldly, gathered expectantly, and took Jesus at his word. This message asks three questions of the text: What was happening? Why was it happening? And what does it mean for us as a church in 2026? The answers point to a simple but profound truth — God has given his church a powerful ministry, and he is still moving today. We are invited to come to God with open hands and expectant hearts, to pray boldly for what only he can do, and to press into the more that he has for us. KEY TAKEAWAYS Signs and wonders in the early church were not ends in themselves — they pointed people to Jesus and led to salvation. The early believers gathered daily with desperation and expectation. The church is not a Sunday event; it is God's people assembling around his presence.God was fulfilling the very prayer the church had prayed in Acts 4 — bold requests for healing and wonders produced bold results.Jesus promised that those who believe in him would do even greater works (John 14:12). That promise still stands.God still heals today — not always, not never, but sometimes according to his sovereign will and for his purposes. We are called to pray boldly — for specific people, for healing, for salvation, for spiritual growth — not to test God, but to trust him.Come expectant. Jesus promises to be present when two or three gather in his name. That changes everything about how we show up.God is never done. Press into the more he has for you, for this church, and for those who don't yet know his name.CONTACT Branch Churchhttps://branchchurchmn.org Interested in next steps? 6. Acts: Markers of a Strong Church

    MAR 15

Acts: Markers of a Strong Church

What does a strong church actually look like? In Acts 4:32–37, we see a powerful snapshot of the early church. Their strength was not found in buildings, budgets, or influence. It was found in unity, generosity, and a deep commitment to the gospel. Luke describes a community where believers were “one in heart and mind,” where the apostles boldly testified to the resurrection of Jesus, and where people willingly shared their resources so that no one among them was in need. This passage reminds us that the strength of the church is not measured by size or visibility but by transformed lives living together under the lordship of Christ. As we look at these markers of a strong church, we are invited to examine our own hearts and our own community. Are we marked by unity? Are we generous with what God has entrusted to us? And are we boldly pointing others to Jesus? The same Spirit who formed the early church is still shaping His church today. Key Takeaways A strong church is marked by unity of heart and mind among believers The gospel remains central, with bold testimony about the resurrection of Jesus God’s grace is experienced powerfully when the church lives in alignment with Him Generosity flows naturally when people recognize that everything belongs to God The early church cared for one another so that no one among them was in need True strength in the church is measured by spiritual health, not external success Our resources, relationships, and influence are tools God uses to bless others The Holy Spirit continues to build a community centered on Jesus today Contact Info To learn more about Branch Church, get connected, or explore next steps in following Jesus, visit:branchchurchmn.org Chapters (00:00) Introduction and recap of the Acts series(02:10) What makes a church strong?(04:20) Acts 4:32–37 overview(06:10) Unity of heart and mind in the early church(09:00) The central message: the resurrection of Jesus(12:10) Experiencing God’s grace in community(15:00) Radical generosity among believers(18:20) Meeting real needs within the church(21:30) Barnabas: an example of encouragement and generosity(24:00) What these markers mean for the church today(27:00) Invitation to live as a strong church community Keywords Acts 4, markers of a strong church, early church community, church unity, generosity in the church, resurrection of Jesus, gospel-centered church, Barnabas encouragement, Christian community, Holy Spirit church, church health, biblical church model, Acts sermon, Branch Church podcast, Minnesota church, Christian discipleship

  7. Acts 4:23-31 - Powerful Prayer

    MAR 8

    Acts 4:23-31 - Powerful Prayer

In Acts 4:23–31, Peter and John return to the early church after facing threats and intimidation from religious authorities. Instead of isolating or responding in fear, the believers gather together in community and lift their voices in prayer. Their prayer is striking. They begin by acknowledging God’s sovereignty, grounding their hearts in Scripture, and recognizing that even opposition cannot stop God’s purposes. Rather than asking for safety or protection, they ask for boldness—to continue proclaiming the gospel of Jesus. Key Takeaways When facing hardship, the early church moved toward community—not isolation Scripture stored in our hearts becomes strength in difficult seasons God’s sovereignty means opposition cannot stop His purposes Instead of praying primarily for safety, the early church prayed for boldness Boldness to share the gospel is a gift from the Holy Spirit Contact Info To learn more about Branch Church, get connected to community, or explore next steps in following Jesus, visit:branchchurchmn.org Chapters (00:00) Introduction to Acts 4:23–31(02:00) A personal story about community and discernment(04:00) Peter and John return to their people(06:00) The danger of isolation and the power of community(09:00) Why connection and belonging matter in the church(11:00) A prayer saturated with Scripture(13:00) Storing God’s Word in our hearts(16:00) Recognizing God as the sovereign Lord(19:00) God using hardship for good(22:00) Glancing at problems while gazing at God(23:00) The early church’s surprising prayer request(25:00) Boldness to preach the gospel(26:00) Being filled with the Holy Spirit again(28:00) Why we need boldness today(29:00) Communion: remembering, celebrating, uniting, and anticipating Keywords Acts 4, early church prayer, Christian community, bold faith, Holy Spirit boldness, prayer for courage, storing scripture, God’s sovereignty, persecution and faith, gospel proclamation, church unity, communion reflection, Branch Church, Book of Acts series, Christian discipleship, Minnesota church podcast

  8. Acts 4: The Church's First Resistance

    MAR 1

Acts 4: The Church's First Resistance

In Acts 4, the early church faces its first real resistance. Peter and John are arrested for preaching the resurrection of Jesus after the miraculous healing at the temple gate. What began as celebration turns into accusation, intimidation, and threats. Yet instead of shrinking back, Peter responds with Spirit-filled boldness. He declares that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. The religious leaders see that these men are ordinary—and yet unmistakably marked by having been with Jesus. This message challenges us to examine how we respond to resistance. When faith feels costly, do we equate opposition with failure? Or do we trust that God often does His greatest work in moments of pressure? We are invited to pray for boldness, to remember that Jesus is our cornerstone, and to step forward in courage—trusting that the same Spirit who empowered the early church empowers us today. The service concludes with a powerful invitation to surrender, public declaration through baptism, and a reminder that God is still saving, still moving, and still building His church. Key Takeaways Resistance does not equal failure—often it confirms faithful witness When questioned or accused, the answer is simple: Jesus Boldness comes from being filled with the Holy Spirit We pray for boldness; God provides the power Jesus alone is the cornerstone and the only source of salvation Ordinary people become extraordinary when they have been with Jesus Fear shrinks when God is rightly placed on the throne of our hearts God is still saving and calling people to public faith today Info For more information about Branch Church, upcoming baptisms, or next steps in following Jesus, visit:branchchurchmn.org Chapters (00:00) Celebration of baptisms & revival moments(03:00) Acts 4: The church’s first resistance(05:00) Why the Sadducees were disturbed(07:00) Resistance and what it means for believers(08:30) Accusation: “By what power?”(10:00) The answer: Jesus must increase(11:00) Boldness through the Holy Spirit(14:00) Salvation in Christ alone(17:00) Ordinary people marked by being with Jesus(20:00) Intimidation and fearing God above all(23:00) Invitation to boldness and surrender(25:00) Call to salvation and baptism(30:00) Prayer and worship response Keywords Acts 4, early church persecution, boldness, Holy Spirit power, salvation in Jesus alone, cornerstone, resistance in faith, Christian courage, baptism Sunday, public faith, Spirit-filled living, gospel proclamation, revival, Branch Church, Book of Acts series, Minnesota church, Christian podcastContact
