    On this edition of Bread & Roses Too we talk with author and activist Paul Le Blanc about the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) which has grown to 120,000 members, larger than any other left-wing group in the United States today. Paul discusses DSA's successes and challenges and its potential for contributing to building a mass movement to win meaningful reforms and to put us on the road to socialism. Then we are joined by another author and activist, Dan La Botz who talks about Fourth of July at 250: The On-Going Struggle for Equality, Democracy, and Justice and Trump's efforts to "win" the mid-term elections by suppressing voters' rights, intimidation, and a coup if necessary.

    This edition of Bread and Roses Too, features two guests: David Finkel, the editor of Against the Current Magazine and a member of Jewish Voice for Peace, discusses his article "A Spreading Global Disaster" about the global impacts of the Iran war and the continuing Israel/Palestine crisis. And Ashley Smith, a member of the Tempest Collective, discussing his piece “Faultlines in a new epoch of crisis: Imperial rivalry, authoritarianism, and resistance” about the capitalist crises driving the growth of authoritarian governments around the world with a focus on the United States; the failures of both the Democratic and Republican parties, and how we should organize to defend democratic rights and build working class power.

    "Bread and Roses Too," hosted by Green Mountain DSA members, Joseph Gainza and Traven, offers a workers viewpoint on economic inequality and buidlng working class power. This edition has two guests: Chuck Collins, author of "Burned by Billionaires" where he describes how the billionaire class affects our lives, our health, our democracy, where and how we live, our work, and the effect on the the climate. Chuck is the Director of the Program on Inequality and the Common Good at the Institute for Policy Studies where he co-edits http://inequality.org. He is also cofounder of http://divestinvest.org, a global movement to divest from fossil fuels and invest in climate solutions; and trustee of the Post-Carbon Institute and http://resilience.org. Todd Chretien is an organizer, former co-chair of Maine Democratic Socialists of America, a high school Spanish teacher/translator, and a candidate for the Maine House of Representatives. We discuss building a broad movement to resist ICE and build working class power in Maine. He has contributed to several books, including Socialist Strategy and Electoral Politics.
