This is the currently vacated seat previously occupied by Adam Schiff for nearly 23 years.  Alex is a steadfast advocate for U.S.-Israel relations and a formidable new voice in leadership, committed to the changes needed in California to ensure its survival and future prosperity. Dr. Balekian is dedicated to addressing the local issues that matter most to Californians, including economic development, education, parental rights, growing crime and healthcare. As a Physician, gay Republican and native Californian, born and raised in District 30 himself, his America first policy initiatives make Alex Balekian an influential and unique voice in today's local politics. Especially when turning the identity politics playbook against Progressives, like his "proud progressive" opponent Laura Friedman. He recently received the endorsement of LA County Board of Supervisor Kathryn Barger and earlier this year, of Vivek Ramaswamy, which underscores his growing influence and credibility in the overall political landscape as well. As a physician, he is a pro-choice Republican and can stand his stance on why.
