Breaking Barriers is a podcast dedicated to reshaping the narrative around accessing the arts. Grounded in the principle that the arts are for everyone and engaging with the social model of disability, the show highlights how the barriers in our, experiences, environments and attitudes restrict participation in creative spaces. Each episode sparks conversations with artists, innovators, and leaders working to dismantle these barriers and champion equity in the arts.

In this conversation, arts practitioner and theatre maker Joe England shares insights into his inclusive practice working with autistic learners and within special education needs settings (SEN). Joe emphasises the importance of ‘the right space’ and being ‘person centred’ as simple yet powerful non negotiable for inclusive arts education.
