Breath of Siddha

Justin Dharuman

Breath of Siddha offers a way to incorporate a simple 5 minute or 10 minute meditation, chanting and breath work into your every day. Currently stress and anxiety seem to be all too common in everyones life. I often find that people are either overwhelmed or are not sure where to begin or don’t have the time to sit and meditate for more than a few minutes. My aim here, is to bring peace into your every day lives.  Nandri, Vanakkam. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

  1. 10-Minute Om Chanting

    第 3 集

    10-Minute Om Chanting

This 10-minute Om chanting will help to calm the mind, bring a sense of stillness and vibration through your body and create deeper relaxation and healing. This can also be played in the background to cleanse negative energy from your surroundings. *Please do not play while operating a car or machinery, as it places the listener in a state of extreme relaxation. Om is considered a sacred syllable or “mantra,” which is contemplated as a universal sound, the seed of all words without reference to any specific religion or God. In ancient Indian scriptures, OM is considered the most powerful of all the mantras with positive and beneficial effects on human beings. Chanting OM is a form of meditation (different mantras can be used to focus the mind), which is practiced either mentally or with loud repetition. Loud chanting of OM exerts an influence or effect through sound vibrations that resonate on specific parts of the body, creating numerous physical and psychological benefits – paving the way for an inward journey-an experience that is quiet, pleasant, calming, and balancing (National Library of Medicine, 2022). Inhale and gently close your eyes, sit with your back straight and inhale slowly and deeply - extending the belly, the rib cage and then the upper chest. Exhale as you chant Om, release the breath in reverse order; emptying first the chest, then ribcage, then belly. Meditate after you finish chanting, sit in a meditative, bliss-filled state as long as you feel comfortable. Please listen to episode 2 if you need a reminder on how to regulate your breath work to the Om Manthiram. 2. 5-minute Cleansing Breathwork

    第 4 集

    5-minute Cleansing Breathwork

In today’s episode we will focus on cleansing our energy pathways before getting into more complex pranayama (or breathwork) in future episodes. Two words to become familiar with are, prana (the life force or energy present in both living beings and inanimate objects) and nadi (the pathway through which our energy flows). To put it in everday context, our physical body, prana is said to flow through energy channels known as nadis. Prana energy can become blocked due to stress, toxicity in the physical body, physical and mental trauma and unhealthy lifestyle. This practice takes only 5 minutes to do and can be done mornings and evenings to help cleanse the nadis but you will begin to feel the added benefits of alleviating stress and anxiety, more clarity around your thoughts and a boost to your immunity, just to name a few. We will do 10 cycles of breathing through the left nostril and 10 cycles of breathing through the right. Always practice Nadi-suddhi on an empty stomach if possible or if you have had a meal, make sure you wait at least 3 hours before practising. For it to work optimally, try and set your practice between 4am and 7 am in the morning and between 4pm and 7pm in the evening. Please listen to episode 2 if you need a reminder on how to regulate your breathwork.
