Do Your Loved Ones Send Messages From Beyond?

Have you ever had a surprising incident that made you stop and think…was that really a coincidence? Or was someone from the other side sending you a message? Communication with the Other Side Maybe you thought about someone who passed away, and then something happened that was a direct reflection of them. Perhaps you found a coin in an unexpected place, heard a song at exactly the right moment, or noticed a symbol, number, animal, or other little sign that felt strangely personal. Could these moments actually be messages from your loved ones who have passed on? Yes! In this fan favorite episode of the Breathe, Love, & Magic podcast, my guest and I explore the fascinating world of synchronicities, signs, and those unexpected moments that can make you wonder if your people from the other side are communicating. Experiences like these caused me to pay much closer attention to the little things that happen in everyday life, especially when something feels too perfectly timed to dismiss. 3 Stories of Signs From Beyond Heaven Sent Dimes: Tracy shared the story of why finding dimes is such a meaningful sign for her, and how these little coins started appearing in ways that felt anything but random. What began as an ordinary object took on an entirely different meaning. Deathbed Prediction: Tracy’s grandmother announced from her hospital bed that she would die in ten days, on the exact anniversary of her husband’s death, 35 years earlier. Ten days later, she passed. It’s a remarkable story about timing, intention, and the possibility that you may have more awareness around our passing than you realize or expect. Reappearing Recipe: Shortly before Tracy’s mother died, her brother asked for her baked egg recipe, but no one could find it. After her death, the recipe mysteriously appeared stapled inside an unrelated packet tat Tracy’s brother had recently given her. Even more remarkable, it showed up just in time for the big event her brother was planning. Was it a coincidence, or a little help from Mom on the other side? Uncanny Coincidences Sometimes a message may not arrive in the typical dramatic way you imagine or see in a movie. It can be something incredibly ordinary that suddenly takes on extraordinary meaning because of the timing and what it represents to you. Instead of immediately brushing something off as “just a coincidence,” what if you became curious about it? What if you asked yourself, “Why did this catch my attention? What does this remind me of? And how does it make me feel?” Whether you believe your loved ones can communicate after death or you’re simply fascinated by the mysteries of coincidence and synchronicity, this conversation offers a chance to look at those experiences with an open mind. There’s something comforting about communication from the other side. The people you loved who passed away are no longer physically here, but the connection your shared with them doesn’t always disappear. Love can find a way to get your attention right through the veil. So, if you’ve ever wondered whether that song, number, dream, or perfectly timed coincidence was actually a little hello from someone you love, you’ll want to listen to this episode. Enjoy! Slowly But Surely, I Began To Remember That I Am Magic

Today is August 8th, the peak of the Lion’s Gate Portal. This is a powerful energetic gateway inviting you to reconnect with your own inner wisdom, release what no longer serves you, and align with the life your soul calls for. It’s a time to open yourself to new possibilities and I recommend opening to the magic that’s all around you. To celebrate this day, I’m sharing my own story of how my soul called to me about magic. The Word Is Magic It began with a single word. Magic. But you know that’s not just any word. Magic is a noun, a verb, a way of life. Magic holds the universe together and keeps the planets circling the sun. Even if you can’t quite see or hear or touch magic, you know without question that it is there. Magic is real. At least to some people, like me. During Covid, I felt its pull. Magic beckoned me and I heeded the call. I stumbled on a magic coach who started me with simple things. I loved it. My favorite magic was with a sugar bowl, stirring sweetness into your life. I felt a little bit like Mary Poppins with her spoonful of sugar that made the medicine go down in the most delightful way. But I didn’t need any medicine. I just needed the magic. Friday is Freya’s Day My coach suggested I pick a Goddess to work with and meditate with her every week. She said that Friday was Freya’s day and somehow that felt perfect. I chose Freya, or maybe she chose me. From Norse mythology, Freya is the Goddess of love and war, beauty, fertility, and magic. Oh, of course she is. What a surprise that I felt drawn to her. So, I began a ritual where every Friday, I took a bath to cleanse my energy. I smudged my home to clear that as well. And once complete, I would sit in my chair to meditate and connect with the Goddess Freya. It didn’t take too many tries before I enjoyed a visit from the Goddess herself. She came to me with outstretched arms and a smile. I wasn’t sure what would happen as she moved closer to me, but I stayed open and quite curious. Freya came with healing in mind. She worked on my energy body, clearing and removing old energy, no longer wanted or needed. I could feel the change as a lightness lifted me. While I’m not sure how, something released and I felt free for the first time since…Well, I’m not sure I can even identify such a time. The result were expressed in my art journal piece. I felt free to be my magical self. That me had wings and a very big heart. There were colorful clouds behind me and glittering chunks of rose quartz before me. I smiled brightly at this image once it was finished and still do today as it hangs on my wall. Over time, I came to realize that I had been prevented from connecting with my magic by so many things. I discovered one vow after another, binding me and supposedly keeping me safe from interacting with magic. I must not talk about magic. I must not use any magic. I must not teach or share any magic. I must hide my magic. I don’t know why I made these vows. Was this for my highest good? Was I coerced into these vows by another? I cannot say with any true clarity. But every time I found a vow, the need to shake free was undeniable and overwhelming. And I did, releasing every vow I came upon. So, as a result, I became even freer. Bypassing the Obstacles Magic is boundless, so I found my way around the preventive measures that were meant to keep me apart from this universal life force. Magic is for everyone, of this, I am sure. It’s a natural force waiting for us to discover and interact with. Magic is here to help us live the life we want and to do good things in the world. It is the secret to living a rich full life that’s fun and satisfying. At a craft fair, I bought photographs of letters, captured from architectural elements. Each letter is a different image but put together, they spelled the word MAGIC in the most creative way. I hung the word over my office door. Every time I enter, I now enter the magic. I took a course on blessings. Day one was the blessing of abundance. Day two was good health. Day three was peace. Day four was happiness. Day five was different. I don’t remember what the teacher suggested, but my own blessing welled up within me to be brought forth divinely – I live in the magic. While I had signed up for a 30-day program, I could go no further. What was a bigger blessing than to live in the magic? I’ve lived there ever since. A simple song I had created years back came to me out of the blue. I started to sing it again while I took my daily walk. It’s a short song in a minor key but creates an uplifting feeling. Here are the words: “Life is magical, life is magical, the universe is magic and the magic starts with me. As I open my heart, and expand it trustingly, the Universe does respond to me.” Absolute gold. When did this come to me? I could not remember. Magical Experiences My life continued with discoveries and experiences that could be defined in no other way than simply magical. Moments that add so much joy and wisdom. Getting a message from my honeysuckle vine, pointing out that I was missing out on joy and to open my awareness wider. Seeing a three-inch boot print that depressed the grass in my front yard as I planted flowers. An elemental letting me know it was there. After expressing gratitude in the garden to the plant devas and elementals, two tiny orange moths landed on my arm and did a synchronized dance before flying off together. A friend built a fire on a summer evening and suggested we communicate with it. The fire spoke to me in poetry, describing its power and the nature of its energy. A small pile of leaves caught my attention as I walked by my neighbor’s yard. They suddenly whirled upwards into the air in a surprising spiral. Claiming Magic Next, I worked with a somatic coach, who helped me release stuck emotions from my body. During this one particular session, it was the magic that came free. I claimed it. Both my hands reached up above my head to the sky and these words reverberated through my body as I spoke them: “I am magic.” Yes, I am. Do I understand my history or what separated me from my magic? Some of it maybe, but certainly not all. Yet, how interesting that it doesn’t matter. I am magic and nothing can ever prevent that again. But what I have discovered and now know to be true, is that you too are magic. We are all magic. So, if you haven’t yet come to this idea, or connected to your magic, but find yourself reading this curious piece of writing, know this message is meant for you. You are magic and it’s time you started living as if you know that this is true. If you feel ready to connect with your inner wisdom and magic, I’d love to help you with that. Reach out to me here. Where the Magic Actually Lives Magic showed up for Ronnie during Covid, starting with something as simple as a sugar bowl — proof that reconnecting with magic doesn’t require anything dramatic. Working with a chosen goddess (Freya, for her) through weekly ritual — bath, smudging, meditation — opened the door to real energetic healing and release. Unconscious vows (“I must not talk about magic,” “I must hide my magic”) can quietly block your connection to magic until you find and release them. Magic announces itself in small synchronicities — a message from a honeysuckle vine, moths dancing on an arm, leaves spiraling upward — if you’re paying attention. The claim “I am magic” isn’t reserved for a chosen few. As Ronnie puts it, “You are magic and it’s time you started living as if you know that this is true.” FAQs What is the Lion’s Gate Portal? The Lion’s Gate Portal is an annual energetic gateway, peaking August 8th, that many spiritually minded people mark as a time for release and alignment. It’s considered a powerful window for reconnecting with inner wisdom, letting go of what no longer serves you, and opening to new possibilities. How do I start connecting with my own magic? Start small and consistent. You might choose a goddess or guide to meditate with weekly,. Build a simple ritual around it (cleansing, quiet reflection, intention, journaling), and staying open to what shows up is often enough to begin. The connection tends to deepen with repetition, not intensity. What is a soul vow, and how do I release one? A soul vow is an unconscious promise, often made for protection, that can block you from fully living. This could be a vow to hide or never share your gifts. Recognizing the vow when it surfaces and consciously releasing it is often enough to feel its grip lift. Can everyone access magic, or is it reserved for certain people? Everyone can access magic. It’s described as a natural force available to all, not a special ability limited to a few. The main barrier tends to be awareness rather than aptitude. Start to notice small synchronicities is one first step toward recognizing it. What are some signs that magic is present in daily life? Signs of magic tend to be small and easy to miss, like an unexpected message from nature or an unusual pattern in the physical world. Animals may behave in a way that feels meaningful or even noticing a sudden shift in your own emotions or energy. Paying attention is what makes them visible. { "@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "FAQPage", "mainEntity": [ { "@type": "Question", "name": "What is the Lion's Gate Portal?", "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "The Lion's Gate Portal is an annual energetic gateway, peaking August 8th, that many spiritually minded people mark as a time for release and alignment. Do Trees Communicate? Here’s What Six Trees Told Me

Have you ever wondered if trees could communicate what would they say? I know…it sounds a little unusual. But this week I decided to find out. I gave myself a challenge – I spent time with six different trees, asked each one if it was willing to communicate with me. Then, I listened. What happened next surprised even me. I’ve talked to plants, but never to trees. Whether you believe I was talking to trees, tapping into my intuition, or simply letting nature inspire me, I invite you to keep an open mind. Let’s see where this adventure takes us. What Started This Conversation Idea It all started when I went to the grocery store this week. I parked near the edge of the lot which has a nice evergreen border on the property line. AS I got out of the car, the trees caught my attention. Looking closely, I noticed a ton of little green balls at the end of the needle groups that make up the cypress leaves. Spiky, bright green, and maybe half an inch in diameter. What the heck? Were those going to be pinecones? I posted the picture on Substack and a friend looked it up. Yes! Those are tiny, immature pinecones of the cypress tree. That’s what caught my attention and and started me wondering if they had something to say. Yes, they did. Cypress: Beauty and Being Seen First, I heard these words: “Empress, royal, stately, graceful, beautiful.” Regal as they stand there, creating a tall emerald green border. “I am a mother tree, so I have loads of pinecones. These are like our flowers, to seed the earth and keep our kind going. My babies are full of seeds and offer nourishment to insects and small animals, as well as seeding the ground with new cypress trees. Don’t we make a beautiful border? Look at our auras and our energy fields. What do you see?” I was quite surprised to see little elemental helpers scurrying about between the trees. Gnome-like beings, hats and all, bringing energy and life force, and keeping the flow going. Then strangely, I also saw what seemed to be colorful, snake-like energies in pink and blue, swiftly wrapping around the trunks. Having never encountered anything like it, I did a little research. In Norse mythology, serpents are tied to the World Tree. In Greek mythology, a snake coils around the tree of the Hesperides to protect the golden apples. And in Buddhist tradition, the naga king Mucalinda shelters Buddha beneath the Bodhi Tree. Someone else had this image before me. That was really comforting. The cypress continued: “Trees have great wisdom because of our deep roots into Mother Earth. While our trunks are strong and stable, our branches blow in the breeze. We love this. To flow and move and twist and turn with the wind, dancing to our own lovely tune. We’re happy to mark the property line; it’s the perfect job for us. A strong masculine boundary with a fluid feminine grace. Notice us, be grateful to us, be kind to us. Say hello, acknowledge us. So few people even notice our beauty or the job we do. Thank you for spending time in our presence.” Ornamental Cherry: Abundance and Generosity Next, I approached the ornamental cherry tree. Here’s what I heard, “I am the picture of abundance, filled with tiny cherries. My pink blossoms turn into fruit in a matter of months. I love sitting here on your hill, rooted deeply into the earth, providing shade for the plants below me and a home to the insects and animals. Thank you for taking time with me today, for viewing me, appreciating me, and coming close enough to get to know me.” Russian Olive: Sharing and Spreading I said hello to the Russian olive tree and expressed that I love how it’s leaves go from green to silver in the breeze. They’ve populated so much of our land. I ask if this one would you tell me about itself. “Thank you for coming to talk to me. I have a certain grace, I know this is true. I am prolific and I spread everywhere. I’m not meant to grow big and old because my branches and wood are soft. But I do create shade and I do spread rapidly. I love sharing my presence on your land. I spread my branches wide as they curve down to make a wide top that brings shade to your yard.” Cedar: Resilience Two cedar pines stand as siblings. Planted years ago as one-foot bushes, they are now 12 to 15 feet tall despite the deer chewing at their base. I asked what they’d say about themselves as evergreens. “My leaves are spindly and small, but I am resilient. Regardless of the weather or the animals, I continue to grow. My branches come out from all around my trunk, inch after inch, filled with more branches. This is part of my beauty, strength, and resilience, and protects of my trunk as well. We appreciated being given the space to grow, and we’ve done so beautifully, don’t you think?” Oak: Standing in Your Power The oak was next. It’s such a stately tree. Regal, with a unique split trunk, like twins -two for one. It keeps its curled brown leaves through winter until spring brings new growth. “Thank you for noticing me, for your comments, and kindness. I know you worry that I shadow your garden, but it all works out. Here at the back of your property, I stand making a statement that this is where your property comes to an end. I am strong and I grow straight and tall. Oak is old wisdom, the wisdom of the druids. The small acorn grows the big, tall oak tree. We are mighty, we are wise.” I asked if it would share some oak wisdom. “Oak wisdom is about strength, about growing tall, standing still. It’s about staking a claim and standing in your power. When you stand tall in your power, you are like the oak. That makes us smile and we can see a smile on your face too.” Poplar: Flexibility Last was the poplar tree, tall, with siblings a hundred yards off. Their leaves twist and dance in the wind, the whole top of the tree sways like it’s moving to music. “Thank you for noticing my grace. I love that I sway in the breeze, that my leaves are dancing and twirling. I am flexible and fluid. Okay, the willow is more fluid, but don’t deny me my own grace. I love when a storm comes, so I can sway and dance, my branches reaching tall into the sky. I’m here to show that something tall and firmly rooted can still have delightful movement. You can be grounded and yet move and sway, dodge and hedge, persevere, and continue to grow and expand and experience life. My leaves are often the first to fall in a storm, and small branches snap off, but I heal rapidly. That’s part of my perseverance. Not like oak, standing there tall and firm and unyielding. That’s not me. I move and I have grace. My message to you is that you too can move and be flexible and change with the wind, and you’ll be rewarded for it. Sometimes you need to be firm. Sometimes you need to sway with the wind.” What Do Trees Talk About? As I listened to each tree, I noticed something surprising. None of them talked about themselves for very long. Each one reflected something back to me that we humans needed to hear. They spoke of qualities which humans need to live well. Cypress — Beauty and being seen Cherry — Abundance and generosity Russian Olive — Sharing and spreading Cedar — Resilience Oak — Standing in your power Poplar — Flexibility They seemed to be reminding me of qualities we already have but sometimes forget. Maybe that’s one of the gifts of spending time in nature. Whether you believe the trees were speaking to me, or that my intuition was translating their energy into words, it almost doesn’t matter. The wisdom was real. And every message left me feeling more connected to the living world around me. The next time you walk past a tree, consider being intentional. Stop for a minute. Really look at it. Notice its shape, its bark, its leaves. Say hello. Thank it for the shade it offers, the oxygen it creates, the beauty it brings to the world. Then, if it feels right, ask, “Is there anything you’d like me to know today?” Then simply listen. Maybe nothing happens. Or maybe you’ll be surprised. I started this little experiment wondering if trees had something to say. I ended it wondering something completely different. What if the trees have been speaking all along, and I simply never took the time to listen? FAQs About Trees Communicating Can trees actually communicate with humans? Trees exchange chemical and electrical signals with each other and their environment, which science confirms. Whether a tree can communicate a message to a specific person is a matter of belief and intuition rather than proven fact. Many people report receiving impressions, feelings, or words while sitting quietly with a tree. How do you communicate with a tree? Approach with an open mind, sit or stand near the tree, and quietly observe its shape, bark, and leaves. Say hello, ask a simple question such as “what would you like me to know today?” Then, listen for any words, feelings, or images that surface. Patience and stillness matter more than technique. What is intuitive communication with nature? Intuitive communication with nature is the practice of tuning into subtle impressions, feelings, or inner “words.” These might arise while spending focused, quiet attention with a plant, tree, or natural setting. It relies on inner sensing rather than verbal exchange, and results vary from person to person. Do different trees carry different meanings? Many spiritual traditions assign symbolic qualities to specific trees. Oak for strength and endurance, cedar for resilience, cypress for grace and boundaries. These associations come from folklore, mythology, and personal intuitive experience rather than scientific classification. What The Trees Taught Me Six trees, with six distinct qualities: beauty, abundance, sharing, resilience, personal power, and flexibility Each message pointed back to something we need to remember, not just a fact about the tree itsel

    Compassion Begins With You

Inner compassion is the foundation for how you treat yourself and everyone else. It’s how your energy enters a room and is felt before you say a word. In this podcast episode, Meg Reilly talks about extending the same kindness to yourself that you’d offer a good friend. Building Inner Compassion The podcast interview started even though I forgot hit record. When we finished, my heart sank as I realized that mistake meant there was no recording. We had to start over. My first reaction was to feel embarrassed and unprofessional. What a dumb thing to do. With sadness in my voice, I told Meg what happened. We laughed a bit uncomfortably. Then I asked if she had time to do the interview again. She did – phew and on we went. How interesting that our conversation was about compassion and that the best place to start is with yourself. Meg asked something that made me stop and think. If a good friend made that same mistake, would I give them a hard time about it or be kind and supportive? Most people do not treat themselves as well as they treat dear friends. Treat Yourself Like You’d Treat Your Best Friend Meg’s coaching and writing focus on helping people live with more inner compassion. She has a simple way to check for it. When you make a mistake, stop and ask yourself what you’d say to a friend who did that same thing. You wouldn’t call her names or rehash the mistake for the next several hour, right? No, you’d say, “It’s okay. What should we do now?” That’s the kindness you owe yourself too. Meg admits this doesn’t always happen automatically. It takes practice. Building inner compassion is a lot like building muscle at the gym because it requires regular practice. Compassion Can Be Just Showing Up Not every kind of compassion involves fixing something. Meg spent time working in hospice care, simply sitting with patients who were unconscious or close to death. There was no problem to solve and nothing to say. She offered her calm presence and sometimes held a hand. This kind of compassion doesn’t look like much when viewed from the outside, but it is felt. People who’ve had near-death experiences describe being aware of who was in the room with them. Being there IS the act of compassion. Your Energy Enters the Room Before You Do Meg described what happens when she walks into a room full of strangers. She can immediately sense who’s happy and who’s miserable even if no words are exchanged or no physical contact is made because the energy is there. This is where the idea of self-compassion can often be underestimated. When you’re kind to yourself, that energy ripples out into how you treat everyone around you. And it continues rippling from there, like that proverbial pebble dropped in a pond. I talked about my friend MarBeth Dunn whose message is that world peace starts with inner peace. We also talked about how each of us is a single drop in the ocean and the entire ocean at the very same time. That always amazes me and now I see the connection to inner compassion from this perspective. Small Actions Create Big Ripples When our conversation turned to big global problems like climate change, it’s easy to feel like nothing you do personally can make a difference. Meg brought up the phrase, “Think globally, act locally.” The truth is that skipping paper towels, driving electric or hybrid cars, and recycling are small choices that actually can add up and make an impact. I shared a story you may have heard before about working with two friends using an energy clearing practice to help heal the oceans. This seemed rather grandiose to me, but I went along with it and did my part for the 90 minutes we worked together. Partway through, I got an intuitive message from a male figure resembling Poseidon (maybe it was the trident he was holding LOL), thanking us for our efforts. He let me know that even three people can really make a difference. My takeaway was that consistent, intentional energy matters, even if you’re a small group or just one person. Choose Your Words Wisely Your words and actions leave a bigger impact than you might think. Unkind comments tend to stick with you far longer and more vividly than kind words ever do. Meg says this is exactly why it’s worth slowing down with your language. Since you don’t know how your words will land and be remembered, she recommends that you be more conscious about what you say. True for words about yourself as well, which is why more inner compassion is needed. Inside The Echoes Deck Then, I asked Meg about her new oracle cards called the Echoes Deck. Meg’s original 48-card oracle tool was created for personal inquiry, insight, and self-guidance. Most oracle decks feature a theme like angels, animal guides, or essential oils. Meg’s deck has four realms: the external, the internal, the eternal (which covers body, mind, and spirit). But there’s a fourth realm called Echoes, that represents the energy you put out into the world and what comes back to you (just like an echo). Each realm holds twelve cards and features a hand-drawn mandala. You might notice patterns in the layout such as repeating numbers, recurring imagery, or a particular realm that shows up repetitively. This is the same way a tarot reader might look at the suits and major arcana. Why Compassionate Energy Spirals Upward compassionate energy When you recognize your own humanity, which means your mistakes, hard-won lessons, and moments of sorrow, that’s what makes it possible to extend real compassion to someone else. Once you offer it outward, people start to experience you as a genuinely compassionate person. That perception reinforces the whole cycle and causes the energy to spiral upward. In contrast, you can walk into a room and feel whose energy is spiraling down just as easily as you can feel who’s happy. Choosing to meet that with compassion, rather than getting pulled down along with it, takes practice, but it is learnable. Set Your Radar to See Good in the World We discussed how so many spiritually minded people are saying how everything is “crumbling”. But language shapes energy too and those words can lower your vibration and the energy around you. On the other hand, if you reframe this as “things are shifting,” that keeps you oriented toward what’s possible rather than on what’s collapsing. I shared a mantra I borrowed from a friend at the start of 2025: “I am open to the possibility of positive outcomes.” This idea has helped me through so many downward news cycles! What I find helps is to set my internal radar to notice the positive. And that helped me see the good things in my life and the world. The Choice That’s Always Available Uncertainty and worry can’t be eliminated from being human. However, in any given moment, you can choose compassion. Offer a kinder response, toward yourself and others around you. These small, conscious shifts are what end up shaping how happy you actually are, and that positivity ripples out into the world around you. It really starts that simply with one compassionate choice at a time. Where Does the Compassion Begin? Inner compassion is a practice, not a personality trait. Treat yourself the way you’d treat your best friend on her worst day. Presence alone counts as compassion, even when there’s nothing to fix or say. Your energy is felt by others before you say a word, so how you treat yourself shapes who you appear to be to everyone else. Small, consistent actions, energetic or practical, genuinely add up, even when facing enormous problems. Words leave an impact whether you intend them to or not, so choose them with that in mind. Reframe words like “crumbling” to something more positive like “shifting.” This small change in language repositions what you notice and experience. BIO- Meg Reilly Meg Reilly counsels people to live with compassion for themselves and for others.  She leads a weekly meditative, contemplative practice called Lectio 360. She’s also the creator of a new set of oracle cards called, The Echoes Deck. Meg writes a weekly post on compassion available on her social media and in her email newsletter. She served for 20 years as a wellness counselor to campers, counselors and admin staff at Camp AmeriKids, a week-long camp for kids with sickle cell anemia and other medical challenges. Meg defines self-compassion as treating yourself the way you’d treat a close friend who made the same mistake. Offer grace and curiosity about what to do next, rather than criticism. She frames it as a daily practice, not a fixed trait, comparing it to strengthening a muscle at the gym. What is The Echoes Deck? Meg Reilly created The Echoes Deck, a 48-card oracle deck organized into four suits or realms including the external, internal, eternal, and Echoes. Every realm has 12 cards with hand-drawn mandalas cards, designed for personal insight and guidance. How does self-compassion affect the people around us? Meg describes energy as contagious. The kindness or harshness you direct at yourself shapes the energy you bring into a room. Other people sense and respond to this. Practicing self-compassion ripples outward into how you treat everyone else. Can small individual actions really make a difference against big problems like climate change? Yes, according to Meg. She points to the familiar phrase, “Think globally, act locally,” meaning that recycling, driving electric, buying in bulk are proof that consistent small actions add up, even when a problem feels too large for one perso

How My Heart Wall Got Between Me And My Magic

Magic was never scary to me. That’s why finding out I was afraid of it caught me completely off guard and left me spinning. For years I’d been working with magic without calling it that.  I wrote little songs for myself, repeated like chants, to help me manifest a newspaper column, my husband, and plenty of smaller things along the way. I didn’t think of it as magic but as a way to focus my energy. However, once my magic coach pointed out what I was actually doing, an old fear surfaced right alongside the curiosity. I had no idea where it came from. That question sent me looking for an answer, and what I found was a protective wall around my own heart. Two walls, actually, discovered years apart, protecting two very different parts of my life. Here’s both stories, plus what I’m doing about it at a live event on July 29th. The Cage Around My Heart Back in 2020, stuck inside during Covid like everyone else, I started working with a magic coach named Mikala. She helped me see the magic I’d already been using for years without naming it. That was exciting and also the moment the fear showed up. It wasn’t rational. I wasn’t casting spells or doing anything harmful, just directing my energy toward what I wanted. But the dread was real once I discovered this was magic. So, I went looking for its source the way I usually do with past-life work. This is a healing modality I’ve relied on for close to 30 years. The Akashic Records had already revealed plenty to me about past lives and how they influence me today. Like why calligraphy came so naturally. I had been a monk illuminating Bibles in the Middle Ages, as it turned out. This time, what I found was darker. I discovered a life in Venice that ended with my head removed for practicing magic with a group. There was also a pattern of betrayal tied to magic showing up more than once. So by 2022, I decided to finally work through it using a meditation based on Dr. Bradley Nelson’s Emotion Code He created this idea that we sometimes create a protective wall around the heart that can block us instead of helping us. Asking to See the Wall I set my intention to heal my fear of magic. Then I asked to see the wall in this gentle meditation. What appeared was a stone dungeon. I was standing inside a metal cage, spikes pointing inward at heart level which seems like something straight out of a horror film. I didn’t know how to dismantle it myself, so I asked my guides to handle it. The metal melted into a puddle at my feet. Then it reformed into a metal plate with two interlocking hearts, one pointed down and one pointed up, woven together like the Star of David. I stopped the meditation right there, went to my computer, and looked up the symbol. It represents unity. One heart and the end of duality. Whoa – that felt important. Going back into the meditation, I asked what that meant for me and my magic. The answer was to stand on the plate whenever I do magic now. It will keep me safe. I still don’t cast spells or light ritual candles, though there’s nothing wrong with that path for someone else. However, these days I talk about magic openly with clients, with friends, or anyone curious enough to ask. A few years ago I never would have said that out loud. Is Your Subconscious Keeping You Too Safe? Fast forward to this year, I decided to share this powerful, yet completely safe process. So, I created the live Heart Wall Meditation event for July 29th. To go a bit deeper, I thought the best thing was to run the process on myself again, but this time with a different intention which was friendship. Midlife has a way of thinning out your circle of friends. People move, pass away, and drift apart. Each time it happened, I told myself I’d go make new friends, and then did nothing. That bothered me, because I’m a social person who works alone at home and genuinely craves connection. So, why the stall? I sat down and asked my subconscious to show me what was in the way. A wall appeared but this time it was brick, not a metal cage. Big, solid, and completely unexpected. I was totally shocked! I asked the wall if it had a message for me and it explained why it was there. Then I asked if I could take it down and got an immediate yes. I decided to have some fun with it and imagined a ray gun. One blast and the wall came apart, leaving a pile of rubble. I told the rubble to sink into the earth and be recycled. Gone. Except I wasn’t quite finished. Something told me to look again, and a white stockade fence appeared. It was six or seven feet tall, points on top, and solid. I imagined a saw and cut a doorway in the middle, then walked through to the other side. Nothing there but open grass. When I turned back, I gave the fence a gentle push and it fell flat, then dissolved. Remove Old Walls of Protection Two walls, two completely different methods to demolish them. One I blew apart, the other I removed gently. Both ways worked just as well! That’s the part that surprises people most. Your subconscious isn’t working against you. There’s no battle required. It’s simply doing its job to protect you, but with outdated information. That means you don’t actually need it and get to choose how you clear it. Fierce or gentle, the wall still comes down either way. What struck me afterward is that I’d cleared heart walls before around magic, around business. But it never occurred to me to check friendship. Now I’m more open to new people than I’ve been in years. What This Means For You Both stories point to the same truth. Your subconscious builds walls to protect you, using old information that may no longer apply. The protection can end up costing you more than it saves, whether that’s your magic, your business, your relationships, or your sense of safety in the world. The good news is that you don’t need decades of past-life work, shadow work or inner child digging to find your own wall. You just need a willingness to see it, ask what it’s doing, and be rid of it. If any of this stirred something in you, I’m hosting a live Heart Wall Meditation on July 29th where we’ll go through the process together. You can register here. Does Your Heart Have A Wall Protecting You From Something You Want? A heart wall is a protective barrier around the heart. It might look like a wall of some kind in front of you or some other protective mechanism in meditation. It could be metal, brick, glass, or a fence that shields you from old pain. The problem is it can also block what you want now. Fear of something you love or desire, like intuition, love, or a thriving business, can exist side by side with genuine enthusiasm for it. The two aren’t contradictory. Heart walls can show up around any part of life including spiritual growth, creativity, career, family, and you may have more than one without realizing it. You can clear a heart wall by any creative method that you imagine. It might be with force like throwing a grenade to demolish it or gently by simply opening a door or pushing it over. Both are equally effective. Your subconscious mind isn’t an obstacle you have to fight. Thankfully, it’s job is to protect you, often using outdated information. That’s why the walls come down more easily than you’d expect once you become aware of them and ask. Noticing a pattern of avoidance in your life, like a friendship you keep meaning to build or a goal you keep circling, is often a sign that a protective heart wall is involved. FAQs What is a heart wall? A heart wall is a protective barrier the subconscious builds around the heart, often in response to past pain or trauma. It’s meant to keep you safe, but it can also block love, opportunity, or connection you’re consciously trying to invite in. Can you have more than one heart wall? Yes. Heart walls tend to be specific to different areas of life. It’s entirely possible to clear one around business or intuition, and still have another, separate wall around friendship, love, or health that hasn’t been addressed yet. How do you clear a heart wall? Through a guided visualization, you ask to see the wall, then ask permission to remove it. The method varies from person to person. Some walls dissolve gently, others need to be broken apart. But both approaches are equally effective at clearing the block. Is a heart wall the same as a limiting belief? They’re related but not identical. A limiting belief is a thought pattern; a heart wall is more of a protective structure the subconscious builds around it. Clearing the wall often makes the underlying belief far easier to shift. What can a heart wall block besides love? A heart wall can block any form of connection or flow including creativity, magic, friendship, business success, romance, or receiving support from others. Tiny Miracles Happen Every Day But It’s Up To You To Notice

Why You’re Suddenly Noticing Small Signs the Universe Has Your Back Tiny miracles are the small, easy-to-miss moments of grace that show up in an ordinary day. This might include a stranger’s kindness, a found coin, a text that arrives at exactly the right moment. Noticing them changes how supported life feels, even though nothing about your circumstances has actually changed. I didn’t go looking for this. It started with a compliment from a stranger, then a quarter on the ground, then a phone call I’d been hoping for. None of it was earth-shattering on its own. But the moments kept stacking up, one after another, until I couldn’t ignore the pattern anymore. Which made me wonder if these tiny miracles been happening all along, and was I too busy or too in my head to catch them? What Counts as a Tiny Miracle? A tiny miracle is any small moment of unexpected kindness, timing, or connection that feels like more than coincidence. It doesn’t need to be dramatic. Here’s what showed up for me in just a few weeks once I started paying attention: A stranger’s kindness at the grocery store. The produce person complimented my black-and-brown dress, then struck up a whole conversation about her love of neutral colors. Kindness with shopping carts. At one store, a man wheeling his cart toward the entrance handed it to me and went back for another. Days later at Trader Joe’s, a woman did the same thing at the front door. Then, when I finished unloading the cart into my car, an employee took the cart away without a word. I was taken care of from door to door! Found money. I found a quarter in the parking lot when visiting the chiropractor. Finding change always feels a little magical to me. A message from a flower. I was in the garden and felt the nudge to photograph a vine with small purple flowers and yellow stamens. I asked if it had a message for me and heard that it was looking forward to serving the bees. Then bam, a bee landed on the flower right after, so I caught that shot too. An invitation. I’d been wondering when he’d invite my husband and me on our annual boat ride. He called two days later with the invitation. My husband cleaned up the deck. Getting ready for dinner out one evening, I came downstairs to find the outdoor cushions already brought in and the table umbrella closed.  This is something I usually have to ask for. It’s not that he doesn’t take initiative. It’s just never been about the deck. I didn’t win the lottery. No angels showed up. Nothing huge happened. And yet every single one of these tiny miracles made me smile. Why Did These Small Moments Affect Me So Much? Small moments like these affect us because most of us move through the day too fast to allow them to register. We’re checking off errands, replaying conversations, or worrying about what’s next. In the process we miss the majority of the good things happening all around us. Take a minute to ask yourself honestly. Did someone smile at you today? Did someone let you merge in traffic, or did you grab the last package of pre-sliced turkey at the deli counter? Chances are a few of these already happened and slid right past you. It’s not that the Universe decided to start sending me tiny miracles out of nowhere. I think I simply became more present. Once I noticed that first few fortuitous moments, something in me reset to start catching the next one, and the one after that. Is It Magic, Or Is It Your Brain? The reason you start noticing tiny miracles once you look for them is a real neurological function called the reticular activating system, or RAS. This is a network in the brainstem that filters what reaches your conscious awareness based on telling your brain what matters. Humans want to be right, so we set that internal radar to collect evidence for whatever we already believe. Whatever you’re thinking about, you tend to see more of it. It’s the same reason you buy a red car and suddenly notice red cars everywhere. Some call this the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, which is the sense that once you learn something new, it starts showing up constantly. It’s also known as the frequency illusion. What’s actually happening is selective attention. Your brain flags the new thing as important and starts seeing it more frequently. This is also called a cognitive bias. There aren’t more red cars, you just notice them more often. So it seems I’ve set my RAS for tiny miracles, and honestly, it’s been a lot of fun. Am I more supported by the Universe than I was before? Probably not. But I am noticing that I’m supported, and that is creating even more openness. That’s my new bias, and I’m sticking with it. What would shift for you if you felt supported by the Universe and started collecting evidence that it was true? We’re Always Collecting Evidence You always training your brain to notice whatever you expect, whether that expectation serves you or not. Some people wake up already braced for disappointment. They feel people let them down, life is hard, nobody appreciates them, and nothing works out. And their brain will faithfully collect evidence for exactly that, all day long. But you can train your RAS to find positive evidence just as easily. Someone holds the door. A favorite song comes on and you catch yourself singing along. A cashier is unexpectedly friendly. A friend texts at exactly the right moment. String enough of these together and they add up to something real. You shift into a more open, more supported way of moving through your days. My Experiment, and What Changed I didn’t set out to prove anything with this. I never expected the Universe to hand me this many signs in a few short weeks. But by the third or fourth one, I stopped being surprised and started paying attention on purpose. That’s exactly how the RAS is supposed to work. Once I actively looked for tiny miracles, I found more of them. One day last week I realized I’d woken up happy and stayed that way straight through until bedtime. That was new for me. I’m usually quick to spot whatever’s annoying me. Something is shifting. If you’re over 50, you’re likely to notice this kind of thing more than a younger person would, simply because you’ve spent decades reading rooms, situations, and people. Your brain has stopped needing raw data to make sense of a moment and started leaning on pattern, context, and vibe instead. What can feel like sudden intuition can be your brain matching this moment against thousands of moments you’ve already lived. That’s what I mean when I talk about midlife magic . It only comes with the miles, and with those miles comes a deeper appreciation for the little stuff that goes right. What If the Magic Doesn’t Show Up? If you go looking for tiny miracles and nothing shifts, that’s not a sign you’re doing something wrong. More often, it’s a sign something is in the way. Many of us carry a protective heart wall, built from grief, disappointment, or old self-protection. Unfortunately, that can unconsciously block what tiny miracles need to get through, without you ever knowing it’s there. That’s exactly what I’m addressing at a live Heart Wall Releasing event on July 29th, from 10–11:30am ET. It’s a gentle, remarkably effective meditation process. And it’s safe because your own inner wisdom guides the entire experience. The investment is just $22, and I’m keeping the group small — limited to 10 women, with a few spots already claimed. If you’ve been wondering whether a heart wall might be dimming your magic or getting in the way of something you desire, I’d love to guide you through it. Register now to grab your spot. FAQ: Tiny Miracles – How to Start Noticing Yours What is a tiny miracle? A tiny miracle is a small, everyday moment of kindness, timing, or connection — a stranger’s compliment, a found coin, a call that arrives right on cue — that feels like more than chance and leaves you a little lighter. Why am I suddenly noticing more good things happening to me? Once your brain flags something as meaningful, your reticular activating system (RAS) starts surfacing more of it in your awareness. You’re not attracting more good moments; you’re finally catching the ones that were already there. What is the reticular activating system (RAS)? The RAS is a network in the brainstem that filters incoming information and decides what reaches your conscious attention, based largely on what you’ve told it matters. What is the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon? Also called the frequency illusion, it’s the experience of suddenly noticing something everywhere right after you first become aware of it — like seeing red cars everywhere after buying one. What is a heart wall, and how does it relate to noticing magic? A heart wall is a protective barrier around the heart, often built from grief, disappointment, or self-protection, that can block the openness needed to notice tiny miracles or invite in what you desire. Key Takeaways – Where IS the Magic in All This? Tiny miracles aren’t new; they’re likely happening around you already, and most get missed in the rush of a normal day. Your reticular activating system will collect evidence for whatever you focus on, positive or negative, so choosing what to look for actually matters. Noticing one tiny miracle tends to open the door to noticing the next one. If the magic isn’t showing up for you lately, that’s not a personal failing. It may point to a heart wall quietly getting in the way. Why Can’t You Find Love In Midlife? It Might Be An Invisible Heart Wall

What if your heart isn’t shut down to love at all? What if it’s being protected by something you can’t see? If you’re a midlife woman wondering why you can’t find love, the answer isn’t always about the wrong partner or bad timing. It may be an invisible heart wall. You might have an energetic protection set up that’s kept you emotionally safe for years, but is now the very thing keeping you lonely. You’ve read the books. Listened to the podcasts. Maybe even worked with an energy healer or therapist. And yet here you are, still single and wondering what’s not working. After 20 years of coaching midlife women, I’ve noticed the same pattern over and over. It’s rarely about a lack of options or bad luck. Most of the time, my clients had no idea the wall was even there. What a Heart Wall Actually Is Dr. Bradley Nelson, creator of the Emotion Code, first encountered this phenomenon while working on his wife. He perceived something like a wall surrounding her heart. It wasn’t physical, but energetic. Practitioner Robin Friedman later developed a guided meditation to help people find the wall and release it. I’ve used this method many times, with results that still surprise me. A heart wall forms unconsciously, over years, as a way to survive heartbreak and emotional disappointment. It’s not a flaw or proof you did something wrong. It’s a protective structure you created, and like most protection, it can overstay its welcome. How the Wall Forms in Midlife By midlife, most women have endured more than one heartbreak. A wall like this can build from one big heartbreak or from many smaller ones, layer by layer, from: Repeated disappointment that leaves you feeling like you have a “bad picker” A belief that your chance at love has already passed Subtle grief around aging, or the sense that time is running out Sheer exhaustion from the hoping-trying-disappointment cycle None of this means you failed at romance. A heart wall is simply what’s left over when love goes wrong and self-preservation kicks in. Whether you’ve dated a little or been through three divorces, the wall can show up the same way. It doesn’t scale with how much heartbreak you’ve had, only with how much you needed to protect yourself from it. The catch is you can’t selectively block pain and stay open to love at the same time. Protection and intimacy share the same doorway into your heart. Close it to one, and you close it to both. Signs Your Heart Wall May Be Activated You might be dealing with a heart wall if you notice yourself: Feeling emotionally guarded even when things are going well Consistently attracting partners who aren’t available Feeling disconnected or unmoved even when someone genuinely nice shows interest Saying “I want love” but resisting any action that would actually lead to it Putting off dating altogether, even though you say you want a relationship If a few of these sound familiar, that’s your signal you’ve been protecting yourself. Now the question is whether that protection still serves you. It’s worth pausing on that question, because it’s not a yes-or-no answer. The wall that protected you at 30 may not fit who you are in midlife. What felt necessary after one heartbreak might now be standing between you and a different kind of partner who wouldn’t cause that same type of hurt. Unfortunately, protection that was once accurate can become outdated without ever getting the update it requires. The Heart Wall Meditation: What It’s For (and What It Isn’t) This is the part I want to be really clear about. The goal of this process isn’t to rip the wall down. It’s to become conscious of it, and choose from there. Awareness gives you the opportunity to DECIDE what you want to do. In a relaxed, meditative state, you bring your awareness to your heart center and ask if a wall is present. If so, you ask to see it. People experience this differently. Some see brick or stone, others see glass, fog, wood, or something layered and mixed. I’ve even seen chains or a cage instead of a wall. There’s no one right image. From there, you simply ask if it’s safe to take the wall down now? Occasionally, the answer is no and that’s useful information. You can try again another time. When the answer is yes, you then choose how it comes down. Most people take it all down, but sometimes I’ve had to take a second pass at it. Whatever happens is exactly what’s supposed to happen in that moment. Some people feel immediate release. Others see the wall clearly but nothing shifts the first time. Neither outcome is wrong. This is a gentle process, not a one-time fix, and guided by your own inner wisdom. That’s what makes it so safe and simple to do. Release the Wall But Keep Discernment This is the piece people most often miss. Releasing a heart wall is not the same as throwing your heart wide open to anyone who shows interest. You still need to hold your standards. If someone lies once, doesn’t pursue you consistently, cancels more than once, or doesn’t keep their word, that’s vital information about your date’s potential. Don’t let your heart override those glaring red flags because you feel more open now. Your head and your heart are a stronger team than either one alone, and one without the other tends to lead right back to heartbreak. Taking the wall down means it’s time to date more consciously and be more open. Stay aware, true to your boundaries, and decide who can earn access to you. This approach is far better than defaulting to either total protection and being shut down or total openness to anyone who shows interest. This is really where the resistance tends to show up. You might ask yourself: What if I open up and get hurt again? What if I pick poorly again? What if I’m too old or it’s just too late? What if nothing changes? These are fair questions, and I won’t pretend to know exactly how your story unfolds. However, if the wall has come down, that’s a sign you’re ready to work with these questions instead of avoiding them. The wall did its job and you’re not erasing that. You’re upgrading it, replacing an automatic shutdown with a more conscious form of protection. That is your own clarity, judgment, and willingness to walk away when things aren’t right. After going through this powerful, yet gentle visualization, most women feel a release, or at least lighter and more open to possibilities. Personally, I’ve had amazing results. And I’ve taken lots of women through this over the years with wonderful results. I’m not saying they find love the next week, but they feel more at ease and comfortable with taking the steps to meet someone special. Experience It for Yourself If you’d like to be guided through this remarkable process rather than attempt it solo, I’m hosting a live 90-minute Heart Wall Meditation event: Wednesday, July 29th, from 10-11:30 am ET on Zoom There will be time afterward to talk about what came up and ask questions. It’s just $22, and there’s no replay, so it’s worth carving out the time to join live. This meditation isn’t only for romantic blocks, either. The process doesn’t mention love. You set your own personal intention for the meditation. Women have used it for business growth, friendships, creative resistance, spiritual growth, or anywhere something invisible seems to be in the way. Click the link to register now. The program is limited to 10 women. I’m Ready to Release My Heart Wall   Key Takeaways A heart wall is a normal, protective response to past heartbreak, not a personal flaw You can’t selectively close your heart to pain while staying open to love; they share the same door The goal of the heart wall meditation is awareness and conscious choice Releasing the wall doesn’t mean abandoning discernment. Your boundaries still matter Change may happen instantly, gradually, or over multiple sessions and all of these are normal FAQ What is a heart wall? A heart wall is an unconscious energetic barrier that forms around the heart as protection after emotional pain, first identified by Dr. Bradley Nelson, creator of the Emotion Code. How do I know if I have a heart wall? Common signs include feeling emotionally guarded even in good circumstances, repeatedly attracting unavailable partners, feeling numb toward people who show genuine interest, and continually delaying efforts to date despite wanting a relationship. Does removing a heart wall mean I’ll immediately find love? No. Removing a heart wall doesn’t guarantee an instant relationship. What shifts first is usually how you feel, such as lighter, more open, and more willing to be seen. That shift is what makes new possibilities available. Can a heart wall meditation be used for things other than love? Yes. The same process can be applied to any area where you sense internal resistance, including business growth, friendships, or creative blocks. Do I have to do anything with the wall once I see it? No. You can simply become aware of it without removing it. Awareness itself is valuable, and you can choose to take further action whenever it feels right. Will taking down my heart wall make me less discerning about who I date? No. Releasing a heart wall doesn’t remove your judgment or standards — it removes an unconscious block. You still evaluate red flags, hold boundaries, and walk away from anyone who doesn’t earn your trust; you’re just no longer doing it from behind an automatic shutdown. { "@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "FAQPage", "mainEntity": [ { "@type": "Question", "name": "What is a heart wall?", "acceptedAnswer": { "@type": "Answer", "text": "A heart wall is an unconscious energetic barrier that forms around the heart as protection after emotional pain, first identified by Dr. Bradley Nelson, creator of the

Need Better Self-Care? Your Astrology Reveals Tailored Options

There’s no way self-care for women is one-size-fits-all. The good news is that your astrology chart maps out what actually works best for you. Astrologer Danielle M. Nugent joined the Breathe, Love & Magic podcast to reframe astrology as a wellness tool rather than a fortune-telling device. She explains how your zodiac sign and corresponding element point to the specific practices that ground, restore, and recharge you. What Does Self-Care for Women Look Like with Astrology? Danielle’s approach relies on your zodiac sign. Instead of looking for predictions, she asks what a person needs to feel grounded, balanced, and feel a sense of well-being. Astrology becomes a tool for self-understanding on every level including emotional, physical, and spiritual. It adds real insight into how you’re wired and what helps you thrive, especially once you know your element. Every zodiac sign falls into one of four categories including earth, air, fire, or water. Each one carries distinct needs for managing stress, avoiding burnout, and recharging. What Self-Care Practices Match Each Astrological Element? Earth Signs:  Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, typically work too hard, taking on responsibilities until they run themselves into the ground. They recharge through grounding. This means time outdoors, nourishing meals, and the simple act of cleaning and organizing. As Danielle puts it, “outer order creates inner calm.” Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces, are the empaths, absorbing everyone else’s emotional baggage until they lose track of where their feelings end and others’ begin. Your self-care comes through disconnection. For example, stepping away from people, having a good cry (which can be genuinely therapeutic for this group), and spending time near water. If you can’t get to a lake, or the ocean, just take a shower. Fire Signs: Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, are the movers and shakers, carrying big energy that needs an outlet. They often reach burn out in two ways: 1) Lacking inspiration, or 2) Saying yes to everything without checking in with themselves first. The fix is movement like working out. But passion projects and anything that lets the inner flame burn productively can help. Danielle compares fire signs to the Energizer Bunny – built to keep going. However, you need to take intentional pit stops and ask yourself, “How am I doing?” Air Signs: Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, are the intellects, thriving on conversation and ideas. They burn out by living too much in their heads, forgetting they have bodies, and consuming too much news and social media. Restoration comes through unplugging from screens, having meaningful conversations, journaling, or simply talking a thought through out loud. Why Self-Care for Women Matters More in a Chaotic World One reason why people love astrology is that many are searching for peace amid global chaos. Astrology offers a way to look inward when the outer world feels unpredictable. “I can’t control the world,” Danielle says, but she can control how she reacts to it as long as she understands herself. This is where good astrology departs from the version most people grew up with. I shared my own history with predictive astrology. Two different astrologers told me in my 30s that marriage wasn’t in the cards. Yet, I went on to marry and have been happily married for 26 years and counting. That distinction matters. Good predictive astrology isn’t about absolutes. It points to the energy at play and what it might look like. It’s like a weather forecast. Rain is possible, but you still decide whether to grab an umbrella or get wet and dance in it. How Do the Sun, Moon, and Rising Signs Shape Your Wellness Style? Going one layer deeper, astrologers often talk about how these three signs affect your chart: Sun sign: Representing your core essence and vitality, this sign is what most horoscope columns default to. It’s the brightest, most visible part of a person’s chart. Rising sign: Your outward packaging, or how you show up and present yourself to the world. Moon sign: Your emotional body, and the key to how you receive intuitive guidance. How Does Your Moon Sign Reveal Your Intuitive Style? We took a moment to look at how your astrology impacts your intuition. Sorted by the same four elements, your moon sign reveals how you best receive inner guidance. Fire Moons (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) are claircognizant people who simply know things, often physically. A run or workout unlocks clarity by pulling them out of their head and into their body. Air Moons (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) receive intuition as ideas and flashes of insight; they’re the innovators and futurists, though they often dismiss their own intuitive hits as “just a thought” when it’s actually inner wisdom speaking through intellect. Water Moons (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) pick up on the energy of a room the moment they walk in, and their intuition opens up through solitude and water, like showers, rivers, ponds, or the ocean. Earth Moons (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) experience intuition as practical gut instinct. Some carry a tactile gift for psychometry, sensing information just by touching an object. Gardening and grounding rituals help them reconnect to that knowing. A pattern emerges. Fire and air are “yang” elements that need active, energetic outlets to access intuition. On the other hand, water and earth are “yin” elements that need stillness and reflection. Knowing your moon’s element provides a personalized practice instead of forcing a intuitive style that’s not aligned with your energy. A Permission Slip to Be Yourself Maybe the most powerful idea in the conversation is what Danielle calls a permission slip to be yourself. A water sign who cries easily isn’t flawed. That’s how your body processes and releases emotion. A fire sign who can’t sit still for traditional meditation doesn’t need to force it. Try a movement-based practice which will work better. Astrology, used this way, isn’t about fitting into a box. It’s about understanding your sign and qualities and learning to work with it instead of against it. Key Takeaways Self-care for women works best when it’s tailored to how you’re individually wired, not applied as generic options that work for anyone. Your zodiac element (earth, water, fire, or air) points to specific stress triggers and corresponding methods to recharge. Earth signs need grounding and order; water signs need disconnection and release; fire signs need movement; and air signs need to unplug and talk things through. Good predictive astrology describes energy and possibility, not fixed outcomes. Your moon sign, read through its element, reveals how you best access intuition, whether that’s through movement, ideas, stillness, or instinct. The goal isn’t to change who you are. It’s to better understand your natural patterns and build self-care around them. Frequently Asked Questions What is self-care for women according to astrology? It’s a personalized approach that uses your zodiac element to identify which practices actually restore you, rather than applying generic wellness advice that may not fit your energy. What self-care does each zodiac element need? Earth signs need grounding through nature and order, water signs need disconnection and emotional release, fire signs need movement and passion outlets, and air signs need to unplug from screens and talk through their thoughts. How can I find my moon sign? Your moon sign is calculated from your exact birth date, time, and location. A free online birth chart calculator or an astrologer can generate it for you. What’s the difference between predictive and wellness-focused astrology? Predictive astrology forecasts events, while wellness-focused astrology — the approach used here — focuses on self-understanding and the specific practices that help you feel grounded, balanced, and well. Is astrology a replacement for therapy or medical care? No. Astrology can be a useful self-understanding and wellness tool, but it’s not a substitute for professional medical or mental health care.
