Excellent Podcast!!

I love this podcast - Kev and Les are great hosts. I personally like their differing approaches to reviewing stuff (especially Les’s convictions 😂).

The ever evolving format of the pod works great, Kev seems to put a lot of work into perfecting this.

Overall considering they’re both (I believe) new to this, the podcast is excellent, evoking both nostalgia and renewed passions for this type of music.

Clever title but misleading

The podcast is less about Britpop’s top 50 albums and more about two friends taking a nostalgic journey through the music that shaped their teenage years in the 90’s. Unfortunately, they don’t embrace the nostalgia and instead flounder in a forced format of their own creation. I gave it the old college try and listened to 10 episodes of season one, listening to each album prior to the episode. By the time I got to Reef’s Glow album I’d had enough. Only one of the ten bands I listened to would I even consider to be Britpop. I wouldn’t call myself a purist but I found their criteria for each Britpop band/album consistently contradictory. Kevin seems to slap the Britpop label on just about any band he liked in the 90’s. At first I wondered if co-host Lesley even liked Britpop as she whinged and moaned at nearly every band mentioned on the list. The further I got into the podcast however, the more I sided with Les. I’d hoped to discover and rediscover great music from this podcast. In the end, I was disappointed and decided I was better off on my own. If you’re looking for “Britpop banter”, you won’t find it here.

love this podcast

This podcast is getting better and better. The recent episodes have been fantastic and have inspired me to get back to listening to the music I grew up loving. Great job Kev and Les.
