Wow, I really love the framing mystery and the sound design. Really high quality audio drama, the listener interviews are great!

The slow stilted speech pattern of the podcast host (chance) over the constant ambient music is hard to pay attention to and follow along with for long periods of time. This doesn’t sound like a podcast with a natural speech pattern, it sounds like someone reading a script with a slow pressured inflection and tone that comes across as distracting from the content. It’s not exactly an audio drama with obvious acting but not podcasty either if that makes sense. It’s a monologue over a soundtrack that’s supposedly a podcast? The station host (who speaks with a normal rhythm, cadence, and speed) even acknowledges this and calls it an audiobook. It’s read slower than an audiobook. Long periods of exposition in this speech pattern is hard to listen to. I really want to like this show but getting through the first episode was a chore and I found myself replaying several parts to re-listen. Eventually I gave up and just read the transcript and increased the playback speed to compensate for this. Update: Speed it up to at least 1.3 or to 1.5 to hear this at a “podcast” pace. WAY better.
