#BHeardAmplified is a BRIC initiative that meets emerging producers where they live, and gives them the tools and the know-how to tell the stories that they think matter most. This year the program was presented in collaboration with the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs with support from The National Endowment for the Arts fund. Producer Sriyanka Ray, music producer Karim Douaidy, and filmmaker Jude Chehab spent 13 weeks in Bay Ridge in partnership with Yemeni American Merchants Association (YAMA) and Arab American Association of New York (AAANY) teaching a small group of residents how to develop a podcast. This week, we’re sharing stories from 22 of Brooklyn’s newest audio-makers.

The variety we deserve!

Easily one of my favorite edited podcasts! I love the sound and the storytelling. I love how they present the subjects and it’s free-form format that comes together so naturally. The transitions throughout are seamless. The unique stories offer up a slice of NYC that you won’t get from walking down the streets or from living there a few years. The variance in narrative make it so that it feels like a totally unique show with every new episode. Listen to “A Duck in the Distance” and the “More Than Slam” series to fully understand the variety. Much respect and love to the creators!

Phenomenal! A Great Listen!

Brooklyn, USA is a thoughtful, informative, and entertaining show! I love hearing the voices and opinions of people in my neighborhood and community and always appreciate the wide range of topics and reporting styles. No matter how serious the subject matter of the episode, the episodes always end with some excellent and adorable reporting from junior correspondent Griff City
