This week we're unpacking the concept of Christocentric theology. Throughout the Matthew Series there were several points where we discussed different aspects so Jesus' teaching or actions an made reference to painting the full picture of who Christ is and how he reflects God the father. 

Also, a few months ago I put out a poll in our Facebook group asking if the BWC knew what it meant to have a Christocentric perspective. Well now that we are wrapping things up, now is the time to unpack what this means why it's so important.

This week we're wrapping up Matthew 28! We're discussing the Great Commission. Jesus sends out his disciples with a command and while there is cultural context to the command, it's still one that we are called to today!

We're going to discuss the value of relational discipleship and what exactly that looks like and why it's so important and we're going to discuss the concept that we are called to care for all people, not just a select group or nation.

The time has come! This week we are beginning our walk through the final chapter of Matthew by covering the resurrection but this week we're widening our perspective slightly to get a fuller picture. 

The truth is, the 4 gospel accounts highlight various aspects of Jesus' life and ministry, including His passion and resurrection. In order to really process everything that's happening, we're outlining the series of events in timeline form across all 4 gospel accounts with the emphasis being on what specifically Matthew is trying to communicate with his.

As we prepare to discuss the resurrection next week, I wanted to take this week and give you a look at where my heart is at currently. 

This has been a hard week and unfortunately tragedy has hit my family and the reality is it's moments like this where we NEED to be authentic about what we are wrestling with, the thoughts we have and the struggles of life.
