From an Amazing Career to His Ultimate Passion: Interview with Michael Cole: S5E12

Interview with Michael Cole: S5E12 Pennsylvania born and raised. Mike always knew he wanted to stay in PA. and as the youngest child he also found his passion for competitiveness. These two things gave him the opportunity to thrive in wrestling and to go to college locally. He attended Clarion University where he received his Bachelors and his MBA. While at Clarion he was 2X All-American and made it to the Olympic trials' finals. When it was time to hang up the wrestling shoes, Mike went into the corporate world. He had a plan though. Mike always knew he wanted to follow in the path of the many coaches that he learned from and admired. At the end of his business career, Mike retired as the Managing Director of Technology at Morgan Stanley. While others think of hobbies, he knew exactly what was next. Mike is now the Head wrestling coach at  Hunterdon Central HS, where he was given the award as Coach of the Year. During my research on Michael Cole, I came upon an article and saw a quote that every new leader can learn from. This is when he started his high school coaching. "My idea is, I'm not going to change anything until I learn everything that is going on". Great advice. Email: michaeljcole142@gmail.com Eric Reyes: Host of Hey Coach! A Successful Career in Sports Business, Until: Interview with Eric Kussin: S5E9

Interview with Eric Kussin: S5E9 After a successful career that started at the NBA League Office, and led to senior management positions with a number of professional sports teams, Eric’s mental health took a sudden and rapid decline. Due to unresolved personal life traumas he failed to appropriately address at a younger age – life experiences he was unaware were affecting his mental health – Eric developed a severe bout of PTSD, along with symptoms of anxiety and depression. This fall came essentially “out of nowhere” and left him almost permanently in bed, and with severe cognitive impairment, for just over two and a half years. Once he found a way to climb out of his abyss, he vowed to spend the rest of his life focused on changing the global conversation through mental health advocacy. It wasn’t until he met practitioners who taught him methods to actually heal his body and central nervous system, that he began to improve and get his life back. He is determined to spread his message: that EVERYONE in the world is affected by life’s inevitable traumas and stresses. We can’t escape them, as they are part of the human experience and they impact us on many levels. Mental health exists on a continuum, with some simply experiencing more severe declines than others over varying periods of time in their lives (and/or being more genetically predisposed to such declines). Because of this, his view is that we should all be open and accepting of those who need help, because we’re one community in this “crazy” world, all fighting our own unique, but often similar, battles. Triumph Through Adversity: Interview with Trenell Walker: S5E8

Interview with Trenell Walker: S5E8 At the tender age of 14, Trenell Walker experienced a tragic accident playing high school football that left him paralyzed from the neck down. In his eyes temporary defeat does not mean permanent failure, because nothing beats a failure but a try. He tried a bad attitude. He tried blaming others. Things changed for the better by trying 3 things that he will teach you such as developing a positive attitude, setting goals and building winning relationships. Desperation turned to inspiration giving birth to a spirit that will never give up until he is taken up. He is now a Ziglar Legacy Certified Trainer, speaker and author.
