Built to Last

Adrian Addamo

Built to Last exists to challenge the way you think, so you can change the way you live. How do we build a successful life without losing ourselves along the way? That's the question behind every conversation on Built to Last with Adrian Addamo. Adrian Addamo spent more than 20 years in sales and leadership before moving into coaching and human performance. Today, he works with business owners, leaders and their teams to expand their capacity to perform, lead and live well, grounded in the belief that whatever we build is only ever as strong as the person building it. Each fortnight, you'll hear honest reflections, lived experiences and conversations with world-class leaders, athletes, entrepreneurs and everyday people with extraordinary stories. We explore what it really takes to create meaningful success without sacrificing your health, your relationships or yourself in the process. No surface-level tips. No band-aid fixes. Just the insights, stories and questions that help you make better decisions under pressure, build confidence through action and create a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside. I believe we're all capable of far more than we've allowed ourselves to imagine, and sometimes, one conversation can change everything. Follow along for more @builttolastpodcast_ and @adrianaddamo

Who Gets the Best of You?

What happens when work gets the best of you and the people you love get whatever’s left? I’ve seen it happen in people I’ve led and I’ve lived versions of it myself. We spend so much time thinking about how to perform better, lead better and get more done, but eventually we hit a ceiling if we don’t have the capacity to sustain it. In this episode, I’m digging into one of my favourite topics: energy. I break down the four pillars I believe shape our capacity: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energy and how each one affects the way we show up at work, at home and in the other roles that matter to us. Because knowing who you want to be is one thing. Having the energy to actually be that person is another. This is the work of Client Zero. Not chasing perfect balance or trying to operate at 100 per cent all the time, but building awareness of where your energy is going, taking ownership of what needs your attention and having the tools to increase your capacity. Take care of yourself so you have more to give to everything you’re building. ___________________ Ready to put this into practice? Kate With Intention: Following Your Intuition and Choosing Courage (Big Announcement)

This is a deeply personal episode and one I never expected to record. Over the past few months, I've been making some big changes behind the scenes in my business and my life. Some have been easy. Others have asked me to let go of things I genuinely love. But through all of it, I've kept coming back to what feels right for me now. Today, I'm sharing the journey that's led me here, why I've been creating more space in this season and what it looks like to trust your intuition over what you think you ‘should’ be doing. We talk about resistance, having the courage to make changes and choosing what feels right even when you don't know exactly what comes next. If you've been feeling that little nudge that something in your life, business or relationships needs to change, I hope this conversation reminds you that it's okay to listen to it. We're allowed to change, to outgrow things and to choose a different direction when something no longer feels right. ___________________ Where You Can Find Us Website: theaddamos.com Instagram: @builttolastpodcast_ YouTube: @theaddamos Pinterest: au.pinterest.com/TheAddamos Read the journal post https://theaddamos.com/Intuition-Choosing-Courage ___________________ Connect with Kate Addamo Instagram: @kateaddamo Substack: @kateaddamo Website: kateaddamo.com ___________________ Connect with Adrian Addamo Instagram: @adrianaddamo Website: adrianaddamo.com ___________________ Share the love Leave a review on Apple Podcasts Leave a rating on Spotify Screenshot and tag us on Instagram

Everything Changes When You Trust Yourself

The way we see ourselves quietly shapes everything. It affects the decisions we make, the boundaries we hold, the risks we take and how we show up in our lives, relationships, businesses and work. When self-trust is shaky, it can look like overwhelm, overgiving, second-guessing ourselves or staying stuck in patterns that don’t serve us. In this episode, we talk about self-trust, identity and what happens when the version of ourselves we have been living as no longer fits. We share some of what we are both moving through right now and how confidence is built through small actions, highest-self reflections and learning to listen to ourselves again. This is a conversation about coming back to ourselves, getting curious about what needs to change and taking one small step towards the life and work we actually want to build. ___________________ Start creating a business that feels calmer, clearer and more sustainable from the inside out with The Intentional Business Reset. Adrian Unfiltered: How High-Performance Cultures Are Built

Have you ever felt like you're carrying the performance of your entire team? No matter how hard you work, it feels like everything depends on you. If you're not in the room, standards slip. If you're away, things start to unravel. It's easy to assume you need better people or tighter control, but what if the real issue isn't your team at all? In this episode, Adrian shares the six shifts that changed the way he leads. Drawing on more than 20 years in leadership, he unpacks some of the biggest mistakes leaders make, why they happen and the practical shifts that help build a team that takes ownership and performs because they want to, not because they have to. Building a high-performing team isn't about doing more or pushing harder. Sometimes it's about getting out of your own way, changing your approach and giving your people the confidence to step up. __________________ If you're ready to start putting these ideas into practice, I've created a free resource to help. The Performance Culture Playbook breaks down these six shifts into practical actions you can apply straight away with your team. If you're looking to take it a step further, the Amplify Workshop Series goes deeper into leadership, culture, wellbeing and sales, giving your team the tools and strategies to build lasting performance from the inside out. __________________ Where You Can Find Us Website: theaddamos.com Instagram: @builttolastpodcast_ YouTube: @theaddamos Pinterest: au.pinterest.com/TheAddamos Read the journal post https://theaddamos.com/high-performance-cultures ___________________ Connect with Adrian Addamo Instagram: @adrianaddamo Website: adrianaddamo.com ___________________ Connect with Kate Addamo Instagram: @kateaddamo Website: kateaddamo.com ___________________ Share the love Leave a review on Apple Podcasts Leave a rating on Spotify

The Shift That Makes Selling Feel Easier

Most people think they're bad at sales. They freeze before a call, talk themselves out of following up and don't ask for the sale, convince themselves they're "just not a salesperson" and leave it at that. But being bad at sales is rarely the real problem. More often than not, people are focused on the wrong thing because sales was never about you. It's about the person in front of you and the problem they've come to you to solve. In this episode, we talk about what really holds people back in sales, from the fear of rejection to the assumptions we make about how people buy, why a process matters and how shifting your perspective can change the way you sell. Between us, we've worked in sales for a long time now as business owners and as employees, across both product and service-based businesses. We each bring a different perspective, shaped by our own experiences. ___________________    Download The Intentional Business Reset and start creating a business that feels calmer, clearer and more sustainable from the inside out. Kate With Intention: Choosing Intention Over Conditioning

Welcome to Kate With Intention, my own space within Built to Last. In these conversations, we'll explore what it means to build a successful business without sacrificing your health, values, home life or yourself along the way. Today, we're talking about the 'shoulds', the conditioning and the stories we tell ourselves that are running the show in our businesses and our lives and how to become more intentional. Years of working for other people taught us that leaving on time meant leaving early, that being worthy meant overgiving and that rest had to be earned. We carry it without realising, still pushing ourselves when our bodies are saying slow down, still measuring our worth by how much we do. So many people end up running their businesses the same way, doing things for everyone but themselves. It often comes back to a lack of self-worth and self-trust. I lived with that for years, right up to the burnout that forced me to pay attention. It doesn't have to be this way. You're allowed to make decisions that support you, no matter what anyone else thinks. I'm more at peace now than I've been in years and I see the same shift in the women and men I work with. They're becoming happier and healthier, making the moves they've been stuck on for years and finally choosing themselves. That's what choosing intention looks like. ___________________  Want support in shifting from reactive to proactive and creating a sustainable business?
