How I Made It In Hollywood and Business With Actress Rachele Brooke Smith on Following Your Dreams..

How I Made It In Hollywood and Business With Actress Rachele Brooke Smith on Following Your Dreams..

Everyone can be business owners. Even the professionals who work in the entertainment industry.

In this episode of The Business Mentor Podcast, Rachele Brooke Smith takes the hot seat again. In their first meeting, they talked about techniques for having mindset for success (see link below), today, they deepen the discussion about mindset and talk about the power of creativity.

Creativity is something that most people box into one category only—the arts. But this is totally wrong, ALL aspiring entrepreneurs are creative individuals too. And if you know how you can utilise it to impact people as well as achieve your own goals, then there can be endless possibilities!

Tune in now to know more about Rachele, her recent projects, her take on abundance mindset, failure, opinions, and more.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS
It’s high time we synonymised ‘failures’ to ‘learning’. Stop sulking about them. We must learn how to easily brush off every failure that happens. Be prepared and practice to be adaptable. That’s how successful business people act.
Abundance Mindset – There is enough for everybody to win. There are so many things that haven’t been done yet. Explore, create, and monetise. Think of ways you can bring solutions to other people’s problems. In this way, you attain your goals as well as others.
Creativity isn’t just for the actors, musicians, painters, etc. This not-that-secret capability of every single person in the world is (sadly) not utilised by entrepreneurs. Creativity goes a long way. It does not only help in the innovation process, but it also gives you an edge over your competitors. You have to believe in yourself, in what you can create.
Our internal world creates our external world. What we feel about ourselves will greatly manifest in how we value everything and treat other people.

Believe in yourself and have confidence. If we aren’t happy with who we are, there are chances that we will stray away from the path to our bright future.
Be careful with what you consume. There will be people who’ll give you positive feedback and constructive criticisms. But there are also people who will shove their opinions on you. You can always choose to shut them off and absorb only what can help you improve.

    BEST MOMENTS
“Curiosity and creativity are our greatest superpowers to fulfilment.”
“Stress and fear weaken our immune system.”
“I wanna experience life and enjoy the process.”
“It’s important for people to feel and not suppress their emotions.”

KEY To Building a SUCCESSFUL Business with Jay Dhillon ( Keynote Talk )

KEY To Building a SUCCESSFUL Business with Jay Dhillon ( Keynote Talk )

Today is your lucky day! This episode of The Business Mentor Podcast is a coverage of a keynote Jay has delivered for fellow entrepreneurs and professionals in his hometown, Derby. He gives out his top (and proven) strategies in making his business and brand successful. He also shares some of his experiences—from the 30-day business challenges to his property investing to the success of his podcasting.

Treat your business like a business. This is Jay’s ultimate advice for business owners. Document everything, put a reliable system in it and create a competitive team. Let Jay help you believe in yourself and tune in today.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS
Jay has encountered a lot of entrepreneurs making the mistake of not documenting EVERY little thing that happens in the business. He reiterates that it is a must. Those entrepreneurs spend most of their time firefighting, instead of thinking of new ways to be scale up their business.
Create a vision for your business—one with no limitations. Having a vision board will give you the clarity of where you want to go. Expect that your business won’t last long if you’re just drifting nonsensically.
Create different income streams. Property investment is still the best way to increase your wealth. For Jay, he did business first, then invested in property. He is now coaching and mentoring, aside from hosting his own podcast too. (It doesn’t really matter where you start, remember that.)
Focus on one platform. Jay particularly chose to dive deep in podcasts. Podcasting is easy. He also likes how he can repurpose his videos to audios or to other type of content. He is now providing content to thousands of people with the help of his media team.

    BEST MOMENTS
“It’s all about systems. It’s all about putting processes in place.”
“When you’re doing your vision, you need to do it without any limitations.”
“It takes time to build it up. You have to put the work in initially.”
“We have a hundred episodes now… That’s a bank of content.”

Building and Scaling a Business around Your Passion with Entrepreneur Mark Gardner

Building and Scaling a Business around Your Passion with Entrepreneur Mark Gardner

Nothing goes wrong when there’s a cup of coffee in hand! In this episode of The Business Mentor Podcast, Jay talks to MSG Tours Ltd Founder Mark Gardner about his multi-businesses, the travel industry, how he built his team, and his rise from an employee to CEO, aside from his passion for coffee.

Mark is an adventurous guy. He’s into sports and into traveling. This is regardless of how extreme or how absurd things get. Whatever it is, he’s always on the go. So, when he got a chance to start his brand which combines two of his two passions, he just went all in. No doubts, no reservations.

Right now, he has already offered tours and travel services to thousands of sports fans, travellers, tourists, and many more adventurous souls like his around the world. Be inspired today with his stories and tips when you tune in!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS
Dislocating a knee won’t stop our guest Mark Gardner from loving sports. When he learned he couldn’t do any extreme sports (i.e. snowboarding) anymore or join the military, he decided to look for opportunities elsewhere.
He coached about British soccer to kids in the USA. He also became a social secretary for a rugby team, which gave him a chance to travel the world.
He saw the possibility of mixing two things he’s passionate about. He wanted something where he could still be in the realms of sports & traveling whilst growing his wealth.
The travel industry is cash-rich. When tourists and travellers book tours with them, they pay weeks in advance. It’s easy to do a forecast on your cash flow and profits.
Market research is a vital step that some entrepreneurs don’t spend time on. According to Mark, it’s easy to outline and execute a plan if you know who you are creating for. There is also a reduced possibility of malfunctions since you can implement a fool-proof (or near to it) system in place.
Ask the question. If you’re going through a tough time, let somebody help you out. You can approach them directly. Or, you can start googling online for free resources provided by business mentors. There are a lot out there that exist, just like this podcast.

    BEST MOMENTS
“I made the wrong decision of following the herd.”
“To make rational calls in a very emotive industry that is fast-paced is actually crucial to the wellbeing of the business and its staff.”
“Travel is a great business to work in.”

MARK LITTLE : Highs and Lows of Professional Football and Investing for the Future.

MARK LITTLE : Highs and Lows of Professional Football and Investing for the Future.

There is not much difference in aiming to be a pro athlete and being a successful entrepreneur/investor. Our guest for today is English professional footballer Mark Little, and together with Jay, he discusses how similar the worlds of professional sports and business are. Aside from this, Mark also shares some moments from his football career, some tips for those who feel like they’re unproductive during this lockdown, and his interesting jump into the investing world.

You have to act smart if you want to maintain the success you’re enjoying. Tune in now to The Business Mentor Podcast to learn more about Mark Little and his big successes!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS
Being a pro athlete requires discipline and resiliency. There is too much pressure in the world of professional sports. You have to be dedicated to be able to endure it. For example, everyone should be mindful of not only their schedule but also their teammates. Sacrifices are going to be made. Not every athlete, just like any entrepreneur, get to spend their ‘free’ time in leisurely activities.
The shift from the world of sports to entrepreneurship might look like a disaster for the traditional-thinking people. But it isn’t. According to Mark, there isn’t a difference between being a rookie player and an aspiring entrepreneur. Every step should be thought through. One mistake, then the domino effect happens—you’ll need to take a pause then plan your next best move again.
We all have different priorities. Conversely, the gravity of your problems might not be as heavy as someone else’s. It’s best not to assume anything. If we are compassionate and understanding with one another, then it’s more fulfilling to achieve our successes.
Always put the work in. Nothing will ever happen if you wait for a miracle, fate, or a helping hand to DO it for you. For example, mentors are there to guide you and teach you valuable knowledge—but that’s it. If you don’t apply the things they impart, then your mentorship will go nowhere.

    BEST MOMENTS
“You have to go ‘through’ these tough times to grow from them.”
“When the economy is good everybody is flying.”
“I wasn’t that clever… but the thing that did for me is consistently showing up.”
“The only way you’ll wake up to this is to fast forward.”
“I’m gonna get ten million times further and quicker from listening to someone who knows more than me than doing it alone.”

How to ADAPT During Challenging & Disruptive Times with DANIEL PRIESTLEY :

How to ADAPT During Challenging & Disruptive Times with DANIEL PRIESTLEY :

smoothly adapt during these challenging times. Daniel is the founder of Dent Global and also an author of best-selling business books including Key Person of Influence.

According to Daniel, there are many ways that you can stay disruptive even amid the coronavirus pandemic! The key thing to do is to bring fresh ideas on the table and keep innovating. There are unseen opportunities out there—maybe even greater than what you’re expecting. Listen in to Jay and Daniel lay out all the tips and strategies for you today!

    KEY TAKEAWAYS
Daniel and his team had plans that were delayed because of the coronavirus outbreak. But this didn’t stop him from growing his business. There are still ways he can move, even if the effects aren’t as huge and fast as what he’d hope for. As entrepreneurs, we have to learn to adapt and make use of the available resources effectively.
According to Daniel, there are three mindsets of an entrepreneur: a monkey, a reptile, and an entrepreneurial visionary. Always aim to be the visionary entrepreneur.

The reptile wants to fight, flee, freeze, and freak out.
The monkey wants to tinker and pretend there’s nothing wrong.
The visionary entrepreneur wants to reinvent the future.
Keep innovating. There is no pause in improvement, in moving forward. The possibility of reverting from your accomplishments is bigger when you choose to get your foot off the pedal. There is competition not just in the market but with yourself too.
A scalable business has already developed IP, IT, and media.
We can improve the middle management in our business through team collaboration software tools. These tools can be utilised especially during this tough time, where we don’t have ‘direct’ supervision over our employees.
Where do we look for greater opportunities right now? Look into basic consumer needs. Build a business that solves one of the seventeen humanitarian or social issues in the world. This isn’t the time to invest on secondary and leisurely demands.

    BEST MOMENTS
“If you’re an entrepreneur, you’ve got to see yourself as like a surfer. You have to surf through every wave that comes along..”
“The winners are the people who maintain the entrepreneurial mindset despite what happens around them.”
“The fun part is building it, not having it.”
“Management is essentially not a value-adding layer. Management performs a function of coordination of labour.”

ELENA CARDONE : Building Your EMPIRE Is More IMPORTANT NOW Than EVER!

ELENA CARDONE : Building Your EMPIRE Is More IMPORTANT NOW Than EVER!

What are the Cardones up to lately?

In this episode of The Business Mentor Podcast, Jay talks to Elena Cardone about how the power couple (referring to her and Grant, of course) are staying sane, spending time with their family, and keeping their business up and running even though they’re stuck at home.

Luckily for the Grants, they’ve prepared for such a threat to their business empire. They’ve got their Plan B, and even more back-ups, up their sleeves. But what if we aren’t like them? What if our businesses are in the danger zone lately? Elena Cardone recognises this—that there will be more people who’ll be suffering from this outbreak. Listen to Elena give some tips so you can still get back up as soon as the economic turmoil dissipates. Other topics discussed today: separating business talks from family bonding time, maintaining healthy couple relationships, and more, so tune in.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS
Most analysts have long been telling us about a market crash, but this global market shutdown was not what they were expecting. This coronavirus pandemic totally changed everything. But Elena and Grant were prepared. This is what separates them from the others. And they really hope others were too.
The truth is, most small-scale businesses will suffer. They won’t survive this collapse. They must go back to the planning table and rethink of ways they can make it through this transition to—what most call—the ‘new normal’. Maybe this is the right time to reinvent and look at new ventures in other industries.
Always learn how to separate business stuff from your family life. We are all stuck at home, with very limited movement. We have even taken our work home. So, imagine the stress from work and the additional stress from all the COVID-19 news colliding—it could get difficult to keep the familial ties healthy.
It’s already difficult to avoid clashes of ideas or aspirations between two people who live together. Surely even more so with a couple who are in business together?

Whenever there’s an altercation, Elena sees to it that she makes the conscious effort to pause, breathe, and to be less emotionally reactive.
Trust is also very important—you have to let your partner do his/her part. And also, remember to always stand beside your partner no matter what.
Some tips from Elena so our businesses can go through this tough period:

Accept where we’re at and there will be a needed change.
Economise; don’t spend frivolously. You can use your resources to improve on yourself.
Surround yourself with positive people. Everything’s tough, so don’t let anyone make it tougher.
Find time to create fun now and then.
Do everything to remove the stress!

    BEST MOMENTS
“The uncertainty of not knowing the market, not knowing what’s coming, is stressful no matter who you are.”
“It’s hard to not get sucked up in it with the uncertainty going around.”
    “We will hire people”
“There are changes, and that you just have to accept that life is different.”
“Wear your role in the relationship despite the difficultness.”
