Episode 642 Love, Trauma & Returning to Yourself with Salima Adelstein

Send us Fan Mail In Episode 642, I sit down with Salima Adelstein, the only female Shadhili Sufi guide in the United States, whose life’s work is helping people heal wounded hearts, dissolve inner barriers, and reconnect with the Divine through unconditional love. Raised in a tight‑knit Jewish immigrant family, Salima’s journey took her from special education, hospice work, and alternative healing to a profound spiritual awakening in Jerusalem — where a Sufi master recognized her gifts, gave her the name Salima (“one who carries the peace of God”), and set her on a path of teaching, healing, and guiding others. We explore: ·       How trauma becomes part of your purpose ·       Why resentment lives in the body — and how to release it ·       What spiritual healing looks like in everyday life ·       How to reconnect with God after feeling abandoned ·       Why love is the doorway back to yourself ·       The Sufi understanding of the heart, veils, and inner wisdom ·       How to find peace that doesn’t disappear when life gets hard ·       The power of unconditional love vs. conditional family love Salima also shares the remarkable story of discovering her healing abilities while working with dying children, her father’s miraculous survival, and the moment her entire understanding of God, love, and purpose shifted forever. If you’re navigating resentment, trauma, spiritual disconnection, or the longing to feel whole again, this conversation will meet you right where you are. 3D AGO

Episode 641 Why We Explode: Shame, Hair Disasters & Healing the Heart with Elizabeth “Bizzy” Chance

Send us Fan Mail In today’s solo episode, I’m sharing the real story behind my 47‑color hair disaster — and how it cracked open something much deeper inside me. What looked like frustration about my hair was actually old shame, old wounds, and old stories bubbling up in ways I didn’t expect. I talk about the shame I’ve carried from my past, the “sins” I replay in my mind, and the Catholic guilt that shaped so much of my childhood. I open up about how those buried feelings come out sideways — yelling, snapping, overreacting, or melting down over something as simple as a bad color job. I also share what’s been going on in my heart around my adult kids, the ache of powerlessness, and how anxiety moves through my body from my stomach to my heart. And then I bring it all back to faith, forgiveness, and FUN — including the joy I found reading The Wizard of Oz and reconnecting with that younger, lighter part of myself. This episode is a reminder that we don’t have to carry yesterday into today. We can breathe, identify what’s really going on inside, and return to the light again and again. In this episode, I talk about: Why shame leaks out sidewaysCatholic guilt, confession, and carrying old “sins”Powerlessness over adult childrenAnxiety in the body vs. the heartFaith, forgiveness, and letting God carry the weightFinding fun again — even with bad hairThe Wizard of Oz and reconnecting with joyIf you’re feeling heavy, overwhelmed, or hard on yourself, this episode will help you breathe, soften, and remember you’re not alone. Episode 640 From Iraq to Intuition: Psychic Medium Drew Cali on Sobriety, Loss, and Spiritual Awakening

Send us Fan Mail In Episode 640, I sit down with nationally recognized psychic medium and spiritual teacher Drew Cali, whose journey from a fast‑paced business life to evidential mediumship began only after profound loss, trauma, and the decision to get sober. Drew opens up about his early struggles with addiction, serving in Iraq, losing his mother to cancer, the stillbirth of his daughter, and the suicide of his brother‑in‑law — a series of heartbreaks that pushed him toward therapy, sobriety, and ultimately a spiritual awakening he never expected. We talk about: ·      Drew’s sobriety story and how getting clean opened the door to his intuitive gifts ·      Mediumship as service, not performance — and why groundedness matters ·      Grief, trauma, and the unseen world ·      Imaginary friends, spiritual sensitivity, and childhood intuition ·      Why spirituality and sobriety are inseparable in his life ·      How he learned to trust his abilities after a lifetime of skepticism ·      The moment he realized he was “always at choice” in his healing Drew’s story is raw, real, and deeply human — a reminder that recovery and spiritual connection often rise from the same place: surrender. If you’re curious about mediumship, navigating grief, or finding your way back to yourself after loss, this conversation will stay with you. Episode 639 When Old Patterns Return: Finding Yourself Again After Spiritual Growth

Send us Fan Mail In this deeply honest solo episode, I open up about that surprising moment when spiritual growth meets real life — and old patterns start creeping back in. After coming home from a transformative retreat, I could feel myself slipping into familiar routines, self‑judgment, and autopilot living. Instead of hiding it, I share what it really feels like to lose that euphoric clarity and how I’m gently finding my way back. I talk about my ADHD tendencies, the anxiety that shows up as noise in my head, and the routines that keep me small. I also share the tools that are helping me stay grounded right now: prayer, meditation, the rosary, the new “Detachment” series on the Hallow app, and the emotional work I’m doing with my new therapist. This episode is a reminder that awareness is progress, change is possible, and none of us are alone on this journey. If you’ve ever felt yourself slipping backward after a breakthrough, this conversation will meet you right where you are. Topics in this episode: ·      Why spiritual breakthroughs fade when real life returns ·      Slipping back into old routines and how to pivot ·      ADHD tendencies and constant multitasking ·      Anxiety, noise, and the power of presence ·      Finding a therapist who truly fits ·      Prayer, meditation, and the rosary as grounding tools ·      The Hallow app’s new “Detachment” challenge ·      Remembering your strengths, not just your defects ·      Acceptance, awareness, and choosing a new path ·      You are not your worries — and you are not alone If you want my Friday newsletter, visit ElizabethChance.com. Episode 638 From Gambling Addiction to 30 Years of Recovery: Jay Sapovits on Ego, Identity & Staying Sober

Send us Fan Mail In this episode, I sit down with Jay Sapovits, someone whose honesty, humility, and long‑term recovery truly moved me. Jay shares his journey through compulsive gambling, emotional relapse, ego, identity, and nearly 30 years of recovery, and I found myself relating to so much of what he said. Jay and I talk about: ·      the first time he gambled at 13 and the rush that changed everything ·      how ego—not gambling—nearly took him out 10 years into recovery ·      what emotional relapse looked like for him ·      rebuilding his identity, relationships, and integrity through the 12 steps ·      the difference between staying sober and living sober ·      why meetings and service work keep him grounded ·      the loneliness of being “the life of the party” while dying inside ·      the moment he realized sobriety had to be his #1 priority ·      discovering golf as a healthy obsession and recovery tool ·      the song that carried him through early recovery (“Kiss From a Rose”) This conversation reminded me why I stay close to the rooms and why long‑term sobriety requires deeper work, not less. Jay’s honesty about ego, fear, and the daily practice of letting go is something every person in recovery will connect with. If you’ve ever wondered what recovery looks like after 10, 20, or 30 years… this episode will speak to you the way it spoke to me. Podcast 637 — Living in Grace: Accepting Your Story, Letting Go of Shame, and Finding Light Again with Bizzy

Send us Fan Mail I’m back home in Florida after weeks of walking, writing, and reflecting, and today I’m talking about something that has been sitting on my heart: living with grace and accepting your story exactly as it is. Writing my book has brought up memories I wanted to bury forever — the shame, the regret, the “I wish I had done it differently.” But grace asks us to look honestly at our past, accept it, and let it go. Every thread of our story — the good, the painful, the messy — weaves together to make us who we are. In this episode, I share: ·     how writing my memoir brought up old wounds ·      why acceptance is essential for emotional sobriety ·      how shame keeps us stuck in low‑frequency thinking ·      the brain’s habit of replaying old stories ·      how to interrupt negative loops and choose grace ·      why asking for help is a sign of strength ·      how to move from darkness into light If you’re tired of beating yourself up, tired of replaying the same story, or ready to step into a new chapter of your life, this episode will remind you that you are not alone — and that grace is always available. Episode 635 When Money Becomes the New Obsession with Bizzy

Send us Fan Mail In this deeply personal solo episode from Porto, Portugal, I share a revelation that hit me harder than I expected: my lifelong obsession with money. Not the amount of money — but the constant mental tallying, the fear, the scarcity mindset, the spinning thoughts that never seem to stop. Being alone in a foreign country with no distractions made something painfully clear: I’ve replaced one obsession (alcohol) with another (money). And for the first time, I could see the trauma behind it — childhood fear, family patterns, shame, control, and the belief that I’m never truly safe. I talk about: ·      The moment in Fatima when I begged the Blessed Mother to take this obsession from me ·      How money fear mirrors the compulsive thinking of addiction ·      Why being alone made the truth impossible to ignore ·      The stories we carry from childhood that shape our adult anxiety ·      How prayer, writing, and the 12‑step tools are helping me face this ·      Why identifying the obsession is the first step toward healing it If you’ve ever worried about money to the point of exhaustion — no matter how much or how little you have — this episode is for you.
