Life after news ,

Pulling back the curtain on current TV journalism

I was fortunate to have worked with Kaitlin when she made the jump to a major market. At that time, I had a few decades of work to reflect on. It wasn’t long before she started asking critical questions, which needed to be asked about content, approach, and the real value, or lack of it, that shows up on the air. It was impressive, refreshing, and she served as an “outlet” for others in the newsroom. I was thrilled when Kaitlin went to Boston, but not surprised when she realized the issues are universal, driven by ratings demand, and clickbait. Every Outlet episode is relevant and insightful. And I sit back, listen, and think “you go girl!” It’s an education for those in the media, and those considering becoming part of it, and perhaps changing it for the better!

Breath of Fresh Air and Smart

I cant tell you how refreshing it was to listen to a sober, unbiased, no agenda, honest, cerebral discussion about the media. Almost forgot what a healthy exchange of ideas sounded like, well thought out smart questions that are truly questions and not constructed to arrive at a predetermined answer. THIS is what journalism is!
