Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight

Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight

It's a Greek love fest here today on the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast.

Donna almost ran away with a cowboy and "all the women are saying aluminum foil." We take a few minutes to talk pronunciations after Donna's near-escape story.

Then we hear about applesauce and an act of true sportsmanship. (#FromtheBooth) Executive producer Carl is not surprised that it's a player from Oklahoma.

What's the difference between know-how and patience? Why don't the Jack's bikes have pedals? You'll find out both around the 31 minute mark.

Of course it wouldn't be a semi-music podcast if we didn't talk Carrie Underwood, Kanye West and… Pete Davidson? So, we tick those boxes before tuning out. Tune in and tick them for yourself.

Then call us and let us know how you say enchilada. 7704646024.

    Who is Joni Mitchell?

    Who is Joni Mitchell?

Morgan Wallen, Lady Antebellum, Britney Spears and MUCH more. It’s a music-pa-looza episode on today’s episode of Cadillac Jack – My Second Act.
Donna heads to Athens for a little business trip. Go Dawgs. While she was there she got to relive the glory days and also heard a motivational speech from UGA Athletic Director Josh Brooks. In it, he talked about what it took to build good company culture. Hear what advice he had to give that resonated with Donna.
Morgan Wallen made his big return to Atlanta last Thursday and Friday and Donna took Charlotte for a little mother/daughter concert. In short: he lives up to his reputation. Donna relives the concert, the atmosphere, the fans and the man that has become one of country music’s biggest stars.
Also in country music, Lady Antebellum has postponed the rest of its tour dates until 2023 after band member Charles Kelley announced that he is checking into rehab to deal with alcohol issues. Donna and Caddy applaud his bravery and the support that his fellow band members are showing him. Family first, they said. Amen.
Britney Spears is in the news after her former husband, and the father of her two boys, took some dirty laundry public when he revealed that their sons have decided they don’t want to see Britney anymore. Donna and Caddy talk about how divorce and stardom effect kids in a relationship and what a sh*tty move by K-Fed this was.
On the next episode, we’ll discuss the life and legacy of Olivia Newton-John, singer and actress, who passed away Monday at the age of 73.

    The bonus parent

    The bonus parent

Alright, let's go. It's time for the August 4th, rising moon, leo aligned, Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast.
Caddy went to producer Carl's favorite place this side of the Mississippi. The Splish Splash Laundromat. It got a little slippery.
Then importantly Donna talks about being a bonus parent, and we think a lot of listeners will relate.
Tyler Hubbard has launched a single career for his own Second Act. The Florida Georgia Line artist is out, about and rumbling on. But if you offered him $1 million to go back, does he?
Josh Turner also joins the show. Or does he? Listen about 34, 35 minutes in and you (definitely) will find out. Listen closely, then let us know. 7704646024.

Better hope that they practice discretion

Better hope that they practice discretion

Donna opens the show with a game based on a little TikTok sensation that involves rating people and adding qualities to them that either upgrades or downgrades their “score.” Would a girl with a dog named Dale Earnhardt be a plus or a minus for you?
Caddy breaks into his own house. Well, sort of. He has an explainer for the Thursday episode. Like, literally how the episode was dead and then it wasn’t. It involves a LOT of trust in his IT guy.
Joanna Cotten is stepping aside and taking another stage. Eric Church’s longtime backup singer appears to be leaving the band for a solo career. Caddy and Donna discuss what might be going on and what could be next for Joanna.
Also, Caddy teases the story about when Josh Turner drove to Johnny Cash’s house and knocked on his front door. You won’t want to miss it. Tune in.
And finally, Pod peep Doug joins the show to talk about how he found the podcast and to figure out how the hell he can get The Letter out of his damn spam folder.
What fictional character do you wish was real? Seriously. We want to know. Call or text 770-464-6024.

    White noise

    White noise

It's a short one here on Cadillac Jack: My Second Act. And we are only talking about length a little bit.
Have you thanked your IT guy today? We sure have. Better yet, make sure to visit them at Christmas, because you want to stay in their good graces. You have no idea the power they wield.
It's time to get out the film, shutterfly and scrapbooks. We're headed down (photographic) memory lane. If there was one thing you've done that you could relive, what would it be? Donna has two answers.
You know when an artist connects with the audience in a way that is just pure magic? Like when Luke Combs and 63,000 of his listeners creating a moment for one special fan? They're rare, and they do happen… but Country musicians seem to have a gift for it.
We do take a voicemail from pod peep Doug. He has a question for the show, and the Jacks try their best to answer. Then it's time to rag on our coworkers. Maybe even the show host who plays the worst background white noise in the history of podcasts for five minutes and 46 seconds. Who knows.

This is going to be a short episode

This is going to be a short episode

Donna is feeling a little under the weather, but she is going to power through it. First up, long time listeners of the pod will know that Caddy and Donna rarely drive anywhere together in the same car. Finally, we get some insight as to why.
Caddy has been decorating the studio to get ready for their big YouTube live debut. Here the latest and greatest on how that’s going.
Alan Jackson is going to be a grandfather! Find out what his grand baby will be calling him. Jamey Johnson updates, too. It’s a country music heavy episode!
And last, but certainly not least, Caddy and Donna pay tribute to Jay Grover, a dear friend who recently passed away. They attended his funeral this weekend and had a chance to reflect on some of their best memories, including – yes – the now infamous wet t-shirt contest years ago at Country Fair. And, as it turns out, the WINNER of that contest recently messaged Caddy on social media. He reads what she had to say live on air.
Any ideas for Caddy on what to deck the studio out with? We’re all ears. Text or call 770-464-6024. We’d love to hear from you.

I love this podcast!!!

It’s horrible what happened to Jeff Parker and I send prayers to his family. My husband trained the Rail Operators and has retired from MARTA in 2019. One thing no one is thinking about is the Operator of the train that hit Mr. Parker. It will take a long time for them to recover from this accident. My prayers are with this individual and their family.
