Am I Allowed to Live Beautifully?

Be confident... but not intimidating. Take up space... but not too much. Shine your light... but don't make it about yourself. Care about beauty... but not too much. After a while, it's no wonder so many women feel confused. We're surrounded by competing messages about who we're supposed to be, how we're supposed to show up, and what we're allowed to enjoy. Somewhere in the middle of all that noise, many of us have stopped asking a simple question: Am I allowed to live beautifully? And maybe more importantly: What does God think about that question? In this episode, we're exploring a surprising lesson hidden in the wilderness. While the Israelites were still wandering, still becoming, and still waiting for the Promised Land, God asked them to build something beautiful. Not later. Not when everything was fixed. Not when they finally arrived. Right there in the middle of the mess. Together we'll explore: ✨ Why beauty sometimes feels suspicious✨ The whispers that convince us to shrink ourselves✨ Why living beautifully has less to do with vanity and more to do with worth✨ How identity and behavior begin to match✨ Why God cared about beauty in the wilderness✨ How to stop postponing joy, peace, and becoming✨ Why beauty is at its best when it points us toward GodBecause maybe the beautiful life isn't waiting somewhere in the future. Maybe God is inviting us to notice it, build it, and live it right here. To recognize instead of apologize. To celebrate instead of diminish. To let beauty point us toward God. Not from the outside in. But from the inside out. It's a beauty manifesto... and it's time to live beautifully! Walking With Jesus When You Can't Take Another Step

Sometimes life hands us a moment we never would have chosen. A diagnosis. A phone call. A loss. A season of uncertainty. And suddenly the things that felt manageable yesterday don't feel manageable anymore. In this deeply personal episode, Ash talks about how to carry questions we can't answer, and wrestling with what it means to trust God when life feels too heavy to take a step forward. If you've ever found yourself wondering: • How do I walk with Jesus when I can barely breathe? • How do I trust God when I don't know what's going to happen? • What do I do when I don't have the strength to keep going? • How do I find comfort when grief, fear, or uncertainty take over? This conversation is for you. Together, we'll explore three simple anchoring truths: ✨ Compassion — Jesus moves toward people who are hurting. ✨ Trust — We can trust His character even when we don't understand the outcome. ✨ Rest — We were never meant to carry everything on our own. Most of all, we'll talk about the hope found in a Savior who doesn't stand far away and tell us to try harder. He comes closer. He carries what we cannot. And He is remarkably good at holding people who can't take another step. If you're walking through grief, fear, uncertainty, heartbreak, or one of those seasons where simply making it through the day feels hard, this episode is a reminder that you are not alone. You don't need strength. You don't need enthusiasm. You don't need a plan. You just need Jesus. ☕ Coffee Question: What is one burden you've been trying to carry that you need to place in Jesus' hands today? 📖 Scripture: Matthew 8–11 🎙️ If this episode encouraged you, consider sharing it with someone who may need a little extra comfort and hope today. I Called My Kid the Dog’s Name: The Weird Neuroscience of Name-Calling

Apparently my brain thinks my child and my dog belong in the same emotional category… because I recently called my kid the dog’s name. 😂 In this episode, we’re getting curious about the weird neuroscience behind why humans constantly mix up names—and what it reveals about stress, attention, relationships, emotional connection, and overloaded brains. We’ll talk about:  why parents and teachers mix up names  why kids call teachers “Mom”  what “attention residue” does to the brain  and why this may actually say more about connection than confusion And somewhere in the middle of all of this, we’ll also talk about Here Hearts—tiny physical reminders that help us slow down, transition more intentionally, and actually arrive in the moments we’re living. ✨ Get your copy of Love Moves  here 🎧 Prefer listening? This Isn’t a Normal Podcast Episode… It’s a 6-Minute Inside-Out Makeover

Today’s episode is a little different. 💛 For my birthday this year, instead of just talking about peace, nervous system resets, overwhelm, or reconnecting with God… I wanted to actually give you an experience. So this episode includes a full guided Love Move — a simple 6-minute, body-first, inside-out makeover designed to help you interrupt spiraling thoughts, calm your nervous system, reconnect with truth, and come back inside. And yes… there is also a very enthusiastic worship dance moment involved. 😂 This Love Move is centered around something we often skip: ✨ celebration. Not performative celebration.  Not fake positivity. But actually pausing long enough to acknowledge: 👉 this mattered. Because when we slow down and intentionally recognize goodness, growth, peace, connection, or even a tiny shift in how we feel, we help our brains and bodies integrate the experience instead of rushing past it. That’s part of how lasting change happens. So whether you’re overwhelmed, emotionally heavy, mentally stuck, exhausted, or simply needing a reset… this episode is an invitation to pause for six minutes and reconnect your mind, body, and spirit. 💛 If you’re driving or seated while listening, simply do gentle shoulder rolls throughout the Love Move to stay engaged safely. In this episode:  a guided Love Move experience  nervous system regulation + faith  body-first peace practices  celebration as integration  reconnecting instead of striving  calming spiraling thoughts  why small moments of peace matter  how movement can help shift your state And most importantly: 👉 this mattered. If this episode encouraged you, would you share it with someone you love? And if you want to go deeper, my new book Love Moves is officially out now and available wherever books are sold. 💛 You don’t have to build peace.  You’re invited to come home to it. Why Everyone Feels Exhausted in May (and What Your Brain Needs)

Okay, I need to know if this is just me… or is May secretly the most busy, full, overwhelming month of the entire year? Because somehow every human being decided: let’s do graduations, field days, teacher appreciation week, Mother’s Day, performances, testing, schedule changes, summer planning, emotional breakdowns, and fourteen extra responsibilities… ALL AT THE SAME TIME. And if your brain suddenly feels scattered, emotionally thinner than normal, overstimulated, exhausted, forgetful, or behind on everything right now… there’s actually a reason for that. In this episode, we’re getting curious about:  cognitive load  attention fragmentation  “attention residue”  transition fatigue  why overloaded seasons affect us so deeply  and why overwhelm is not a character flaw Because maybe the question isn’t: “What’s wrong with me?” Maybe the better question is: “What is my brain and body carrying right now?” And honestly?  That changes the conversation. ✨ Get your copy of Love Moves here ✨ Get encouragement, tools, and practical resets each month START HERE IF YOU WANT MORE PEACE → ✨ Love Moves (the book) — your starting point for the six-minute inside-out makeoverStart your inside-out makeover with Love Moves 💌 The Monthly Pour — pour a little peace into your inbox each monthGet the Monthly Pour 🌿 Try Love Moves: The 6-Minute Inside-Out Makeover — simple, guided practices to reset your nervous system and actually feel better in mind, body, and spiritTry a 6-minute Love Move ✨ Join The Brim — where peace becomes a habit and you build your portable gym for your nervous system Join The Brim 🔗 Explore more at Called & CuriousVisit Called and Curious Questions or hellos? Let’s Talk About My Coffee Machine: Why You’re Resisting the Very Thing That Could Change Your Life

Why do we resist the very things that could make our lives better? Not the big, pack-your-bags, change-your-life kind of changes… But the small, daily shifts that would actually bring more peace, clarity, and ease into our lives. In this episode of the Called and Curious Podcast, Ashriel unpacks the surprising reason change feels so hard—and why the “simple things” we avoid are often the exact doorway to transformation. Because we’ve all felt it… That resistance to:  starting something new  doing it a different way  putting in effort up front  or stepping into something that stretches us Even when a part of us knows… this could actually help me. So instead, we stay where it’s familiar. Where it’s easier. Where it’s…fine. But what if “fine” is keeping you from something better? What if the thing you’re resisting… is actually where the shift is waiting? Not overnight. Not instantly. But slowly…consistently…over time. Until one day, you realize—  it’s easier. it’s natural. it’s even…enjoyable. And there it is… your version of the sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Discover:  Why your brain resists change (even when it’s good for you)  The hidden phase of growth most people quit in  How small, repeated actions move from effort → ease → automatic  A simple, faith-rooted framework to help you move through resistance  What it really looks like to “stay long enough for the blessing”  💛 Ready to move from resistance to real change? Love Moves gives you a simple, practical way to do just that: ✨ The six-minute inside-out makeover ✨ A guided way to move your body, return your attention to God, and renew your mind in truth ✨ A repeatable rhythm you can come back to—no matter what your day looks like 👉 Grab your copy of Love Moves here: Get My Copy Because you don’t need more information.
