Welcome to Camp WaybackThe past isn’t dead. It’s just been waiting for us to come back. Welcome to Camp Wayback — the podcast where three lifelong friends punch their ticket back to the movies, toys, TV shows, music, pop culture, and gloriously questionable decisions that made growing up in the ’80s and ’90s unforgettable. This isn’t a history lesson. It’s a campfire conversation. Every episode, we head back to a time when Friday night meant wandering the video store, Saturday morning meant cartoons, action figures ruled the toy aisle, movie stars felt larger than life, and discovering something awesome usually came from a friend saying, “Dude…you HAVE to see this.” We’ll revisit the movies we wore out on VHS. The toys we begged our parents for. The characters we wanted to be. The songs we still know every word to. The forgotten gems we refuse to let die. And every once in a while, we’ll ask the dangerous question: Was this stuff actually as awesome as we remember? Expect ridiculous debates, brutally honest opinions, personal stories, deep dives, forgotten memories, plenty of laughs, and three grown men proving that apparently there is no age limit on arguing about 1980s movies and action figures. But Camp Wayback is about more than nostalgia. It’s about why this stuff still matters. Why a movie can instantly take you back to being 12 years old. Why seeing an old toy on a shelf can unlock a memory you haven't thought about in 30 years. Why the things we loved growing up somehow became part of who we are today. So grab a seat by the fire. Crack open something cold. And leave adulthood back at the cabin. Welcome to Camp Wayback. You’ve been here before.

The Ultimate ’80s Toy Rewind: Part 1 • He-Man, G.I. Joe, Transformers & the Toys That Raised Us

This week, Camp Wayback is heading back to a time when Saturday morning cartoons were basically 30-minute toy commercials, Christmas catalogs were sacred texts, and nothing hurt worse than hearing the words “Put that back—we’re not buying anything today.” Mookie, Crawdaddy, and the Big Red Machine are cracking open the toy box for Part 1 of our Ultimate ’80s Toy Rewind! We’re revisiting the action figures, vehicles, playsets, cartoons, commercials, and ridiculously awesome toy aisles that helped define our childhoods. From He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, G.I. Joe and Transformers to the toys we begged for, the ones we actually owned, and the Holy Grails we’re still kicking ourselves for losing, we’re digging into what made growing up with toys in the 1980s feel so damn special. But this isn’t just about plastic action figures. It’s about ripping open a brand-new toy on Christmas morning. Digging through the pegs looking for that ONE figure. Trading with your friends. Creating massive battles on the bedroom floor. And somehow turning a handful of toys into an entire universe before Mom yelled that dinner was ready. So grab the Sears Wish Book, pour yourself a bowl of sugary cereal, and meet us back in the toy aisle. 🔥 Welcome to Camp Wayback—where the campfire is burning, the nostalgia is real, and we absolutely should have kept those toys in the box. And this is only Part 1…
