The REAL Reason Canadians Are Unhappy (And How To Fix It)

Canada has dropped in the latest World Happiness Report… but is anyone really surprised? We’re told Canada is one of the best countries in the world - and in many ways, it is. But the reality for a lot of Canadians looks very different:Rising cost of livingHousing that feels out of reachGrowing stress and financial pressureAnd a younger generation that feels like they’re starting behindAt the same time, social media is playing a bigger role than ever - fueling comparison, anxiety, and a constant feeling of falling behind. In this video, Randall Arsenault break down:Why Canada is slipping in global happiness rankingsWhy young Canadians are being hit the hardestThe role social media is playing in all of thisAnd a simple (but uncomfortable) way to start fixing itWe’re also seeing:Millions of Canadians on anxiety medicationA major rise in mental health strugglesAnd a growing dependence on digital habits that may be making things worseThis isn’t about blaming people - it’s about looking at the system and environment we’re living in… and asking some hard questions. Is this a real decline in happiness, or are Canadians finally being honest about how they feel? Pepper Spray Won't Stop An Attacker - Here's Why

There’s a growing push in Canada to legalize pepper spray for self-defence - and honestly, I understand why.People are feeling less safe. Random attacks are happening. And many Canadians feel like they have no real options to protect themselves. But here’s the part nobody talks about…Pepper spray does NOT stop everyone. As a police officer with over 20 years of experience, I’ve used it - and I’ve been sprayed myself during training. Officers don’t just carry these tools… we train with them, get exposed to them, and requalify regularly to use them under pressure. And even then… it doesn’t always work the way people think it will.People can fight through it.It can escalate situations. And in some cases - it can make someone even more aggressive. So the question becomes:If a tool like this isn’t always effective in trained hands… what happens when it’s used in a high-stress situation with no training? This isn’t about telling people they shouldn’t defend themselves. Canadians deserve to feel safe - and we absolutely need better conversations around self-defence laws, repeat offenders, and public safety. But we also need to be honest about what actually works… and what might give a false sense of security. So what do you think? Should Canadians be allowed to carry pepper spray for self-defence? Or are we giving people a tool that might not protect them the way they think it will? For more, please visit www.CanadaOffScript.com #pepperspray #selfdefense #selfdefence #personalsafety #canada #canadanews #publicsafety #lawandorder #CanadaOffScript

Why 'Tax The Rich' Won't Fix Government Waste in Canada

Is “tax the rich” really the solution to Canada’s economic problems - or is it a political distraction? In this episode of Canada Off Script, Randall Arsenault breaks down the numbers behind Canada’s federal budget, tax revenue, and projected $78 billion deficit for 2025-2026. The top 1% and top 20% of earners already contribute a significant portion of Canada’s income tax revenue - so is raising taxes the answer, or should we be focusing on government spending, waste, and accountability? After watching an interview featuring Rick Rubin and Stephen A. Smith discussing the “tax the rich” narrative, Randall wanted to bring the conversation home to Canada. He covers:How much the top 1% actually pays in CanadaFederal deficit projectionsGovernment spending and fiscal responsibilityClass warfare vs accountabilityWhy many Canadians are frustrated with rising taxesThe difference between necessary debt and reckless overspendingMost Canadians don’t mind paying taxes when the money is used responsibly - for infrastructure, healthcare, parks, transit, and community support. But when deficits grow and waste becomes normalized, simply demanding higher taxes may not fix the underlying issue. Is “tax the rich” economic policy - or political messaging?
