Capable Cockroach

Capable Cockroach

Capable Cockroach is a growing library of warm, imaginative audio stories for children, built with a little more underneath them. Behind every story is a psychology-informed framework designed around the many different parts of growing up: understanding feelings and body signals, handling frustration, making mistakes, navigating friendships, setting boundaries, facing fears, becoming more independent, adapting to change, and figuring out the countless situations that do not come with an instruction manual. That means the stories are not chosen at random. The library is built deliberately to grow across a wide range of experiences, questions, skills, and challenges children encounter along the way. But the psychology stays underneath the story — never on top of it. Cockroach is busy living his life: getting frustrated with a zipper, wondering whether to raise his hand, feeling left out, getting scared, saying the wrong thing, trying again, needing help, and sometimes handling things beautifully. Sometimes absolutely not. The stories are warm, funny, thoughtful, and always story first, child first — with no perfect heroes and no heavy-handed lessons. For grown-ups, there is intention and psychological understanding behind the library. For children, there is simply a very capable little cockroach having interesting things happen to him. No lectures. No perfect heroes. Just good stories about figuring things out. Two new stories every week. Narrated by Danielle Fliller
