CC224: Do We Ever Experience Anything Begin to Exist? The Mereological Nihilism Objection to the KCA
There's a common objection to the Kalam Cosmological Argument that goes something like this: we never actually experience anything beginning to exist, we only ever experience new arrangements of pre-existing material. Hence, since we don't experience things really beginning to exist, the Kalam's causal principle is left unsupported. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Justin Mooney, a philosopher specializing in mereology (the study of part-whole relations) to discuss whether this objection has any merit.

New Listener
I first heard Cameron on Pints With Aquanis and have since found your show. Well done!
Discussing world religions
I thoroughly enjoyed the refreshing perspective on discussing world religions. I am a Christian, but have a lot of Buddhist friends, and this encouraged me greatly living in that faith filled tension. Even with all of the technical difficulties, it still got through!
Deep intellectual stimulating conversations
I’ve only recently found the podcast/YouTube channel, however, I have quickly devoured most of the episodes. Great conversation, even if I can’t always understand every philosophical idea. It’s stretching me and I’m loving it! Thanks!
