#42: Red Flags You Can’t Ignore!

Sometimes there can be glaringly obvious red flags but we somehow find a way to excuse terrible behavior for the sake of giving someone the benefit of the doubt (even when they don’t deserve it).
In this month’s series, we’re talking with Lauren Lake to share all the ways to recognize red flags and how to avoid them.

#40: Are You Using LinkedIn Correctly?

Fall has the tendency to be the time of year when you get reinvigorated and motivated to finish the year strong. It’s usually the time where you reflect and evaluate if you’re truly professionally happy.
And usually, the first place to go is LinkedIn.
But you may be wondering how do you reach out to folks on LinkedIn if you haven’t spoken to them in years? Or with all the daily updates and changes, are you even using LinkedIn correctly?

    #39: Why Representation Matters

    #39: Why Representation Matters

There was a time when low representation was a norm but times are changing (thank goodness–I mean there is still a lot of work to do, but slow progress is still progress nonetheless). Companies are starting to realize they need to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion or they will be out of talent.
In this month’s speaker series podcast episode that is exactly what we are talking about!
I had the privilege of interviewing Adriele Parker. She is a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) thought partner with over 13 years of combined experience in DEI strategy, recruiting, learning and development, career development, and coaching. She specializes in agile DEI strategy development & implementation, inclusive leadership development, employee resource groups (ERGs), and inclusive team dynamics.
She has a particular interest in building inclusive workplaces and reducing systemic barriers that affect the success of marginalized populations. Outside of DEI, Adriele is passionate about family & friends, her pup (@rouxthelilpoo), supporting other Black women, cooking (please send recipes!), investing, and upcycling clothing.
During our chat, she talks about why representation matters and what to do to push your organization if it’s missing.

Carolyn is also the Founder and CEO of Productions.com, a job marketplace for production professionals that connects studios, music labels, and corporate brands to vetted local production talent. She talks about how she used all of her passions to pursue her ultimate goal of entrepreneurship, while still working her 9-5.

Raven WB ,

I didn’t even realize I needed this space

I really didn’t think I needed this safe space, but I am so glad that I found it. Listening to the episodes, it has challenged me to advocate more for myself in the workplace. I realized I was not using my voice to be the ‘captain’ and was allowing others to steer my ship! Ohh, no more!! Thank you Merete Fields for such great content!

K.Tiy ,

Cannot wait!!

listening to the intro episode was sensational! I have been struggling with salary negotiations for ALL of my professional career! This is the podcast!
