    s3, ep 6: Silver Linings

    On this final episode of caretoshare we interview a very special guest who went viral on TikTok for posting her experience with cancer as a young adult. Based in New York and currently in her final stages of treatment, Arise Rombotis shares her story with us detailing everything from the early days of diagnosis to coping with a new body image. We know that not everyone will approach cancer in the same way, but Arsie's positive outlook was something that we believe could be very useful for many; Arsie saw cancer as something to be challenged, defeated and overcome. We spoke about Arise back in 2021 when we first noticed her presence on TikTok and so felt that this interview would be a perfect finale to the incredible journey caretoshare has taken. We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did and stay tuned to see what the future holds for caretoshare!

    This episode has been edited from our radio show. For those of you new to caretoshare it was originally a radio show that broadcasted live every Monday. Although we have now moved to podcast form, we feel that the interviews and discussions from the show will be invaluable to our listeners. For this episode, we interviewed a young adult who was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma during the Covid-19 pandemic to see how she got through some of the darker days. This episode offers inspiration and motivation for those struggling with a cancer diagnosis to show the ways it can be used as a positive experience.

For this episode we discussed family and friends being diagnosed with cancer and how difficult this can be. Most young people may not get cancer but all know of someone who has and that is why the advice given in this episode is incredibly useful.

For this episode we talked all about men's cancer, signs and symptoms and how to check. We interviewed a medical student who was diagnosed with Leukaemia back in 2018 to discuss his experience and to emphasise how important it is for men to speak out about their health issues.

    season three, episode 2: How age changes a cancer diagnosis

    On this episode we focused on how being a young adult can change the experience of a cancer diagnosis. We discuss the importance of getting a second medical opinion and persisting if something doesn't feel right; we also delve into Valentina's experience with IVF and how the possibility of infertility has impacted her life. This podcast is aimed at young adults and on this episode, we explain why.

    season 3, episode 1: Coronavirus and Cancer

    We are back for season three of caretoshare and we are kicking off with an episode about coronavirus and its impact on a cancer diagnosis. Whilst Corona is no longer a major concern for most people, it remains another hurdle for cancer patients to overcome. Although masks may have disappeared for many, the memory of Corona lives on in the experiences of cancer patients. Join us whilst we reflect on the more challenging days of corona but also what it means for many today.

    S2, ep 7: Going Back to "Normal" Life After Cancer

    On the final episode of SEASON 2 we discussed life after cancer. Unless you have experienced cancer yourself or through family/friends, you probably wouldn't realise that 'life after cancer' is a thing. When that bell rings we tend to think that it is over, but for many people this is the time when the dust setttles and the realisation of what has happened becomes apparent. That's why we felt it was important to highlight some concerns that are normal to have and stress how ueseful it is to talk in these situations, take it each day at a time, and focus on small goals. It's a marathon, not a race! But first our cancer of tge week: prostate cancer...

    S2, ep 6: International Women's Day

    On this weeks episode of caretoshare, we collaborated with the University of York boob team in affiliation with CoppaFeel! As Alessara is president and Valentina is their creative director, we invited the events officer Caitlin to discuss women's empowerment and cancer awareness. Join us for an important conversation about #BreaktheBias which is this year's campaign theme. We discuss how women can support each other and the male role in supporting international women's day. But first, our cancer of the week- Ovarian Cancer.
