Cassie Stephens

I’m a young adult, and a nurse, and have found this podcast to be filled with great ideas and advice regarding art and life in general. I used to sew as a child, but that was about the extent of my creative outlets, though I’ve always loved creating things. This podcast has motivated me to incorporate art (in various forms) back into my life on a regular basis, and in turn has brought some life back into my life. Love listening and watching on YouTube!

Cassie is so generous with all of her project ideas and resources. She is hilarious to listen to, and gives amazing tips and advice on teaching elementary Art. I’ve been an elementary Art teacher for 13 years and learn something new every time I listen to her, or look up her posts!

While I don’t have as many years in the classroom as Stephens, we’re almost the same age (I took creative career side roads between mid-1990s student teaching & discovering I had returned to a traditional art classroom again), so I *get* all her pop culture references!! Cassie makes me laugh, helps me with practical day to day art teacher things, and most of all, she takes the time to be courageous: she will often speak to that deep dark scary - and sometimes heartbreakingly lonely - place that many art specialists know so well. Her podcasts say: “You. Are. Not. Alone.” Not knowing me at all, she sure knows much of my daily struggles pretty well. What a gift to have Cassie Stephens as our Art Teacher Encourager Voice right inside the classroom with us ♥️
