I need to start with a disclaimer. I am good friends with Adam Stanco’s parents and have known Adam his entire life.so, Adam is very special to me and my family. He played pickup basketball in our driveway and we played in his(Adam and his brother Randy were way way better than we were.)
That being said, take my word for it, this podcast is special. They have superb guests and Adam and his co-host, Noah are masterful Interviewers. Their question help their guests articulate unique insights. They take their listeners to a higher plain of understanding.
In addition, they have a good balance of the current scene and basketball history so the shows in general always feel fresh. I heard that in the podcast world that’s called Evergreen. The shows stay relevant. They also bring in unique guests. They recently interviewed a well known high school coach who had insights and experiences with numerous NBA stars. But it’s not all about stars. Former role players, coaches etc know pieces of the game that most of us even committed fans are clueless about. This show has taught me to understand the game on a deeper level.
Years ago I read George Will’s baseball book “ Men at Work”. Most people get bored watching baseball because they have a limited understanding of the subtleties of the game. Reading his book changes that. Adam and Noah do the same thing for basketball fans. Listen to their podcast and you will understand basketball on a new higher, more enjoyable level.
