Truly Beautiful Men

If you see me driving a gold Honda Odyssey full of wriggling children on the salty roads of Northern Indiana, I’m definitely listening to Catholic Stuff! I’m trying to drown those children out with the sound of a group of holy priests who are led by the Holy Spirit and who are totally human and totally Catholic.

Being a member of the Roman rite, I love the Byzantine perspective. I love the midwestern humor, the clinking of ice in a highball glass, the cultural reference injections from far away lands that I will never have the opportunity to visit. I love the juxtaposition of the recollection of a ski trip and a fast food binge in one banter session and the mulling of philosophers, saints, celebrities, and liturgy (with a sprinkling of a German, Latin, or Italian language lesson) that is presented delicately to this red-blooded American.

The entire experience is confusing, cerebral, hilarious, and pious. I find each episode to be profound but I have also spouted water through my nose listening to the wit and humor coming through the speakers.

The podcast realm is inundated with content but I prefer to learn something, laugh, and maintain a clear Catholic conscience with the CSYSK show. I have been a listener since 2016 but I’ve finally caught up with every episode. I feel like these men are my brothers and friends and I hope they continue for ten more years. In that time, I’ll probably have upgraded the van to a small bus, but you can identify me by my CSYSK sticker on the back window. Bravo Fathers, Bravo!

Came back home

I have been a lifelong Catholic and in recent years have just kinda been going through the motions. CSYSK restarted the fire in my heart for my relationship with God and the church. Thank you.
