A lighthearted exploration of various prominent and obscure Catholic topics.
The Measure of The World
Fr. John and Jacob discuss how Christ is the key to interpreting reality and the necessity of seeking meaningfulness in all things.
Graceful Like God
Fathers Mike and Sean chat about some faces of Grace in the Bible and on the throne.
Fall Kick Off
You asked and we answered. All four hosts kick off fall by taking on a list of your questions.
Tridentine Bible School
What was the topic anyway?
Fr. Mike & Jacob discuss ecumenism, Mother Theresa and the Bible.
The Hidden Life
In this week’s episode, Father John & Jacob discuss the paradox of living a life hidden in Christ while living in the world as a Christian.
Frank the Tank
How many Popes can fit in a nursing home?
Fr. Sean & Fr. Mike discuss the question, “Does the Pope ever phase out of fulfilling the role of Pope?”.
Love the question and answer segment. Glad to know how to answer some of the crazy questions kids ask.
It has changed - I was always pro banter!
This used to be one of my favorite podcasts. I agree with some of the other reviewers that since Fr Nathan left, it has gotten pretty dull and boring. I am hoping that there will be a return to the fun topics and stories that naturally flow from a group of priests living out fraternity together. I do not need another podcast that is a long theological discussion on an obscure topic. Honestly if people want that they are going to listen to Pints With Aquinas anyways. I will hang in a little while longer to see if the addition of these new hosts brightens things up.
So glad you’re back… but Catholicism is weird
So glad you’re back and loving the cross-over with the GR crew, but the church is weird y’all.
1) We eat God
2) We maintain an embodied tradition which is 2000 years old.
Also, genuinely, how exactly do we open ourselves to God’s work on our hearts without those externals Fr. Larkin is talking smack about? You can condemn Jansenism and rigorism all you want and I’ll join you heartily. But not if it means discount quietism. Culture matters, and ours isn’t nor should be normal. Haven’t you seen today’s normal? Is that worth aping? Also, what’s wrong with 13th century garb, at least for religious? I don’t think the Dominicans should give up their habits, or did I miss a beat?
Really wanted to agree with this last episode’s conversation, but it was the second most frustrating episode since “Drinks After Lord’s Day.” Still love the podcast, and thanks for all you do!
