Alanna K. ,

Thank you!

This podcast is so so good. Each of the priests have such wonderfully unique perspectives on a broad range of Catholic topics. I have been a longtime listener and have several podcasts I go back and listen to regularly, but recently Fr. Mike’s perspective on “Be at rest my soul” was an absolute delight. Thank you fathers for your joy and authenticity. You are a gift!

Worth it

Ok, the truth is, if you’ve never listened to these guys before and you just want to listen to an episode and be done with it, this isn’t for you. This is definitely something where the more you listen and get to know the hosts (and the more you can follow along with the banter), the more you get out of it. When I first started listening, I skipped past the banter (which is usually about the first 10-15 minutes of each episode), but now I absolutely love it. It gives me such an interesting glimpse into the love they have for their vocations and the fruit from it.

But these guys (all priests) are definitely normal, average guys. When I first started listening, they sounded so normal that I wasn’t sure how seriously they took the faith. But after listening and actually getting to know them, I can see now that they hold their faith with utmost importance and reverence, so much so that I can’t believe I missed it. They truly have a deep love for God and His Church, and it’s beautiful. They approach their topics with this perfect balance of wonder and respect and this taking lightly of themselves. Part of what makes the podcast so great to listen to is the example from these guys’ genuine companionship and love for the Lord. And they’re SMART!! They’re very well educated and have such good discussions and the intellectual part of me just feeds off of it. I usually just want them to keep talking!! Banter included!!

Something to understand is that this podcast isn’t their top priority. They’re priests who started this podcasts as a side thing and are as busy and committed to their ministries as the priests in anyone’s life are. These are casual discussions that they have over a microphone and their choice of alcohol. And like they said in an episode, these are just conversations they have amongst themselves anyway. There’s nothing serious here, and yet, there’s so much to get out of it.

I started listening when I was maybe a sophomore in high school, and I keep up with every episode as a sophomore in college! They’ve gotten me through art classes, room purges, long car rides, spiritually dry days, overnight shifts, and everything in between. If you’re willing to sit through a few episodes and brave the banter (which is skippable, but why would you?!), you’ve found a treasure. I highly, highly recommend hopping on the bandwagon.
