He is the Director of Teacher Education and the Developing Effective Bilingual Educators (DEBER) with Resources Project Director at the Southwestern Community College District. He is a professor in the English department at Southwestern Community College.     The CCLEAD Scholars Podcast is a new podcast featuring conversations with the brightest minds in postsecondary educational leadership from San Diego State University's doctoral program in educational leadership with a concentration in community college/postsecondary educational leadership (a.k.a. CCLEAD). I'm your host, Lawson L. Hardrick-Cervantes, and I'm passionate about community colleges and their work because that's where I started my postsecondary journey. There are five (5) main intentions of the podcast: To support students' learning and development model and provide an additional method of exposure to their colleagues' lived experiences and research interests. We believe it is important to use podcasting to promote equity and social justice in education. We also want to use podcasting to build community among educational leaders. We believe that we can learn from and support each other through podcasting. We want to use podcasting to allow our doctoral students to share their creativity and unique perspectives. We'd like the student interviewees to consider where they have been, where they are now, and where they might want to take their work. Some topics we'll be exploring include: Positionalities, research interests, equity in education The challenges and opportunities of being an educational leader in community colleges/postsecondary education I welcome you to stay connected through Instagram to stay in touch about new releases.
