    Gio’s Garden Celebrates Ten Years

    Gio’s Garden Celebrates Ten Years

Charlotte Deleste is a journalist in Wisconsin. Her son, Giovanni, was born with a rare genetic condition that caused him to have up to 80 seizures a day. Despite his disabilities, Gio was declared “not disabled enough” to get home nursing care. She couldn’t believe it. Instead of accepting a system that felt broken, she and her husband created what has turned into a non-profit helping hundreds of families with respite care, therapy, and family support. You will be inspired by her drive to get her son, and other families, the help they need.

“That’s all we want to do, just make a difference, make a positive difference and hope that it just keeps going and somebody else will do the same down the road.”

We need more episodes 💗

In a world where there is so much negative, I seriously can’t wait every Monday when a new episode drops to learn more about how the autistic community is impacted by researchers, parents, teachers, and themselves. Debbie has a great way of interviewing people and asking real and raw questions. Love the authenticity and the joy that shines through every episode. It makes me want to wrap my arms around everyone in this community.

Loved this

I saw this segment on KSL 5 News last night and was very excited to listen to it. I’m a Nana with grandson’s diagnosed with Autism. The podcast didn’t disappoint and gave me hope. I laughed & cried many times out of recognition, with the struggles but also the joy that comes from the subtle milestones that happen in their lives. I look forward to listening to more to learn from others dealing with the same.
