Central Synagogue Podcast
Central Synagogue’s brilliant and welcoming staff and clergy have helped this non-Jew get through the dark times of the pandemic through their virtual programs. This podcast replays some of the sermons and adds other things as well, including Rabbi Buchdahl’s twice-weekly meditation. The interview with Dr. Ruth is a highlight, presenting this remarkable woman in conversation with Rabbi Buchdahl.
Generally interesting sermons less so on Israel-Palintine
Regarding your recent sermon on peace for Israel you seem to apply moral equivalency to the Gaza issue. Gaza is being starved intermittently bomb targets include sewage treatment plants thousands of civilians killed or made sick. The rockets have killed 2 or 3 people. The of return was peaceful yet snipers killed marchers. For an honest discussion why not debate Norman Finklestein.
Passing On Podcast
I’ll be passing on this podcast from now on. I had hoped for more inspirational wisdom and insight, but it seems that the leadership has a different focus on scriptures, Israel and community. Really surprised with Rabbi Angela’s interview of Dr. Ruth recently. Not what I would term Holy Space when tuning into Central Synagogue’s podcast.
