Episode 15 - Sustainable Development and Education
This episode explores the role of leadership in streamlining Caribbean efforts towards sustainable development as well as the role and power of education in changing lives. As Small Island Developing States (SIDS), activism must play a major role in our pursuit of the UN Sustainability Goals. CESaRE recognizes these efforts and this episode features two Caribbean youth activists. Kimar Hinds, a management student, and philanthropist Gabrielle Gay join our host Jelani Blake to discuss trending issues affecting the Caribbean today.
Episode 14 - Electrification and Renewables mean security
The world is currently in an energy 'insecure' state with many factors at play but one thing is very clear ... SIDS are vulnerable to fuel shocks and prices. So, what do we do? Electric interisland ferries? More EVs on the road? Perhaps we simply need more solar PV in the Caribbean? Join our host, Jelani Blake, as he explores these questions and more with our guests!
Episode 13 - Caribbean Sustainable Finance. What does it mean for us?
The issues surrounding money seem to stem from its misuse and uneven distribution on a global scale. This episode examines the role that finance plays in contemporary issues such as climate change and social inequality on a global and regional level. Our guests, Christopher Straughn and Colin Bogle join our host Jelani Blake to discuss everything from sustainable projects to sustainable funding on this episode of CESaRE voices.
Episode 12 - Communicating Sargassum in the Caribbean
We join forces with The Sargassum Podcast team for this special Earth Day release (public launch). Our guests, Franziska Elmer, Mar Fernández-Méndez, and Robby Thigpen join our host Jelani Blake to discuss everything from risks to opportunities, to gaps in our scientific communication.
