Weekly update on issues pertaining to the passage of the FAIRtax, HR 25. Exploring a new topic every week.
How Taxes Affect Your Life
Most people understand that every dollar they pay in taxes is a dollar they can't use to make purchases or pay bills. However, most people have absolutely no clue how much they really pay in taxes. That's because the government keeps the true cost of the income tax system hidden from us. This week, Steve Hayes blows the cover on some of the government's dirty little secrets and explains how the FAIRtax is the answer to making sure people get a true picture of just how much government is costing them.
Tax Reform Big Enough for Texas
Texas is one of just a few states that does not have a personal income tax. However, that doesn't mean it can't benefit from having it's own FAIRtax. In an article published in Today's CPA magazine, CPA Jade Walle proposes that Texas replace its cumbersome and inefficient property tax system with a state level FAIRtax. The benefits are many, including a state wide improvement in the quality of public education. Check it all out in this week's Chairman's Report.
Democracy at Work
As this is being published, the outcome of the Presidential election of three days ago is still undetermined. While both sides are anxiously awaiting a final resolution, it should be noted that regardless of the outcome, we still have a country where we the people still get to decide who occupies the Presidency and who will represent us in Congress. That's good. Unfortunately, we also have a system of taxation that is exceedingly intrusive, unfair and unworkable. That's bad. But, the same thing that makes our country great also gives us the means by which we can throw off the shackles of the income/payroll tax system and usher in the FAIRtax.
The FAIRtax Will Make Politicians Focus on what's Really Important
Our politicians spend countless hours messing with the tax code when they could be dealing with issues that are really important. In this week's Chairman's Report, Steve Hayes looks at how the Congress Critters use a constantly changing tax code to keep our attention on our own pocketbooks rather than on what the Ruling Class is really doing to us.
The FAIRtax Will Increase US Manufacturing Jobs - Why That Matters
In this week's Chairman's Report, AFFT President Steve Hayes puts forth some solid numbers on why more manufacturing jobs would be good for everyone in America, and why losing those jobs hurts everyone.
What Happens After the Election?
This week AFFT President Steve Hayes takes a break from the normal routine of promoting the FAIRtax and explains some of the unprecedented things that could possibly happen in the 2020 Presidential Election.
