    Lindsay Clancy: When the Healthcare System Fails a Mother n this episode, I’m taking a closer look at the heartbreaking and deeply complicated case of Lindsay Clancy, a mother who was struggling with severe mental health symptoms before the deaths of her three young children. This is not an episode about excusing what happened, nor is it about turning anyone into a villain. Instead, I want to explore a difficult question: Did the healthcare system recognize just how seriously Lindsay was deteriorating—and did it do enough to intervene? We’ll talk about postpartum mental illness, intrusive thoughts, suicidal ideation, psychiatric treatment, medications, hospitalization, postpartum psychosis, and the warning signs that may have been present before the tragedy. I’ll also discuss Patrick Clancy, the questions surrounding his role and what is—and isn't—supported by evidence, including some of the speculation circulating online about their marriage, his remarriage, and searches connected to his computer. Most importantly, I want to have an honest conversation about what happens when a mother desperately needs help and the systems around her fail to recognize the severity of what she is experiencing. How do we hold someone accountable for an unimaginable tragedy while also asking whether that tragedy could have been prevented? This is my perspective on the case—and I want to hear yours.
