The book brings forth the various factors that highlight the injustices committed against women. The initial chapters draw attention on how women are pushed to take a beat seat in society. Towards the end, the book requests its readers to understand that the concept of gender equality begins at home.     HOW TO RUN A SKILLED BUSINESS - PART I In order to learn more about financial independence, this week, we will dive into ‘skilled business.’ To lead a path in business and become successful, one must know what his interests are. The Japanese culture, Ikigai, to choose a promising career, stresses one to know what his hobbies are. One can note his hobbies by adhering to a 21-day schedule. In this, he can perform various activities that make him happy. Or he can list down what his likes are in case of time pressure. Through either of these two methods, one can eventually be aware of his interests. In this first part of running a skilled business, we came to know the underlying fact to kickstart a business.     Design of Everyday Things This podcast helps us to understand the basics of Design in our everyday things. Through these Design concepts, one can first know the discoverability and understandability of a product or an object. After observing the human needs and necessities, a  new product delivered in Design is called human-centric design. While a new design is under process, it is important to know the significance of interaction. Interaction is achieved through three principles, namely affordance, signifiers, and feedback. Affordance is what design products offer. Signifier indicates the working process of the product.     Don Norman VS climate change

    Don Norman, often considered as the Godfather of Design, voice out for the 21st century designer and the design education. Also he gives us four main focus areas in designing.  These are believed to provide answers to the unresolved social problems which includes, 1. Focus on people 2. Focus on problems 3. Focus on interconnections 4. Focus on various perspectives With these in mind, designers around the globe strive to solve the climate change that has devastating impacts now and in the future too. The UN's 17 sustainable goals can also be achieved through design. For this, everyone has to contribute.     Malala - கரும்பலை யுத்தம்

    "One child, one teacher, one pen, and one book can change the world."  A face that springs up our minds as soon as we hear that is Malala Yousafzai. Malala had an unflagging belief in her principles when hopes were frail. She stood for herself and other girls against the terror group Taliban. When girls like Malala were chasing their dreams with education, the Taliban clipped their wings. She took the bullet that reversed her fate forever. The Taliban dreams became a nightmare when Malala garnered a huge support across the oceans. The Nobel Prize awardee kindled everyone's  spirits that sparked enthusiasm and awareness of a girl's education. Malala will forever live in people's minds and lives, as a fire to challenge and break the stereotypes. Read Natarajan's "Malalavin Karumpalagai Yuttham" in Tamil to get inspired.     Becoming Minimalist! | நிதி சுதந்திரம் | Episode - 3 | Thaalisangili | Chalkpiece

    In order to understand minimalism, let us go back to the societal setup back then. The once matriarchal society changed its patterns of living since men shifted places for business . As a result, society began to ‘own’ things and became patriarchal. Fast forward to 2021, we are rather in a difficult position to let go of irrelevant things. In order to refine our lives, we have to differentiate between our ‘wants’ and ‘needs’. To achieve that, let us take five different boxes, in which we can segregate our things, according to its purpose as shown in Netflix’s Sparking Joy. Along with this, watch in the podcast how Periyar or Arignar Anna paved a path to minimalism.
